The fact that shoe designers and manufacturers are FINALLY acknowledging the fact that a vast amount of women need wide width shoes is such a relief. I can't tell you how many times I've dislocated toes from forcing my feet into "normal" width toe boxes.
I'm a landscaper with feet that are too small for men's shoes, the women's enforced toe work boot offerings are already extremely limited, but on top of that they're almost all extremely narrow in the toe box. So not only is it a narrow toe box, it's a narrow toe box that's also literally made out of steel or some other composite material!!!
I don't have any physical disabilities, but the fact that you have them available in 13US just makes my day! I can never find high quality feminine shoes in my size. Yay!
I "only" need US 12, but have still mostly used men's shoes for about a decade. It will be interesting to discover if some models will have room for my potato-like big toes - it would be nice to have one good pair of black shoes and another pair brown that I could wear from weddings to wakes.
I wear an 11, usually an 11 wide, so it's a crap shoot whether my size is available or not. I also have weird duck feet where the front of my foot spreads out a lot but I have narrow heels, which makes it hard to find a good fit. For tennis shoes I've given up and have just been getting men's, and that's been working fine, but I have very little luck finding "pretty" shoes. I am in desperate need of some dress shoes (my last pair, some flats that are well over a decade old and have seen a lot of use, are crumbling) so I'm strongly considering ordering these. (Even with the discount they're still a little pricey for me, but quality and longevity are worth considering. Plus I love Jessica.)
As an occupational therapist we advice People with foot drop to go to a shoemaker and ask them to make a hardplastic sole on the front of this foot. It´s life changing.
Yes! My father had drop foot from a spinal injury and had a custom sole on his right shoe so he didn’t fall on his face when walking on carpet. He definitely couldn’t walk as well as Jessica, for sure. 😂 Generally, he wore moccasins at home, as we had tile floors, but he wore his custom pair to work. He always used a cane as well, for stability.
I tried really hard to write auf Deutsch weil ich Austauschen Schüler und Studentin 30 years ago and I miss it but I can’t remember exactly how to write my question. What kind of shoes can get this? I have Degenerative Disc Disease and now have foot drop. I have had some serious falls and my family doesn’t want me to go places alone. Thank you for your advice and help! 😊
@ipacarrollread ask your local shoecraftman (i like to create new words) which Kind of shoes he prefers to handle. But also listen to your body. My shoes have to be comfy but also stabelise my ankle.... Prioritise(?) your needs.
Havent finished the vid yet but I went to the site while viewing- half the shoes are called "Jessie" and the other half are called "Claud"?? That is SO cute???? ❤
I, too, have EDS, and I once dislocated my ankle stepping off the sidewalk. It really made me feel better about myself when I had the epiphany that I am NOT my body, I am just IN my body. ❤️
Oh gosh yes! That used to happen to me! But I sprained my ankles so much that they're essentially elastic. Upside, they don't sprain anymore. Downsides, the ligaments have gone to pot *sigh*. Just EDS things I suppose (no less annoying).
