- What if we had a brand new Tournament of Power with the Omni King (Zeno) where Gamma 1, Broly, Granolah and Merus could fight for Universe 7 against Jiren and many others. Should we have one? Let's discuss the next possible Dragon Ball Super arc.
I know what you are thinking... isn't it too soon, Masako? We already had a tournament of power and that was pretty fun for what it was...definitely not the most exciting idea going, but it definitely managed to stick the landing somewhat with that epic Freeza/Goku collaboration and us getting plenty of Android 17 action...but a video @Geekdom101 did regarding the idea of another Universe Survival Arc got us pondering and our whatiffery-riddled brains were kicked into high gear. What if there was another tournmant of power. Don't worry we're not going to give you a story regarding this because it's very very tedious; something of which neither of us particularly enjoys doing...but we'll definitely give you our thinking and working. Broly vs Jiren? Gamma 1 vs Hit?

Agreed. I'd love it to be a more friendly, chivalrous affair. Although I imagine tension and rivalries would arise in certain places.
I want it to be set in a specialized planet made to handle warriors on this level and it have different environments that way it wont be a single stage like last time

Well, a test of morality for one randomly selected mortal who thankfully happened to pass.
If the prize for the last one standing is still a wish on the super dragon balls, I could see it starting as a lighthearted tournament arc and then gaining dramatic stakes as its revealed that some of the contestants have a particularly nefarious wish.
Imagine a Tournament with UI Goku, UE Vegeta, Beast Gohan, Orange Piccolo and Black Frieza.
And LSSJ Controlled Broly, and Granolah, and Gamma 1. That's already 8 members

@@Matt_Underwood Maybe Merus as well since he is no longer a full Angel. He is a former Angel. That's nine. 10th member could maybe finally be Majin Buu since he didn't appear in the Universe 6 tournament or the first Tournament of Power. He only appeared in pre ToP exhibition matches. Other than him, 17 seems like the best choice. I'd be up for Tien because Tien is cool. Joke choices could maybe be Jaco or Yamcha since they were excluded from the first ToP lol
One thing I've always wanted to see (and there definitely is this) is a Majin Buu from another universe.
But probably pretty different from ours. Maybe keeps himself in solitude because he wants to be left alone, kind of like the Hulk. And made Planet Buu from his own clones.

@@mds_main Everyone underestimates Maji-Kayo. He probably was one of the stronger fighters in the ToP but he didn't get to showcase his strength because he was one of the very few characters eliminated by Jiren.
I think paring it down to only the significant players from the previously seen universes and having them stack up against the unseen universes would be the way to go.

Gohan: (grits his teeth) I'm not just worried about you. Pan and Videl shouldn't have to live through this again.
Goku: Trust me, Gohan, we'll protect them. Besides, it's for the sake of the universe!
Gohan: (exasperated) Dad, sometimes I think you forget that you have a universe right here at home that needs you too.
Let's have another version of the "other world tournament" with higher stakes, fewer contestants so it's easier to give each universe more focus.
If you've ever read Dragon Ball Multiverse, it's basically what I wish the original ToP was like

I kind of want to see Granolah use the dragon balls one more time to give back the power he gained to get his lifespan back, but then he'd try to reobtain that power the right way through training
I imagine a scenario where Granola only has 1 day left to live, and that day is the Tournament of Power, and then, in a move to take the strongest enemy out of the arena (Jiren or something), he sacrifices himself making an explosion so big that it reduced the arena to a few pieces, and Goku, Vegeta and Frieza tried to take him down together.
I'm sure it will happen, they will let the other "stronger" universes in and the original ones will be surprised at how strong being in other universes are and have their respective updates. Jiren with a student or something, the love universe with more love power, bring in the king saiyan from U6. Lots can be done.

