Or how that big bud Aetheon could fall right off and most people would get a Vex Mythoclast, maybe even as far back as when it was the most OP gun in the history of anything.

Remember when you first started out in Destiny, back in Year 1. You would grind a few missions until you were at a decent level. Then one day, you wondered as you appear at the first spawning point at the Cosmodrone: " Come to think of it, what's in that little shack over to the left?"
So you go over there and down the steps...
....and you get your shit pushed in by Hives with "???" above them lol.
That was possibly the scariest moment I'm Destiny. EVER.

I got through my freshman and sophomore year with this game I'll never leave and I'm currently still with it during my junior year. I love this game.

+Thedoubt no, they took them out of heroic strikes so they are much rarer now sense you can only get 1 or 2 from strikes and a chance from nightfall

+Avello XXVI when I first did VOG I was lvl 25, got invited by a friend at Atheon and did not know shit. One of the guys told me to just stay in one spot or just follow and we eventually beat.
I watched an hr long vid just to learn how to complete vog. It was worth it.

the thing i miss the most is just everything, like on every Sunday night someone on my friends list would be playing VoG with a free space for me. Year one destiny was the best and will be missed.

ah, at the beginning of crota seeing how glitchy that mug was made me wanna just stop playing the game, but as time went on I got over it/use to it. I still remember the first time he chased me into the crystal room, when I turnt around expecting a thrall then I turn around and saw him...I swear I shit out my heart and destroyed a few ear drums. But looking back at it now I can't help but smile, I will never forget the laughs, the tears, the rage, the cheesest of cheeses, and God forbid all the times I got lost finding my ways through those vault caves, god that was a struggle for me. I wouldn't trade anything for those memories. God I'm gonna miss year 1.

Remember when you had to bring bounties back to the bounty tracker and you hoped he'd drop an exotic bounty for you? Remember when it took a full team with gjallarhorns to kill one gorgon in the vault of glass? Pepperidge farm remembers.
Although in all seriousness its actually pretty fun to take new players through the old stuff, especially when their year two weapons are significantly ineffective against certain enemies (aka oracles, crota, and the templar) So many people I took through those raids for the first time showed them how hideously broken Crota's End was and made them actually want the weapons from Vault of Glass.
Year 1 Destiny was the greatest experience for a game. It had it's faults but playing raids w randoms and grinding for the gjallahorn & mythoclast was amazing

Instead I decided to get an armor piece because I couldn't afford a weapon, I wanted a weapon more but because i didn't know how OP it was I through it was no big deal

The year 2 trials rewards are so disappointing compared to the old ones, it felt like a massive punch in the face when I went flawless on the first day of year 2 trials and I got a 313 water star.

I had to come back and watch this. I got it the first week and played it religiously for about 4 or 5 months then got bored. I just recently started again and it's sooo different. I so remember everything in this video. I think I stopped because I was so frustrated that I played so much and couldn't get to level 30. Now I love it with basically 2 years worth of content for me to play after the hiatus.

I remember the beta I remember being a hand cannon hunter in the age of auto rifles, I felt good like I was special than the age of hand cannons came out and I was like everyone else.

same. I used the thorn and loved it. it was a sharpshooters weapon, one of precision and patience. every shot counted because if your six were out, the long reload would punish you severely. it was exactly my play style and I did extremely well with the thorn... then the buff came. Thorn became a god weapon 2 shoting everyone with a quick reload and higher mag. no longer was there a punishment for inaccuracy and it became the perfect noob weapon.

I miss year 1, now the game is too easy. One memory I had was losing a bunch of friends from VOG. Everyone getting angry at each other. It mainly happened on the floating platforms.
Who remembers when vog if you never did it before in year 1 and you couldn't find your way in the beginning (I mean right after the spire was raised and you just got inside) because I remember my whole fireteam me included were jumping into the hole because we thought that was were we were supposed to go. Also now with year 3 players they have it easy because they don't remember the pain and joy of year 1 and they can get maxed out light and level 40 within literally 2 days.

Crystal Wolf you only get to level 40 in 2 days if you are a no life loser grinding instead of smelling the roses, doing vog at level 26 in y3 is so cool

I got Destiny 1 on Christmas of 2014. I remember grabbing the game out of the present and loading it into my PS3 right away. And I remember that long installation of updates.
