    I agree with you regarding the artsy way of doing the journalling. I like to keep things simple so as not to be distracted.

      I'm not an artsy person so it wasn't helping me at all when I tried it.

    Thanks Amanda. This is a great training on verse mapping. I have been verse mapping for a while and have watched a lot of videos on verse mapping. I think yours is definitely one of the best. It is clean and simple and covers all of the basics. I like using a notebook like what you did in your video instead of purchasing special verse mapping journals. I would suggest starting on the left hand page and not having to flip it over to the other page. This will lay out the map so you can see it all together. Good job, I am looking forward to viewing more of your videos.

    I never really understood verse mapping - until now. Others have made it seem so complicated. Thank you!

    I like to verse map. I find it often helps me to get a better understanding of the message the author is trying to convey. Thanks for showing me your method. You do it a little differently than I do so I'm going to add your extra step. I'm sure it will be very helpful! Thanks Amanda!

    Have you used the Verse Mapping study method before? What strategies do you use in your study time?

  • @krissyt6683

    I look up the definition of different words and write them down, and use them to re-write the verse. Pretty much the same as you but I haven’t tried using cross references. I’ve seen a lot of videos on verse mapping but I like your method the best!

    • @iamamandabrown
      @iamamandabrown  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I like to rewrite verses using the definitions as well! It makes the scripture easier for me to comprehend.
      Thank you!

    Thanks for sharing. I prefer to map more than one verse at a time as sometimes you cannot get the true essence of what the verse is saying. I also in that regard do chapter mapping

    • @iamamandabrown
      @iamamandabrown  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Totally agree! Sometimes I map out the entire chapter because it reveals so much more.

    Hi! Good video. I've seen it a couple of times already and will probably watch it again to get a better understanding of this particular method of verse mapping.
    I've wanted to study the Bible for years now, but I just don't understand how to do it, and with there being _so many_ videos on verse mapping alone, it's really confusing to know which method is best.
    Question:
    Where does interpretation fall into this particular version of verse mapping, or does it? If not, why not? Wouldn't one have to know how to interpret scripture properly in order to apply it properly?
    I hope to hear back from you and I thank you so much for your time.
    Maranatha!

    • @iamamandabrown
      @iamamandabrown  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thank you and that is a great question you asked. The interpretion piece would fit in where you dig deeper after you write a couple related verses. :)

    • @dinerdashing
      @dinerdashing หลายเดือนก่อน

      Oh I see. Okay, well maybe I'll give that a try. Just one last question if I may:
      I want to try this; just something, _some_ kind of Bible study to get started and hopefully, become good at it and confident that I know what I'm doing. But I'm really afraid to try, and here is what scares me about even trying:
      What if I interpret the verse incorrectly? What if my interpretation of a verse is different from somebody else's? Does that mean that one of us is wrong? I understand that while a verse can have many applications, there can only be one correct _interpretation_ of that same verse. Is that correct? Thank you for your time.