A thought occurs to me that could lead up to a Second Tournament of Power... Vegeta still has his promise to Cabba to uphold, to see U6's Sadala.
Saiyan family road trip to Universe 6, and maybe bring Granolah along since the Ceruleans there may still exist as well.
A Universe 6 arc perhaps, which could maybe lead into a little friendly tournament there with an audience, hearkening back to when U6 and U7 had their pre-ToP tournament, which could reignite the desire in all concerned for another ToP, only this time with a crowd like the suggestion here in the video
I heard someone throw out the idea of having a Tournament were each twin universe forms one team. So for example: U6 and U7 would have to pair together and form one team with the best fighters from both universes.
I love that idea. You might tell I'm a fan of Hit, & the fighters from universe 7 & 6 are pretty much friends anyway. If we don't ever get a spin off show (or movie) of universe 6, this is the next best thing. They can make every team assigned with another randomly, except for the team that won the last ToP (who gets to choose), & universe 7 picks 6 to ally with. The 2nd ToP can have 3v3s, & it'd be more interesting with multiverse team ups.
Masako, how about standalone What If of ToP with team of characters from your What Ifs? - Z-Fighter Chichi, Z-Fighter Bulma, Saiyan Krillin, Raditz, Turles, Babidi, LSS Gohan, Frieza who Turned Good, Goku and Vegeta stay the same. (Let's for this one What If assume they're somehow all in the same continuity)
Masakox is planning to make something like that but it won’t be for a while. The older what if’s have yet to be completed.

"The Universal Tenkaichi Budokai" or something along those lines would be a cool name for the tournament! Instead of just calling it the TOP 2... The name probably needs work but I think naming it after the Tenkaichi Budokai would be such a good idea! It would be so nostalgic while also being a redemption of the last Tenkaichi Budokai we had in the Buu saga. Heck, get the announcer in on this before the guy retires!
They can do a 3v3 tournament with every universe having 3 teams and 1 spare. I loved the various team up efforts in the TOP. Imagine Gohan, Broly and Buu needing to come up with a game plan.
And give reason for a sequel to Fighterz
Gamma 1 and Granolah would be interesting entries because they could have a lot to gain in a Tournament of Power setup. Especially if Super Dragon Ball Wishes are the prize. Gamma wanting to resurrect his brother despite being an artificial being and Granlah would want to wish for his original lifespan or just an extended lifespan so that he can live longer for Monaito's sake. Both character stand to benefit from a dragon wish the most while also being both characters that made huge mistakes and paying the price for them. Both have room for redemption.
Imagine in Freezas sheer arrogance he sets up a Universal Tournament of his own, alla King of the Iron Fist from Tekken. Not a traditional tournament for the sport, but a gathering of the Universes strongest warriors just for Freeza to prove his strength against the winner. I’d watch that arc
ultra instinct Goku, ultra ego Vegeta, Gohan BEAST, Orange Piccolo, Broly, Granolah, and BLACK FRIEZA. this is an easy walk in the park, and they still have three more slots
oh wait, I'm not sure if Granolah still alive after Super Heroes or not, but hey, I forgot Gamma1. so that's not much change I think
It would be nice for a different location but the issue is that the world of void was chosen so these characters that can destroy galaxies and universes can go all out without worrying about the surroundings so I would use the hyperbolic time chamber or some other dimension but all the universes watching through a broadcast. I like all the other ideas though especially monaka joining looking ripped and cool but with that voice lmao. Like seeing more art from you gamma 3 looks really good.
One thing I really want to see is Gamma 1 wearing a blue cape when he reappears in memory of his brother since that's the last thing that was left of him.
Having Broly, Granolah, Merus & Gamma 1 fending off a major threat on their own sounds pretty good to me. It reminds me of the two-part season 6 finale of My Little Pony: FIM, where the main characters are otherwise indisposed and it's up to Starlight Glimmer, Trixie, Discord & Thorax to stop the big bad

Possibly a second TOP would be the winning universe against the previously exempt universes. Make this one purely for fun. Maybe even let the gods be a member of the team. Cuz we all know that black fluffy dude knows how to throw down.
Yes! I love the idea of this tournament having an audience, it'd give every universe a chance to better flesh out their planets and can you even imagine how big the seating arrangements would have to be?? Think super bowl stadium times 10! Hell they could even have people seated upside down on the bottom of every floor of seating besides the lowest one because gravity manipulation would be a piece of cake for angels

