OH! This is a great idea! Having to stack teams to try and win 2 of the 3 battles is a super fun idea. And so much strategy! Try and balance all three teams? Aim for one sweeper and support mons for one battle? Place all of your best mons on team 1 to try and guarantee that win, and completely trash team 3 and accept the loss, hoping to win team 2? I have not seen the video yet but this maybe the most fire then we fight ever.
I like this idea of building multiple teams for multiple battles. I wonder if you could tweak the starter selection so that maybe you only know certain clues about what your starters are.
They could pick their opponents starters and only say the typing or dex entry, etc and the opponent will put their team together with the info given them
That Steelworker Spiritomb was such a funky gimmick but it was honestly so cool! I'm glad you were able to pull it off. Keep up the great vids Pat and friends, love you all.
Patterrz once again having a great idea with a very simple concept that I'm surprised I haven't seen anyone else do yet. I do genuinely believe Patterrz is the most creative member of the poketuber then we fight squad. I keep trying to convince my other friends to join me in recreating some of my favorite video ideas of his.
Good idea, great video. I think it would be better to NOT pretermine which team fights which. Make 3 teams, then stratergize which one to bring each fight separately
I think everyone is in agreement that this idea is fire. I wanna see more of this format, maybe with some secrecy so it’s more about team balance than counterpicking? Counterpicking is fun don’t get me wrong, but so is surprising your opponent and working blind
OH! You gotta do the Blind Format with this one too! Build Three Teams Using All Three Starters But Only Knowing... Color, BST, Ability, Typings. That will be entertaining!
I keep forgetting that pat is the only person from England out of the group who do these then we fights together. I’m from England too so it’s nice to watch someone from my country instead of everyone being from America. Loved this concept. Hope to see this again.
This was definitely the most goated format youve thought of. My only critique is it should have actually been best of 3 that way your friend didnt have to suffer the disrespectful 3rd loss this time lol. Loved the video!
This idea was super cool. Think it would be cool to have an additional round of starters to have one benched mon on each team to add a little more team building option/counter play
New idea. You take your three starters. And battle them in a triple battle against theirs. Whichever team is reduced to one first is forced to use that pokemon. The other has their pick of their living pokemon.
Battle 1: Pat misses every move. Somehow wins. Battle 2: Pat being toxic. Battle 3: Pat being a nasty steelworker. Maybe a then we fight battle in the future can be something like you choose your six Pokemon, BUT you use those six Pokemon in six one on one battles where you terrastalize for all of them.
This was a great idea!! I loved how it was a 3 randomization battle!! I think you guys could build on this type of battles.. just reuse fusions, babies, mid stages etc. yo man this video definitely sparked an interest!!
Big fan of these types of videos where you have to make do with what you get wholly and truly. No choosing the better mon or being able to choose abilities, just pure innovation when it comes to making the best out of not so great (or great) pokemon.
Please do more battles with this idea, this might honestly be the best idea for battles I've seen, either this or I think it was Shady's but the combining all 3 pokemon battles by using an ability of one the moves & the stats.
such a good idea Pat, keep up the amazing work man you work incredibly hard for us to watch some great content, that 4 hour super cut is gonna take me forever to finish 😂
I was thinking of recommending this idea for any of the poketubers I watch lol but you beat me to it. Really great video I’d love to see some more content like this.
@@ssjmatt8424 Best way to start would be doing a bit more research. It's clear for some of these pokemon it was straight copied from Smogon from a wrong generation or something of the sort. PKHex does take awhile to do but its worth the effort to even just learn, knowing Rich is new to the scene i'd love to see him take off
@@CarlosThadeuyea Rich aint the brightest when it comes to battling, like in the first battle he had the chance to twave the shaymin but he went for chilling reception? Like what use is that even? He doesnt even have an ice type.
Amazing video idea this was! 3 teams, of 18 mons.. something else that's also 18, the amount of types in pokemon. You go out and catch 1 mon of each MAIN typing (if it's dual type), then no duplicate moves, no duplicate abilities, no dupe items across all 18 mons, finally letting us see some different stuff and requiring high brain power to truly make shine would be amazing!
Haven't even watched fully yet but I love this video idea. Using every single mon rolled is fantastic and adds some real stinkers to these videos haha.
Wow really cool idea! Really spice up "Then Battle" type of videos! I hope this gets done again on other channels either the same or with their own twist and hopefully that twist will be something good.
Love this idea, could possibly incorporate doing a style where you choose your starter blindly (or with whatever gimmick method) out of 12 sets and try building two teams, in an attempt to predict what your opponent will bring for each team.
The battles were fantastic in this one. I feel like using all the pokemon lead to a lot of lesser chosen pokemon joining in and made ot more of a necessity to find weird, fun gimmicks for a lot of them.
Small idea I had when the first pick didn't really matter. If you allowed any team assignment it might be more fun. Like you could use all three starts to finish filling up a good team and then miss a dialga
I think this idea could be modified into another interesting premise. Same basic premise of assigning each starter to a team. But instead of building three teams and using all of them, you're building three teams that your opponent will then select one from to use against you. And to make things more spicy, you don't need to assign pokemon evenly each round. So if one round the starters are a legendary and two junk pokemon, you could put all three on Team 1 to make sure that there are drawbacks to the team with the legendary. You each make three teams, then pick one team from the three that your opponent made, not knowing which of the teams you built your opponent selected. When you rematch, you can choose to keep your selected team, or switch to one of the other two your opponent made. To any Magic: The Gathering players, we call this the Fact or Fiction.
this would be interesting with double battles where you pick two pokemon of the 3 and assign them each to a different team and the first team goes in the left slot, second in the right
This was a sick video and the battle was fun to watch too. The trick room nasty plot tera steel was so cool. I have an idea: same idea (forced to use all 3 mons on different teams) but you can lie about one of them. If you get caught lying the opponent can either steal that mon or pick the team where that mon goes
Bonus legend in the last round is fun on paper but it totally skews the snake draft in favor of whoever picks second in the legendary round. Tbf I thought Pat messed up there by not going Moon/Skymin/Terapagos but something to keep in mind for future iterations of this concept
This is a GREAT idea! I wonder is the best strat here to dump the worst mon in each trio onto one team and then basically hope your two other teams are better than the (hopefully) well-balanced opposition?

Only thing that would make it better is if for each fight you choos which team you bring instead of 1v1, 2v2 & 3v3, so there could be mindgames.
Or just not tell your opponent what your teams are. No counter picking, just make the best balanced teams you can.