Another person with EDS here! I like to think of myself and my body as a team. Even if its best is not very good, I know it does its best and I try to remember that. Still sucks though. Also, once I walked on a broken leg for three weeks because I thought it was just my ankle dislocating all the time. Whoops! 😅
Shitty ankle EDS gang make some noise! The worst part of it is when I sprain one/both of my ankles while running *very short* distance to catch a bus or a tram, cause then for sure I'm not only not getting said bus, but also will have trouble walking for an undisclosed length of time - maybe it'll pass in 5 minutes or maybe I'll still be floppy and aching next day x.x It's so common that I kinda barely notice it? I've had people gravely concerned about me when I f*cked up my ankle while walking with them and each time I have to spend hours convincing them that "No, it's okay, I don't need ER, that's just my legs, they just do that, it'll pass", because if I was going to the ER each time one of my joints was acting up, I'd have to live there. But the plus side is that I can freak the living shit out of people with how bendable and flexible I can be. I could play in Exorcist remake, no CGI or SFX needed XD
Completely regardless of all the innovative inclusive features, these shoes are objectively gorgeous. Functional fashion can often be lacking in the visual appeal but you’ve outdone yourself with these masterpieces
They don't work for my feet because i got a permanently broken sesamoid bone, due to an accident, i need specially made orthopedic shoes. HOWEVER; This is amazing and we need more of this, like instantly, in any catagory and everywhere
Jessica…. 😭😭😭 I have US size 13 feet and I’ve never been able to buy American Duchess’ 20th century shoes because they never come in large sizes (some of the older styles that are gender neutral come in larger sizes, but that’s not my style)…. BUT YOUR GORGEOUS SHOES COME IN MY SIZE!!!!! 😭😭😭😭 I have DREAMED about getting shoes from American Duchess for YEARS now. This might finally be my chance 🥹🥹 Thank you thank you thank you for helping to design a shoe that’s accessible not just for differently-abled people, but also differently-shaped/sized folks too!!! 🥹❤️❤️❤️
I have messaged American Duchess before to know if they offered wide fits and they didnt before your collection. Thank you so much from all of us with wide and/or perticular feets! We can now look fabulous with shoes that actually fit 😊
OK I went thru so many emotions watching this video. I've been eyeing American Duchess shoes for yrs but as a fellow drop foot girlie with wide feet I knew they wouldn't work for me. I'm not sure these will either but I might have to give the Claude a try bc its just gorgeous. Also round of applause for the accessibility of the quick release buckles. It's such a small things but it really matters to those of us who need it.
Ugh how dare you??? I got married earlier this year and these would have PERFECT. As someone with slightly wide feet whose ankles just flip occasionally while walking, and who loves feminine details and natural materials, these look amazing
We need companies to offer for people to buy single shoes. Some running shoe companies already do it because a running blade doesn’t get a shoe put on it. But I really don’t get why it’s not all shoes that get offered as singles.
Thiiiiiissss. I don't even have a lower limb difference, but my feet are two different sizes. Non-standard sizing rampancy aside, it's like one foot is a size 5 US while the other is a size 5.5 US. Others have more extreme foot-size differences. I get why fast fashion slop-makers don't do it, but at the very least, reputable brands should offer it regularly. And high-end brands? For them, it should be default. Instead, automation is once again making life harder for ordinary people. I searched, and there's not a single shoemaker in my city. Hundreds of thousands of people, and not one of them can hand-craft shoes. I'm finna get some leather and an awl and do it myself. Luckily, my area has the rare and elusive small-scale rubber manufacturer that I can speak with about making some soles. It'll take me months, but I'll have my own dang shoes.
Because shoes are manufactured as doubles and no self respecting retailer will sell singles because they can't sell the other shoe then. You want just 1 shoe, go to a cobbler and have them handmake the single shoe for you. You want mass produced cheap singles? Not possible.
I was looking for heels for my wedding this year, and as someone with EDS and a love for vintage fashion I am so excited to see this. I have probably looked at over 50 different websites and could not find a good shoe for my edwardian/art nouveau wedding that accommodated my disabilities. More heels like this need to exist!
Omg. Thank you for making the strap quick release and easily done up in the middle of the foot! I find it so difficult doing up some straps because my legs cannot bend the way typical shoe makers think. These shoes are gorgeous and look so practical! Would love to see The Jessie in that pale blue one day!
I do love the little hook instead of a functional buckle. I've got a pair with that feature and you can still use the buckle for sizing but you only have to do that once, then it's the much easier hook closure every time after that.
I've never seen the quick release buckles before but I imagine they would help with my hand dexterity issues and range of movement issues due to arthritic hip.
If you are in a position to do so, highly recommend an orthotist to make some foot and ankle braces to help with the drop foot-I’m a fellow EDS zebra with a high arch and wide foot, and both of my feet drop. An orthotist was able to add a little spring to my foot and ankle braces that pulls the front of my foot up if I don’t have weight on it, and it has made my life so much better. Less tripping, less falling, less foot pain, better walking. The shoes look gorgeous, I’m going to have a look and see if they’ll fit my wonky feet too! I’m a 10WW at the best of times with a high arch and thick balls of my feet. I also have AFOs and compression socks to squeeze in, so shoes have been an ongoing issue for me. I’m so excited for this collection!
