No need to remove the gas tank to change the ECU settings. Just remove the left shroud and slide the ECU out of the rubber to the left. Make your changes and reverse the process. 👍😊
You mean you didn't immediately notice the lack of fuel cut when closing and opening the throttle? 🤔 Getting rid of that was the No. 1 thing I was expecting to experience when I decided to buy a Vortex ECU for mine after riding it stock for a while.🙂 Another nice thing is elimination of the lean stalling and flameouts just when you don't want them. 😡
I’ve been on the Vortex for over a year now so here’s a couple of tips. Make sure you calibrate your TPS. It really helps in making a smooth transition at the tip in point right off idle. Also, after selecting the pipe and map combo you want to run make sure you adjust your idle to between 1800 and 1900 rpms. Correct idle speed and correct TPS calibration are what prevents the off idle flame out when blipping the throttle. Here’s a video on how to do the TPS calibration th-cam.com/video/HTp0ouECiCU/w-d-xo.html
I cannot help but think that the initial stress of hacking off the stock plate bracket, directionals and brake light on a brand new bike followed by destroying a license plate as a direct consequence and then whatever issues arise next due to hacking-up the electrical harness or because a driver behind you cannot tell what the hell those little bunched-up lights are even supposed to mean- Is worth even considering that “Mod” anymore. She’s looking and sounding great in the mean-time tho. Also FMF has a nice little heat shield for megabomb- Look around for it if you have not yet. Cool vid.
Looks like the 12oclock labs kit. Doesn't require any hacking at all of parts or the electric connectors. It also comes with hardware so not sure why he didn't include everything. Nothing is destroyed and you can just pop back ugly stock tail and blinkers if you want.
A 450X header can be ordered from Honda. Almost half the cost, and you can mount the stock heat shield onto the X header.

How much do these upgrades increase the torque and hp vs stock numbers?
Hi, as a CRF450LX owner (in Australia), with a Vortex & FMF, what settings on the Vortex have you settled on ??
