Great video. Thank you for taking me down memory lane. My first car was a '70 Challenger R/T with a 383 Magnum. It was sublime with a black spoiler, black racing stripes, hood latches.....I loved it! The car was originally my older brother's but after his wife got pregnant he decided to make some changes and sold it to me. What great memories! I loved that car!!!

I can agree with the pre-72’ models being desirable across the board. I’ve always liked the Cuda’s, that being said Dodge has always tried to stay out one step ahead in the power department and be heavily drag strip oriented minus the viper. Awesome video!

Thanks brother! It was difficult finding anything after 72 with HP. There were a few cars (Nothing from Ford) and only a couple of Mopar's and a few Pontiac's. After 74 everything was a joke until the Grand National. I owned 3 GN's in 2 years during the late 80's.

Tony, Awesome job sharing the lineage on a product your not as familiar with, I think you did a great up job telling the story about them in such little time. Sure, I'm biased cuz that's my 09 in the end of it, it was a fun ride that day. You need to make a pass with me sometime. LOL.

Love the scenes from Vanishing Point. I remember the TV Show The Mod Squad, which also featured a 71 Challenger convertible which CC never really made that I know of.

It's really difficult to find footage from the early 70's and yes they made a 1970 Challenger Convertible. That was the ONLY year. I remember the Mod Squad but I can't remember the plot of a single episode. :)

After seeing your video on your buddy Joe's Challenger this was fun to watch as I have owned 74 Rallye 360 and a 70' Challenger Sixpack 4 speed, and a few years ago a 19' Scat pack Shaker 6 speed. The Challenger sure has had a long career after being dumped initially by mid 1974. I owned the 19' Challenger between my 15' GT/PP and 19' GT350. As an owner of a old school and a new school Challenger....I would not hesitate to back to the 70 model. Thanks for posting this special video..

I owned a 69 Super Bee 383 bench seat 4 speed, A 70 Challenger R/T 383 Auto, a 76 Duster Slant six (it was really nice cheap transport) that I sold to a buddy who drove it from 72K to 245K and few others. I haven't gone back to Dodge since the late 90's but i respect them for sure. Thanks for watching!

I had a 1972 Challenger with with the 318 engine in a light baby blue color, nice car at 17, forward 50 year’s and I ordered a 2022 Challenger ScatPack, 6.4 liter engine, WideBody, Shaker Hood, automatic is a color called SmokeShow, what a fun car, only driven on pretty days, never been rained on and garage kept.

I love these cars. I had a 70. Rt. Challenger. And then went to a 72. Rally. When they came back out i fell in love again. They looked so much like the old models. Bought a 2017. TA. We're supposed to be only made for 1 year like in the 70. But they made more the next year to. Traded that in for a 2020 50th anniversary numbered challenger. No. 34 out of 70 in the RT package 5,7. Loved them then and love them now. My forever car. Only in nice weather. Color cinnamon stick. Mopar or no car.

Outstanding video once again Tony. When it comes to Mopar, the look of the Charger is more to my liking except of course to the 4 doors. The price of the current Dodge models is going through the roof. Dodge is playing this last year of their combustion engines very wisely. They have everyone believing their Hemi V8 engines are going away permanently. I’ll believe it when I see it. Thinking of trading in my 2020 GT500 for a 2023 Durango Hellcat because I live in Minnesota. You’re a knowledgeable person TonyNJ. Always fun watching your videos.

Thank you for all the compliments. I really don't know what they are going to do but it does make me sad that this might be the last year we see a car with a Supercharged Hemi. Maybe Dodge is taking a page from the Rolling Stones farewell tours of the 80's 90's & early 2000's and finds a way to keep coming back every couple of years.

Just in the first 1:30 you got a few things wrong. But who cares? Your a Ford guy, and this is a good video. I own a 2012 Yellow Jacket SRT. It is a iconic throwback to the original show car in 1969 which was the car to be presented as a car they could make into production. It quickly faded from the shows because there was a mistake in the marketing campaign and the show girl got more of the attention than the car. Chrysler scrapped the Yellow Jacket show car and turned it onto a "Corvette" ish show car, but the following year, the Challenger, which was based on the Yellow Jacket became a production car. As for the Valiant- that was the base car for the 1st pony car ever, the Plymouth Barracuda in 1964, 6 months before the Mustang. But the Barracuda looked sad compared to the Mustang, and was never the hit of the Mustang.

Great video.. really enjoyed it. Too bad that after being dedicated to bringing some extremely amazing modern musclecars to the market, they have decided to stop and move to EVs... I don't care how fast EVs are... as a musclecar they don't have any heart or any soul to them... very utilitarian appliances.