I already have four pairs of american duchess. My londoners got COVERED in mould and I as well as american duchess thought they were ruined but with their advice of dipping in vinegar water mix i managed to salvage them!! Their shoes and support are amazing. And now i want some Jessies!!!
I'm so very pleased to see a disabled creator get this collab! Finally! So excited to watch this video and find out what you ended up making and how they might be accessible to people like us. :)
Im sad I've come to this video so late in the game. but Im also glad I came across it at all. I've been window shopping American Duchess but generally can't wear anything but Brooks sneakers now because I have to have so much support since a foot injury in 2018. I'm going to go look at your shoes right now and hope they're in stock.
As someone with disabilities who avoided heels , and JUST found this video of yours ( and asking myself how I missed it) I am looking up your shoes, because a wide shoe, in perfect fun colours! Sign me up! ❤❤❤
The biggest comfort issue I've had with AD has been the lack of cushioning in their shoes which I do get since it's not accurate to the eras they cover and my feet are too wide to fit any sort of padding inside but I do wish there were a way to get that. Glad so many other accessibility and comfort issues were addressed with these, they sound wonderful!
@@Meskarune I'm not sure that would work for me; I already buy two sizes (US) large in womens' shoes to account for how wide my feet are, one size up in mens', not sure I can really keep going up without my feet falling out the top/slipping down into the toe.
I don't know how I missed this video previously, but this wide foot girl is beyond excited that wides are now available. I have MS which means walking issues as well and they're coming out with a wider flats range which is perfect even if not 100% historically accurate.
1:20 Something (everything) about this button-down/non-dangly pearls/voluminous hair combo is giving "power walked right out of a vintage office film reel" and it's so satisfying. Your dresses are gorgeous but this look hit me with some crazy nostalgia.
I didn't expect to love both shoes SO MUCH! I hope you get plenty of sales, I know I would love to have both in multiple colors, and they're priced very reasonably for what they are, but I can't justify it with my budget and lack of actual need for new shoes. My mom's been looking for new shoes, has a bigger budget than I, and will be very excited to see the Wides, however 👀
Disability has made pretty shoes almost impossible to find. I am so glad these are well made with us in mind. I especially like the buckles, as I also usually need help with regular ones.
I snorted out loud at the Cats and Dogs screenshot! (My Sims mostly wear custom content but those flats do make an appearance now and then.) This is very exciting project and the shoes are gorgeous!
Thank you so much for including a wide! I am going to cry. Nobody makes wides, and I have a 7eee so I can't even stretch a pair of shoes to fit! This is so cool! Also they're beautiful!
It's great that they do wide fit, I just wish that they did narrow fit too! I think the only place that does adult shoes with actual width fittings is Clarks and even they have a very limited selection in my size (and most of those don't work for me for other reasons).
As a queer person working with a shoe company I would ask that you please advocate for trans women who do not have any options for buying sensible feminine shoes in large sizes. I have also met cis women with the same size as me (eu47) so as always, accommodation for trans people will also help cis people more. The shoes available to the trans femme community are largely, poorly made platform stiletto boots targeted at drag queens. The whole community would love if this shoe company were able to make a few options in large enough sizes. The trans femme community and our cisters with large feet are left to wear gender neutral boots and sneakers. I know how much being a "heels lesbian" matters to you, please use your platform to help enable us to join you.
How cool! I'm not even much of a shoe person but the shoes are lovely. Sadly, I need something with more arch support, but I have "duck feet" (wide at the toes, skinny heel) and I can very much relate to shoes not staying on without a strap! So that's really cool that you were able to include so many features that I'm sure will be helpful for a lot of people.