I think location-wise would be a large planet like Namek, with perhaps additional fighting stages large enough for the fighters to compete at their best.
And if we include the four exempt universes, we may see those very fighters Whis mentioned being among the 5 strongest in the multiverse aside from the Grand Priest.
I love how Fairy Tail designed their tournament. Grand Magic Games had one-on-one fights, but also extra challenges the Zenos would love. A maze where each participant is given part of the map, a race, single most impressive attack, a king of the hill styled game, and many more.
Who wants to see Hit (time skip), Goku (instant transmission), and Dyspo (Sonic speed) race each other, with a dark horse from other universes posing a challenge?
How about picking 2 members from each team to survive an elimination match against one of the exempted Gods of Destruction for 3 minutes?
Have participants steal an object from an exempted Angel within 8 minutes?
All for the excitement of the -fans- Zeno!

if there was another tournament of power i think a better motivation for holding it would be to select a number of best fighters and prepare them for some sort of multiversal conflict like in dragon ball kakumei where they have the war between erased universes that were erased before by zeno, or some kind of different multiverse conflict/war.
I really want there to be more Broly content 😭 I need to see his journey to control his power and become a reliable fighter

If we got a second ToP I'd like for Universe 7 to be allies with the Universes from the first ToP and for it to be those Universes vs Universe 1, 5, 8, and 12.. Jiren, Caulifla, Ribriane, Hit, etc would all be on their squad. Maybe they could have a combined 40-50 fighter roster for each set of Universes with an 80-100 fighter total for the entire tournament. With most of the slots being filled by Universe 7 and only the relevant characters from Universes 2, 3, 4, 6, 9, 10, and 11 returning to aid Universe 7. Maybe eigth of those slots could be used by the God of Destruction from each Universe so they can participate this time.
I'd love an extended recruitment arc like we got with the first ToP. Multiversal recruitment this timd
It would be better than the first sure, but it might be somewhat samey as we've already goku achieve the impossible before. However, this might be a way to introduce new universes into the fold if done right and we might see someone else achieve a different level of power and some new transformations
If we ever have a 2nd Tournament of Power I would like the roster to be Goku, Gohan, Goten, Vegeta, Trunks, Krillin, Piccolo, Android 18, Granolah and Broly.
The way MasakoX said "one last ride" is one of the coolest things I ever heard
I can see all of the gods of destruction have rivalries like Champa and Beerus. I can see it acting like how countries treat the Olympics. They can even create an arena in each universe so they rotate what universe its in each year

10 Team Members
- 1 Trios Team Tournament: 3 person teams battle. All members from the team must be eliminated to proceed
- 1 or 2 Doubles Team Tournament: 2 person teams battle. Same rule as above
- 5 or 3 Solo Tournament Entries: Dance rules as usual.
The Winner(s) of each bracket get a wish equal to the strongest Shenron amongst the Universes.
The Overall Tournament Winner gets a wish from Super Shenron.
If there is a second tournament of power maybe this time the Gods of Destruction fight too. They can be the team captains.
I hope if that happens that the publisher will scream at Toriyama to make Ribrianne a new form.

It'd be cool to see an Otherworld tournament type scenario. That way the fighters can go all out without having to worry about destroying a planet, but still have a huge crowd.
Or perhaps instead, Maybe they can do a royal rumble type battle royal. Have fighters draw numbers and enter the ring at various intervals. Fight to either knockout or ringout all while fighters keep entering one at a time. Once all fighters have entered it's just a good old fashion battle royal. But have it be a TRUE battle royal. No teams. Just have strong fighters from different universes duking it out.
My gosh I've LOOOVE to see Broly, Meerus, and Granolah in a TOP2.
We need so many rematches. Kale/Caulifla, Hit, Jiren, Toppo. Not to mention watch new Ultra Instinct and Ego go ham.
I liked the world of Void for what it was, but I DEFINITELY agree a TOP2 would need to be in a new location. Also, would love it to be a classic bracket structure!!!! Cut out the chaff!

