I have never felt like I was flying more than on this ride. Add in some fun theming, an amazing view of the CT River and you have one of the best amusement park experiences one can enjoy.
If any of you are scared about the drop/lift. If ur scared about the lift just look at the pond to ur left. It's really a good thing to distract u from the fact that ur going up a 200 foot lift. If ur scared about the drop it isn't that bad and it goes by fast.
the drop absolutely is that bad lmfao and it doesn't help that there's nothing to comfortably hold on to!! undeniably excellent coaster and sooooo nice and smooth once the ride is going but that full minute lift is just unbearable even with the lovely views lol
I’m so happy my parents brought me to this park growing up, I remember the first year that came out was an amazing ride still is, nothing beats the park when it’s quiet just get on and ride and ride and ride
I’ve been on a ton of roller coasters up the east coast, and none of them compare to that first drop. I had season passes to this six flags for a few years and we went on a Tuesday that was a little rainy, and the park was empty. Me and. Friend rode this coaster 11 times back to back. I couldn’t sleep that night because I had the spins.
Literally lmao. Every time it’s slowly inching up I start launching into this panicking monologue and having an existential crisis, I’m literally like what have I done in my life up to this point to lead to this, how did I end up here?!
@@DannytheTourist yeah I agree, not all restraints are created equal. I've found a good way to ride Superman, you just don't want to get stapled so you want to find a comfortable spot for the restraint before the ops come up then push against it when they try to staple you. Then when going up the lift hill put your hands to your sides or the weight of your arms will push the restraint down with gravity. It's a terrible dance you have to do to not get possible thigh bruising, restraints should never be like that. That's why I love the B&M "clamshell" restraint, it's so comfortable you could fall asleep in it if you tried 😂👍
@IDC-jh3tx I've heard it's a mixed bag- kinda depends on the person, the ride op who may or may not staple you (they're getting better with that!), and your thighs where the restraint rests. I'm 6'3" and have ridden it enough to know exactly where I like the restraint. Best advice, put on your seat belt and put the restraint where you want it before the ride op comes by, then make sure to press against the restraint when they come to push down on it- usually they'll leave it where it is and you'll be all good. Also don't put your hands on the restraint going up the lift hill or gravity will tighten it for you 👍 lol sorry so long winded, just love this ride to pieces and know how to ride it great over the past 3 years and 100+ rides 🤘❤️
This thing is so powerful that my legs were purple afterwards because of how hard my lap bar had come down. Absolutely amazing. When the airtime hurts, you KNOW it's good.
They didn’t hurt my legs all the times I’ve been on it fortunately, but I definitely felt safe and secure which is always great! All the rides at this park are quite safe
Superman the Ride's layout is absolutely elite. Often overshadowed by and forgotten because of Millennium Force and Intimidator 305, but I actually think Superman has the best layout of the 3, unless you prefer speed and height on a coaster, then MF/I-305 are no-brainers. You know a coaster has world-class air time when you can almost feel it while watching its pov on TH-cam. It absolutely hauls over those air time hills and NO annoying trim brakes(except for the one at the very end) to ruin it, like on B&Ms.
I literally just got back from six flags New England I’m at my hotel tomorrow I’m coming again tomorrow six flags keep up the good workmanship New England six flags!!❤😊😊 0:44 😊
This used to be my home park until I moved to Florida 5 years ago. Even through I live only a 2 1/2 hour drive from Orlando, I still prefer Six Flags New England for it's roller coasters,
I love how the ride up the first hill is really slow just like Nitro at Great Adventure, which gives enough time to rethink your life decisions. But on Superman they at least play epic music before the train drops.
Back in the day, this and Millennium Force were the top rides. I personally think Millennium aged a bit better on the front seat but this is great still. Nowadays, there's so many and different ride preferences that there's no real top 5 or top 2 like it was back then.
Yeah its got a variable speed lift hill, I was just on it earlier and it took a min for the train behind to clear the last sensor so we creeped up maybe the first 4th of the hill then the chain kicked in as well as the music and off it went! One of the best rides out there, that and Wicked Cyclone are pretty much an unbeatable pair when you put the two together! 👍🤘

Have you seen the new paint on the Superman's trains at Six Flags New England? The new colors really pop I really like it. You could tell that the paint on Superman's trains were getting quite old and starting to get beat up by the lap bars. You can see the yellow stripe on the lead car that matches the color of the edge of the platform really good. I really like the new vinyl that Six Flags put on the seats! It's pretty soft to feel. The lap bars in my opinion are a down grade because Six Flags put new ones on some of the seats and when they release in the station, a lot of the times riders can't pull them up. It's super sad to see the ride crew struggle too to pull up the lap bars. Sometimes if you wait too long to leave you seat the lap bar will lock back down and the ride crew has to tell the ride operator to release the lap bar.