I too have a condition where I have balance issues. Chunkier heels are best for those problems. Thank you for the recommendations! Sketchers makes a ballet flat with the engineering of a sneaker. They’re worth every penny. I love them so much!
I have so so narrow and kinda long feet and a lot of times shoes just make me sad because I never find pretty ones that fit me. I am a ballroom dancer and I have literally been told there aren't any dance shoes made for narrow feet. I would be incredibly happy if some brands would incorporate a line of narrow shoes. I dream of owning something like those pretty vintage shoes. Love your innovative of just making shoes that fit!
Salvatore Ferragamo has narrow shoes, but obviously they are very expensive. I frequently find them on Thredup though (I wear a US size 10- not the largest but definitely above average).
I’m excited! I do LUVZ me some American Duchess shoes, but I too have foot drop and wide feet so I’m looking forward to getting myself shod in some Jessies and Claudes!
My left foot is semi-paralyzed from nerve damage so I completely understand FLOPPY FOOT!!! My toes just don’t have enough sensation or tactile control to keep shoes on my foot so this is amazing! I’m happy to know I’m not the only one with this problem but sad other people go through it too. 😅
Ooooh finally! I saw them on the AD website and was wondering when the video was going to come out! They made me regret that I‘m a historical guy and not a vintage guy, they look so lovely!!!
These are the cutest shoes ever!! I tend to get dizzy when I bend over, so having an easy buckle like that sounds heavenly! No more room spins when putting on my shoes? Awesomeness!! 💗Thank you, Miss Jessica and American Duchess!! I'll have to check these shoes out!! **hopes if they sell well, American Duchess will make cute boots too that also come in wide calf sizes**
I was shook at the idea of pink heels. My other two pairs are neutral colors. I justified the pre-order by throwing out an old pair of shoes I haven't worn in over a year. What an impulse purchase and a surprise for me later on in the year. lol
😮 I wear platforms for the same reason! I cannot wear flat shoes because I will fall. The sole of the toe has to be curled up because I will trip. I can’t wear pumps because my calves will spasm and ankle will rotate. Well… I won’t say it never rotates in platforms but it’s much more rare of an occurrence than non-platform heels. I think that it’s absolutely amazing you’ve created this line. They’re so stunning. And it’s just so inspiring to see someone with similar physical disability as me creating inclusive clothing that spark such joy.
😍 Excited, inquisitive and so glad I found this! Same issues here with foot drop, spreading, nerve damage and long ago resigned to my only options being “ugly” slip on shoes, velcro adjustments bla bla……… This video has actually given me a spark of “hope” which is a word that’s been to long absent from my vocabulary. THANK YOU!
Very nice, Jessica! I’ve been wearing nothing BUT rubber crocs for years because of mobility issues and the fact that they’re much easier to put on, but after seeing the shoes you’ve designed with American Duchess, I want to try them out.
I just found this video after watching Bernadette Banner's most recent video. I also follow American Duchess, Nicole Rudolph, & Abby Cox plus I have hEDS so the algorithms got this one right! I have broken an ankle practicing a beam routine on the FLOOR, shifting my weight foot to foot wearing those Sketchers Shape Ups, and most recently on my driveway (along with my opposite big toe.) So I've been living in combat boots with a back zip, flat velcro sandals, and tennis shoes but now need hands-free options due to bending and twisting issues. I am so glad Kiziks inspired more disability -friendly styles and extatic that AD has gotten that measage with your help!
5:46 I have decreased strength and dexterity in my hands these days so I've found to get good tension on a bow, once you've passed the left lace under the right, pass it under again and it will stay tight so you can finish off the bow. This is using the principle of a surgeon's knot.
I have hallux rigidis; can only wear ugly runners. So impressed with your problem solving and passion. Can't do a toe bend, but hoping you create a pretty shoe that may work
I love vintage shoes. Hearing about your feet made me research and realize that my whole family has different symptoms of EDS, none of us diagnosed. Stunning to realize there's a medical explanation for my family's unique traits!