To be fair, we had two Tenkaichi Budokai on-screen that were basically the same, but they existed to show off how much Goku had grown in the intervening time. I do think it's a bit too soon for another Tournament of Power, and redoing it with the same stakes would just be transparently rehashing, though. What made the 21st and 22nd World Tournaments interesting was that the stakes were extremely personal to Goku. He wanted to win, and that was all the reason he needed.
Now that we've got Goten and Trunks with new designs, I do think it'd be a waste to just put them in the back seat again, so maybe a smaller, less dire tournament _is_ in order. And maybe there could be a rule where each universe has to put together a new team, with no repeats from the last one - or at least, make the team fifty percent new, or just a smaller team.
There's a lot we _could_ do with it but as it stands, it's still the most recent anime arc, so I would personally want them to give one or two more for breathing room. Even if it was four years ago now, it still feels bizarrely recent.
Maybe instead of 1v1, it can be team v team sort of like how the tournament of power ended up at the end with the pride troopers vs the z fighters. That way it is still different enough from the original tournaments and the ToP and still leaves room for strategy being able to overcome raw strength.
What about a tag-team tournament? So preliminary battle royale, but the main tournament is 2 v 2. with 16 Teams.
I firmly believe that if there is a second TOP, I think it would benefit from Yu Yu Hakusho's Dark Tournament style of brackets and fights. That way its not too messy to do one on ones and still have a universe unity theme going on
If you wanted you could then change the game to 1v1 with the semi finalist teams to hype up the idea of fights between characters left. Like a rematch for Goku v Piccolo or Goku v Vegeta. It would be a random arc extension but could work

Place the combatants randomly on an uninhabited planet, and once two fighters meet, the a gels or Zeno would make an arena for them to fight upon.
Yea, i have a feeling that this is all leading to Dragonball (or maybe just a single arc) of this NOT being the Goku and Vegeta show for once.
Whis and Beerus could do a G.O.D tournament in order to find a new destroyer.
I'd want to see Kale and Broly face off. That'd be interesting. Both of them having learned how to control their powers a bit.
I can also see and small funny arc where the zenos have a torment of comedy where it's just stand up after stand up, it'll be painful watch but I'll be a chance to give king Kai to use his stand up routine and maybe some other character antics

I think a 2vs2 or 3vs3 (like Fighterz) tournament would be better then just 1vs1. Not only would it be a new format for the series, but it'll also be more exciting for both the viewers and Zenos. Remember how when Kale and Caulifla fused into Kefla, Zenos though it was very cool and allowed it? And also just how hype Goku and Frieza knocking Jiren out of the ring was? A 2vs2 tournament would allow for fusions as well as just fun strategies and teamwork.
Also... So this might be an "8 universes" tournament again, with each universe bringing a team of 3 fighters, and those teams are fighting in the Tenakichi Budokai style tournament, there's just 3 fighters per team and the arena is bigger.
I think they could change up the roster. Have the 4 universes that didn't participate in the ToP, as well as the "top 3" universes of the ToP, which would be U7, U11 and U6. So far that's only 7 teams. And for the 8th team, Daishinkan could remember that one of the previously erased 6 universes had a lot of strong fighters, and would suggest to Zenos to use the Super Dragon Balls to temporarily bring that universe back just for the Tournament! The team from that universe would be probably be the antagonists of the arc.
Idea for a twist ...... ToP 2 ..... this time .... the Gods of Destruction compete with their teams (give each universe much more incentive to gather the strongest warriors possible, perhaps other universes had some warriors that were objectivly stronger than their first teamates, but didnt want to risk them being too lose a cannon (imagine Universe 2 had a being of pure hate that was the "Freeza" to Ribriane)
# 001 I think in order for Goku and Vegeta to able to deal with Black Frieza, is that they are going to have to somehow get Jiren to train with them. As Vegeta mentioned in Super Hero, Jiren was able to be that powerful because he knew how to effectively use his power. If the Saiyans can get a good grasp on how Jiren fight and incorporate that into their training, they can open up a slew of ways to utilize ALL of their Super Saiyan forms!
Heck Goku and Vegeta can just go Super Saiyan Red and that alone will give Black Frieza a difficult time.
This idea is more or less being done in Dragon Ball: Multiverse, from which concepts already appeared in Super. This would be taking the entire premise.

