Every time I look at the comments for any vid that has anything remotely to do with the old-generation AC games, all I see is hate for the new AC games. Don't understand it. Entire series has the best game mechanics of literally any game I've ever played, hands down; I share your love for these old games, but I have an absolute blast playing the new ones too. From Software are creative geniuses when comes to game design, if they didn't experiment with new mechanics, they'd have gotten bored doing the same thing over and over and over again and the series would have died a long time ago, if it ever existed in the first place. You fans of OG Armored Core have your OG AC games to play - why would you want the devs to keep rehashing the same thing over and over again? The AC3-ACLR arc had at least AC3, AC3SL, ACNB, ACN, and ACLR - that's 5 games, and if you throw in AC2 and AC2AA, it's 7, as all their mechanics were quite similar. You can still play these games, what's it matter if more of the same doesn't come out? I'll give you guys one thing though, at least the old games had stories. 4 and 4A looked like they tried to have a story but it got poo'd on by Sega, but V and VD barely even make the attempt lol. That's the biggest shame about the new games, not the fact that they have different mechanics.
I know it’s a year late, but here’s my take. The 3-LR generation are my favourite by far. I don’t hate 4/FA, but I do feel like the ultra fast movement speed in those games doesn’t lend itself to interesting level design. The 3rd gen games had all these cityscapes, giant underground labyrinths, hell even a space station! In 4th gen (with a few exceptions) you’re dropped in an open field mission after mission with some hapless enemies & blast around murdering them for 25 seconds before you’re back in the garage. 3rd gen just had a lot more memorable & replayable missions than 4th. 5th gen was a move back in the right direction but they tried to make it some kind of 5v5 esport & that didn’t really pan out too well. Idk, maybe it’s just nostalgia, but it’s why I like 3rd gen more than later games & feel like they hold up better today.
@@HekateMGO Agreed that 4th gen's maps are just boring wide open flat garbage. Not much that can be done about that, which is unfortunate because I love the speed of those games - luckily for me, the gameplay itself is exciting enough to make up for the maps being "large flat space 1", "large flat space 2", "large flat space with some radar dishes", "large flat space on water", etc. 3rd gen is also obvious winner for missions/story/characters; way I look at it, anything after Last Raven is basically a multiplayer-only game, which is a shame but multiplayer's always been my favourite part of AC so whatevs. Think 5th gen esport thing worked out better in JP than elsewhere; it's hard to do osmething like that with AC outside of Japan because the playerbase is just so tiny. That said, always felt like 5th gen managed to accomplish really interesting teamplay without really sacrificing any of AC's 1v1 value, so only really see the team dynamic as an addition that doesn't take anything away from the core 1v1 pvp AC's always been known for - even if you don't like the teamplay, you can just ignore it and play 1v1s and still have tons of fun. 5th gen's movement and maps just seem by far the best though. Smaller mechs make for way more interesting maps and the movement being based around walljumping and quickboosting without being cocaine fast like 4th gen is sooooooooooo nice. Anyway just my 2 cents, 2 years late lmao. AC6 IS COMING, GET HYPE

I hate the new damn armored cores, all the crappy armor they are attaching to the chest and arms and legs are annoying me, I think they are trying to hard to make the modern armored cores TOO realistic, wheras these armored cores were borderline realistic with a dash of fantasy.
12 years in the future, I watch as Armored Core 6 is announced, I'm still listening to this song.
Who comes back to this appreciating the old good AC songs? Anyone?... I guess just me...
Your not alone friend
I hope the next one will come out. ..

One of my favourite childhood games and one of the best openings ever!
@@MrLightningBlt indeed.
Try listening to this with headphones, its really good with the ear changing :D
Ita crazy that Armored Core 6 looks as good as CGI in AC2, so cool to see how the series has grown
I remember teaching my self how to play AC2. Since then I'm on a whole different level with this game. Growing up in an era of video games is great :D
Remember folks, if you hear this music in the mission. It's gonna be hard as hell.

This track has a name now…Act Zero Driver
extra serious song. like there is danger in this job !
This theme also comes on with almost all AC encounters
I've always known it as the theme song for AC2:AA
I'm not sure it has an actual name besides that
maybe they should make a remastered version to this awesome ps2 game.
Love Dis Song!
Mario underground-theme vibes, but still an excellent theme.
Sounds like a racing game stage to be honest....
I just put it in the description right now
yes I do. You want it?
Sorry for the late reply, but thanks!
@X3SB I know, I have the soundtracks on my zune xD
yeas i do
hey you still have the pic?
what is this songs real name?
pacman? o.o;;

The idea is to make the ACs look like they're made from scrap metal. After all, it's in the aftermath of ACFA.
Nah, i don't want my Armored core to look like another mecha anime like gundam.