I’m a costume designer for the stage and I’m a stickler for the shoes to be time period accurate. More stable shoes are great for the stage especially when there is dancing. I find so many costumers forget about the shoes, but to me it makes such a difference. I’m also disabled. I have degenerative disc disease, fibromyalgia, and carpel tunnel, and the older I get the more I loose feeling in my legs and feet on occasion. I haven’t been assessed for ehlers danlos but I have a feeling it is possible I might have that as well. I also have extremely narrow feet so the fact that a good bit of these have straps and ties is amazing.
Congrats on getting shoes that work for you and thank you so much for making shoemakers aware of these issues!!!! I hope that hidden accessibility modifications become more common not just with AD, but industry wide sometime in the near future. If you ever get the chance to design more, I dream of finding black T strap shoes with a 1/2"-1.25" chunky heel. I have EDS with narrow, highly pronating feet, weak ankles/knees, and an exceptionally high arch when resting, so shoes that are totally flat OR with high heels, without space for high arch insoles, and without straps or ties don't work for me. I know so many zebras with the same issue and a love for period shoes who would adore you forever if you are ever able to make that happen!!! 💚
I also have different sized feet (40 and 41) and with my dance shoes I typically use a toe pad on the smaller foot, I think that could also work well with slip-on heels
I’m so pleased you get to work with a sponsor that’s so perfect for your channel, Jessica! Your passion for historical fashion really shines and I’m so happy for you! I can’t wait to see where you go next.
I love that these will work for wide feet! I also have arthritis and now carpel tunnel so having shoes that would be easier for me to put on and off would be great. I’m actually going to buy at least a pair of each, but the Jessie’s are super cute even if I’m not much of a heel girlie. ♥️ Please collab more!!!
I recently bought two pairs of American Duchess shoes. A pair of heels and a pair of flats. I love wearing them. The heels are a 1940s style that goes great with jeans. The flats are just lovely. The sizing was a little tricky but I got it in the end. When I saw the email that they had collaborated with Jess I was so excited.
After you said "higher arch and a strap that grips your foot" I immediately thought of the original Chaco Flips. I could do anything in those flip flops! I have EDS as well, plus some MS and a couple other acronyms 😅. I'm just saying, check those out if you want an incredible flip flop sandal to add to your collection. They even have their "athletic" line of sandals that are light years better than Teva if you don't like straps between your toes, but I have found that even their Chaco Flips with Vibram soles (or their branded equivalent) are just as athletic! Back when I could run - those puppies stayed practically glued to my feet. Hell, I even lived in a tree for 6 months (bloody incredible experience! 10/10 would absolutely recommend) and I could climb that big ol' oak with absolute confidence. Highly recommend for all my fellow spoonies ❤
I have EDS with flexible but very flat feet. I feel more comfortable in heels especially with a higher arch. Lower heels give me arch pain and I tend to pronate/spread a lot in totally flat shoes
@SobrietyandSolace yeah, Chaco's have a pretty aggressive arch. It's like having some old Swedish masseuse shove their fist in your arch. Just thinking about it makes me giddy 🤩
I’m not a big shoe person but these are gorgeous!! The dusty blue is such a beautiful color. Thank you for making wide versions, I have such a hard time finding shoes that fit.
congratulations Jessica! the shoes are absolutely gorgeous, I can't wait to get my feet in them soon! The pictures on your Instagram got me so excited because the shoes look so comfortable and the size range is incredibly inclusive so yay! I hope it sells well and more colours become available eventually. 17:12 adorable golf cart jessie and claud
thank you thank you for having my big size 13 :3 I have wide flat no arch feet and i love them. I am going to have to save up for the claudes. I don't have the depth perception or confidence for the heeled but they are beautiful all the same
I don’t do vintage fashion personally but those heels are to die for! Especially as someone with neuropathy it’s hard to find heels that work for me. I can’t wait for my heels to arrive. Thank you for making inclusive shoes 💛
Thank you! My feet are a constant issue for me. I had to give up on cute shoes entirely and, no joke, I wear hiking shoes from Solomon with EVERYTHING. They are the only shoes have found that don't cause my metatarsal bones in my feet to dislocate. 'Yes, please!' to shoes that grip my feet and are CUTE
So random thing with me, I found your videos because of the sims! Lol. A video was talking about disability representation and custom content and had mentioned your channel, and it wasn't the EnglishSimmer either!