I don't know how or why it would make any sense, but I would really enjoy seeing Moro brought back to join Team Universe 7. Frieza's evil, but he isn't beyond reason and kind of sort of likes Goku, or at the very least tolerates him. Moro, on the other hand, is one of the most evil (if not THE most evil) characters in Dragon Ball and would be a wildcard to shake up the story.
All I want to see is more Bulla. Toriyama already said she has more potential than anyone, period. Give us the blue cutie!!

Tournament of strength to find the strongest in the multiverse!!
One other thing what if this next tournament took place on an artificial planet. Here’s what I’m thinking you scatter the fighters all over the place so they have to locate their opponent before they can fight and when they do find them a borderline appears and the first person to be push out loses. This way you can have different biomes which could affect the fighters. Maybe we could even go full hunger games where useful items could also be scattered around, or better yet have them drop in in a very obvious way so a load of fighters could be draw towards one place if thing are going a bit too slow.
The Second Tournament of Power should be divided into Three Stages/Phases:
Phase 1 is the 1v1 of the WMA Tournament.
Phase 2 is a universe vs universe between all universe Round Robin Style. Highest points win that Phase. (All members fight each other.)
Phase 3 is the FFA like the first Tournament of Power.
Another interesting facet not seen in DB would be to make the tournament 2v2 matches. It would add more interesting characters dynamics and writing while also having room for the introduction of new characters
That would be fire actually. We could get unexpected fights, like Granolah and Buu against Hit and Frost
Honestly, what I think would be an interesting concept is a threat that effects all of the universes and we get to actually go see more of the different universes. It could give a fun reason to see the characters from the ToP arc again and see where they are now. Plus, give more characters a chance to take part in working together to save each of the universes.

Me prior to watching video: universe 7 would wipe the floor with everyone assuming final gohan is a certainty
I feel like the constant flow of strong foes means there's going to be another video game.
Frieza being ‘kind’ still unnerves me…a lot.
Hopefully it wouldn’t result in erasure this time, but instead it would be to select a new team for an approaching threat to all of the universes. Most interesting thing I can think of is the 12 universes are just one area in a large multiverse and Zeno isn’t a unique being and the Omni kings serve as a sort of nuclear deterrent
As for the format of the tournament I kinda wanna just rip off the magic knights tournament from black clover where it was a 3v3 where each team had to protect an object
If they do a ToP2 it would be better to have a handful of goons from each universe in a 1v1 type of tournament, or maybe group fights in a bracket instead of the free for all.
I would love to see a one-shot of the hide & seek tournament
My problem with the original ToP is that it didn’t feel enough like a free-for-all. We could have had more interaction between characters for other universes, and more interesting matchups with gimmicky fighters. Clever finishes between characters who were distracted by the fight they were already in being offed by someone they didn’t notice. In that regard, I wanted something a little more Hunger Games.
We could also see something like Kakumei, a multiverse war involving fallen universes and the long forgotten Demon realm. Then the characters we met from other universes would actually take sides based upon their genuine feelings, and be willing to help other characters who feel the same way. Those who suffered the most would turn against those who fight for the status quo. Jiren would straight up betray the Pride Troopers and fight on the side of demon royalty. The only problem with this plot line is little room for humor or slice-of-life moments.

The first one was Gokus idea and then the Zenos thought it was a good idea for fun and to see if there is still good by letting universe 7 know that they wanted them to revive the other universes and that is what universe 7 did.

I could see the Tournament of Power being the replacement for the Tenkaichi Budōkai in terms of Dragon Ball having a reoccurring Tournament Arc, since the former can no longer keep up with the level of... well... power you would need to make it seem challenging for our protagonists (even the secondary ones) without some major out of butt pulling.
I agree the stakes should be lowered to "it's for fun and a Super Shenron wish" now instead of universal erasure, and you can still have a major threat from a contestant who you might not want their wish coming true...

They could use the Kai's to make a planet for the tournamnet as they are the creation God's. That way you can have varied environments for a change of scenery.
