This is kind of how I like to take notes/study when reading the bible. Sometimes I do a structured study but a lot of the time I just like to read and see what the Holy Spirit wants to reveal to me. Thanks Amanda!
Thank you for this video it open my eyes to a simple way to understand the bible. 🎉 I tried this for a chapter and wow.❤ it makes more understanding. Thank you for the video. May God bless you and your family. And for the lord to keep using your videos to help his children❤ to understand the bible more.❤🎉
I haven't heard of this study method before, and I am going to try it with the same scripture, and four of my bibles.... How blessed to be born in a culture where we can purchase bibles freely and also have so many different translations and paraphrased at our fingertips ... I liked your style of talking so I just subscribed. Thank you sort his video.
I am currently reading through the Bible chronologically in a year...about 3 chapters per day. I just started doing this with Joshua and I am LOVING IT. I had never heard of using this method for studying scripture but this works perfectly and I will be using it not only for my chronological study but others also.
I think this is going to work better for me . Not to complicated , easy 3 step method. Old school😊 Notes Highlights Summarize I've been trying chapter mapping ,verse mapping, and word mapping 😅 I like words so looking up and defining words is all right .
I’m happy to hear that! I’ve been showing a variety of methods because everyone learns differently and there isn’t a perfect method that works for every single person. You have to use what works for you. 😊
Hi Amanda. I do like the Cornell Method because it allows the flexibility of people’s study preferences. It visually draws the eye to the bulletin points in the left column and summarising our understanding of the passage helps us to remember it and apply it in our lives.
So crazy I never thought to use this method in Bible studying. I kinda do this now I just never thought of it as the Cornell method. Thanks for the video ❤
Hello! My first time on your channel and found this so helpful. It simplified something I've implemented this entire year, of inductive Bible notes. I write and study every day, using methods I learned from various materials this year,. I've been following a similar method for the study points, but I didn't know what to call it. I have never placed the information into this sectioned format, just lined on the page as I go through the steps. Lately I've been using separate pages for key words and definitions, and another page for questions and answers I find, and another for thoughts and summary. I like your method for having an observations sheet, more like a condensed overview of the study. Thank you so much! Liked and subscribed
Yes, I agree, it's a wonderful easy-to-use method. It's what I've used for regular note-taking in the past 2-3 years. It works for my thinking style, so why not for Bible study! it never occurred to me! doh! My only change would be substituting 'summary' with 'life application', because it suits the purpose well. Hot diggity I look forward to my next Bible study session! thank you so much for the idea, Amanda. Bless you 🎉
You’re welcome! That’s a great idea to call it life application. Thats definitely a better description for using that section. Enjoy your next Bible study session!
I've never used this method before, but I'm going to try it. I believe it will be a great way to organize my thoughts! Thanks for the video it really helps me to know how to start. ❤
I was not familiar with this method but think it will be very helpful. I will check out your other videos on Bible study to see if one of them resonates more closely with my style, but I really like this. This is the first video of yours that I have seen. I have been struggling with worry/anxiety over the last few weeks, and then this shows up in my feed. God is good.
I don’t know if I have used it for Bible studies, though I do remember using it for my studies in school. It was very helpful for me to get the information out of the block of text in my books. Whichever one of my teachers had the foresight of teaching it to us in the late 80s or early 90s, I am fully grateful for that lesson and it definitely was part of my deep dive in learning how to learn stuff. Thank you for sharing your application of this method to Bible study. Another way to use the summary section that I thought you were going to go towards is the way the passage is helpful for your own life in your daily practice of doing the things that you’re doing. So in trusting God to take care of you, maybe how you would put that into your summary statement as a personal way of reminding yourself what the lesson of the passage is about.
Not that I thought you would share your deepest worries with us on internet, but yeah, that’s just an example with this particular passage of the Bible. 🥰 now I feel like I have the need to go cover my head with a blanket and hide because I have shared too many words… ah well. The emoji is sweating hearts of embarrassment, in my interpretation.
Thank you so much and you’re welcome! You are right, that is a great way to use the summary section and also correct that I didn’t want to share anything too personal. Sometimes I struggle with finding a balance in my Bible study videos on how much to share, but not wanting to over share on such a public platform. 😬 I truly appreciate your comment and you don’t need to go into hiding. I enjoyed reading everything you wrote. ☺️
I just love it ❤ it’s so easy to understand I’ve been searching for something like this omg found it thank you 🙏🏽 so much it means a lot now I can learn more 😢 God bless you I just love how patient you are with your teaching many of this videos make it so difficult well at least for someone like me 😊😂 thank thank you 🙏🏽

I use a few different ways. Currently my husband and I are studying the book of Romans so we read and study one chapter a week. Sometimes I study the scriptures from church, which is why I chose this specific passage for this video. I have also used reading plans or chose based on a specific topic I want to study.
@@iamamandabrown that helps. I’m currently in 1 Samuel .. doing one chapter a day. Of just reading. I’m not sure how to really study it. I’ve tried the SOAP method but I’m not sure every time I read there’s a scripture that sticks out to me.

This is definitely the first method, hopefully only method I will use as I study and learn the Bible for my first time. Thank you.