I really appreciate how there’s wider sizes because I have extremely wide feet and shopping for women’s shoes in my size is a nightmare because it’s so hard to find shoes that fit my feet! I missed the preorder period, but if they’re still selling them, I’ll consider giving it a look! If not, I’ll be on the lookout for any other new opportunities of you putting forth more shoe designs! I was looking for nicer (non sports like) shoes to wear for other occasions. And you are absolutely right! Beauty doesn’t have to mean pain! Designing heels with comfort in mind is honestly a huge flex on your part! And it looks really cute! Glad to hear that you got to make shoes that fit your needs and is sharing it with everyone!
I went and clicked and this is the first time I've seen dress shoes I have a hope of wearing, as I can't really wear any heel, but, the 0.5 inch heel on the vintage flats I should be able to wear! And the quick-release buckles make me -so- happy, no more struggling with buckles!
Cotton balls can be placed in the toes of the shoes to help with adjusting the fit. I had a pair of shoes that fit too loose and I needed to tighten the fit slightly. It’s a retro fifties trick and it does work
RE: tension on the bow. surgeon's knot and square knot. A surgeon's knot is the basic half hitch everyone knows and uses to start a bow BUT wrapped a second time so the laces grip each other and are less prone to loose tension when finishing the bow. A square knot is difficult to describe in text but plenty of diagrams can be found with a quick google search or trip to the library for a book on knots, sailing, or a scout's manual. It's two half hitches tied in opposing directions, by treating the loops of the bow as the line for the second half of the knot is makes a very secure tie.
Omg I want these shoes so bad! They definitely address issues I have with shoes, especially ladies' dress shoes. And even for those of us who have good dexterity, those little buckles suck so much so believe me when I say that I love that they are accessible (so much) but it's also just great universal design. Fantastic job Jessica. I hope these sell really well! They certainly deserve to!
Wow these skirts you wear are so flattering. Idk if they might be dresses too but the way the fabrics flow when you move 😭 the general construction! They just sit so well! I need more full skirts so I can feel like this! So feminine and cute
I have VEDS, I’m hyper mobile, I have flat feet and need a rounded toe box-all in a size 12 (43)! One foot is an 11.5 due to surgery, but I usually manage with 12. I can’t wait to try these shoes!!!!
I love my Bernadette shoes! Sadly, I will have to wait and save to get a pair of Clauds. We're currently living on one income and preparing for a big trip next month. You designed two beautiful pairs of shoes. I'm looking forward to seeing pictures of them "in the wild".
The fact that shoe designers and manufacturers are FINALLY acknowledging the fact that a vast amount of women need wide width shoes is such a relief. I can't tell you how many times I've dislocated toes from forcing my feet into "normal" width toe boxes.

American Duchess is such a great company. I've been a fan of them for years, and it's been great to watch them expand like this.
It isn’t a fashion label’s job though. Respectfully.
I don't have any physical disabilities, but the fact that you have them available in 13US just makes my day! I can never find high quality feminine shoes in my size. Yay!
Accessibility helps everyone!!! Hope you find the perfect shoes! ❤❤
@@amandadeloff4278 I'm so close with an EU 47 which I think is 14.5 inn US Women's. I wish I could be a heels lesbian!
I "only" need US 12, but have still mostly used men's shoes for about a decade. It will be interesting to discover if some models will have room for my potato-like big toes - it would be nice to have one good pair of black shoes and another pair brown that I could wear from weddings to wakes.

I wear a 12 and I have to get custom or men’s shoes. This is awesome!
As an occupational therapist we advice People with foot drop to go to a shoemaker and ask them to make a hardplastic sole on the front of this foot. It´s life changing.
How much is that? I have a disability causing drop foot
@JessieMcConkey-v8d It depends on where you are. Ask your local. :) greetings from germany!
Yes! My father had drop foot from a spinal injury and had a custom sole on his right shoe so he didn’t fall on his face when walking on carpet. He definitely couldn’t walk as well as Jessica, for sure. 😂 Generally, he wore moccasins at home, as we had tile floors, but he wore his custom pair to work. ikr!!!
I saw American Duchess a few years ago from Bernadette Banner.
I have coveted all the shoes.
Very cute but very expensive.
I, too, have EDS, and I once dislocated my ankle stepping off the sidewalk. It really made me feel better about myself when I had the epiphany that I am NOT my body, I am just IN my body. ❤️

"Im not my body, Im just in it." Is a sentiment I can't linger on without getting teary. Its like a stinging balm over too many old wounds.
We got EDS too! Yeah we were listening to her talk and just kind of nodding lol, our ankles are so hypermobile
Another person with EDS here! I like to think of myself and my body as a team. Even if its best is not very good, I know it does its best and I try to remember that. Still sucks though. Also, once I walked on a broken leg for three weeks because I thought it was just my ankle dislocating all the time. Whoops! 😅

But the plus side is that I can freak the living shit out of people with how bendable and flexible I can be. I could play in Exorcist remake, no CGI or SFX needed XD

They don't work for my feet because i got a permanently broken sesamoid bone, due to an accident, i need specially made orthopedic shoes.
HOWEVER; This is amazing and we need more of this, like instantly, in any catagory and everywhere
SO HAPPY for a dressy flat with a strap!!! I like that because it helps keep them on my feet, all other flats the back of my heel immediately pops out
Yes! This!
Even relatively tiny US11s are hard to find!
I have messaged American Duchess before to know if they offered wide fits and they didnt before your collection.
Thank you so much from all of us with wide and/or perticular feets! We can now look fabulous with shoes that actually fit 😊
If I wore heels, or "pretty shoes" of any type, I would *absolutely* wear the Jessie. They're stunning!! (That wine colour is perfection!)
You should be able to order them in.
Because they can't sell the other shoe then.
@ they can manufacture just one. They don’t have to make both….. isn’t that obvious?
@@Draggonny Yes! It means I don't need help doing my buckle up all the time.
I've never seen the quick release buckles before but I imagine they would help with my hand dexterity issues and range of movement issues due to arthritic hip.
if I understood her correctly, the middle foot strap was part of a sample and they changed it to buckle at the side
@@parkermae Yeah, but because the strap is removable, you can technically place the buckle in any position you want.
Exactly! Just because your shoes are sensible, doesn’t mean they can’t be SENSATIONAL! 🤩❤️👠
I'm so very pleased to see a disabled creator get this collab! Finally! So excited to watch this video and find out what you ended up making and how they might be accessible to people like us. :)
As a chronically ill disabled person myself, I’m in awe of how much you get done. These are beautiful!
I know Jessica is hypermobile, but her position at the :32 mark surprised me! Congratulations on the shoe line!
Update from today, most of the shoes are in stock, but the wide vintage pumps in black are the only ones sold out
As someone with disabilities who avoided heels , and JUST found this video of yours ( and asking myself how I missed it) I am looking up your shoes, because a wide shoe, in perfect fun colours! Sign me up! ❤❤❤
I love their wine/oxblood colors. No idea why, but the retro and Edwardian styles always look so frickin' sharp in those colors
American dutchess has all my favorite people advertising them. I cant escape, its only a matter of time before i give in and buy all the shoes!
As a Lolita with EDS this excites me but I hear a lot of complaints about a drop in quality recently
You can get a larger size then add a cushion. ❤
I have MS which means walking issues as well and they're coming out with a wider flats range which is perfect even if not 100% historically accurate.
higher toebox options are amazing cause hammertoes that dislocate are a pain in the ass to buy shoes for. i end up mostly in combat boots
I pre ordered a pair of the Clauds as soon as I saw your post on instagram - I adore American Duchess and I’m *so excited* for when they arrive
I got Bernadette banners shoes from American duchess and they are the most gorgeous things I’ve ever seen, and very comfortable!
1:20 Something (everything) about this button-down/non-dangly pearls/voluminous hair combo is giving "power walked right out of a vintage office film reel" and it's so satisfying. Your dresses are gorgeous but this look hit me with some crazy nostalgia.
Ok, maybe I'm just in a Mood™, but every single outfit is hitting so good this video 😂💕
Just FYI, those cat shoes from the sims exist! T.U.K. makes them in both cowhide and plastic/vegan leather - I didn't even know they were in the sims!
The spiderweb ribbon design in the first set of prototype shoes really looked quite lovely!
This would be lovely and amazing 💖💖💖 🥿
this! 🙌
yes !!!
I didn't know about that but it makes so much sense! Cute shoes for bigger feet🎉
So much this ❤ also, cute shoes without a heel because I'm already pretty tall!
5:25 omg I want them. these would be amazing for maybe a feminine goth look with the sides looking like spiderwebs
🤩The moment we all have been waiting for, vintage shoes the final frontier❤ No wait we haven't dealt the diamonds👑
As a woman with EDS and very wide feet, who also wears heels, I am thrilled to see this collab. I can't wait to wear a pair!
I’m excited! I do LUVZ me some American Duchess shoes, but I too have foot drop and wide feet so I’m looking forward to getting myself shod in some Jessies and Claudes!
The quick release buckle is such a game changer, my goodness. Love these.
I LOVE that even the flats have a strap. I too slip out of shoes and am excited about these! So cute.
I love a spanish heel! As a wide foot girly, I love all the choices in a wide size. Beautiful collection!
I love that Claudia did the marketing photos! I just grabbed the Jessies in pink!
THANK YOU!
Same here. From spinal issues. She walks so well with her foot drop. I don't know how she does it!
I love the white "lacy" once with the bow, they are so cute😊
We're all watching the same channels, lol
Completely unrelated to shoes, but I love how you did your makeup in this video, especially at the part that starts at 0:57 :)
Oh my lord. I'm butch, but those brown leather ones make me want to wear heels!!
I’m stoked. I’m ridiculously stoked for these! As an autoimmune with a basket load of them, I desperately need good shoes!
Congratulation! Such beautiful shoes Jessica.
Holy shamolies! I love that quick release strap. I didn't even know that was a thing!
I have Cerebral Palsy, and I have drop foot too!! Glad to see I'm not alone
10:41 The sims was mentioned 🎉 and I agree the shoes look similar
I don't have the depth perception or confidence for the heeled but they are beautiful all the same
love that buckle. Is anyone surprised that they have bows . So happy for you .
I don't have hypermobility elsewhere in my body BUT MY FEET SPREAD. I'm so elated to hear someone else talk about this!
It’s a retro fifties trick and it does work
I adore American Duchess! I wish I could afford them. Because I have a slightly disturbing shoe need...ok obsession, especially for historical shoes.
The shoes look absolutely lovely. The care and thought that has been put in them shines through ❤
RE: tension on the bow. surgeon's knot and square knot.
Congratulations on the shoes!! Also I really love that your mother makes shoes. Never stop with the extra facts :)
My heart skipped a beat at the quick release buckles, who do I have to petition to to make those standard
Oh my gods, these are amazing, Jessie! The wine Jessies are GORGEOUS, I'm dying.
these are so pretty! and it's amazing that they're accessible for so many different people.
Such pretty shoes! So happy for you. 🎀💖🎀
Wow these skirts you wear are so flattering. Idk if they might be dresses too but the way the fabrics flow when you move 😭 the general construction! They just sit so well! I need more full skirts so I can feel like this! So feminine and cute
I love their shoes, they are lovely, and so comfortable, and the only dress shoes I wear! I'm so glad you are working with them.
You can always weave ribbons through the lattice to make straps if needed.
