I have been to 30 states and 17 countries in my life and not once has some random stranger or hotel clerk said "You can park there" in a space I cannot park.
Had it happen on the Big Island during the week before The first Ironman since Covid. They had Ironman events set up on their parking lot and the front desk sent us to a random lot. We had to park on the street and the hotel wanted to charge us for parking. Sometimes the front desk doesn’t get correct information when they are overwhelmed.
1. They never told him to park at the liquor store. 2. He is not going to go in the liquor store and beat anyone. 3. He is upset that he got caught and had to deal with the consequences.
Jeep guy is a whiny toddler. Cadillac guy handled it with class. Red car guys seem to be a couple of down home country boys with good attitudes. I like them.
Its funny to me that the jeep guy kept saying he was told he could park there, when there was a no parking sign right in front of it. That man was just a low life that was trying to take advantage of the situation, so glad that you record the condition before every tow.

You really handled that well. I get the distinct impression that you give people the space to be upset for a few minutes, but you also very, very subtly let them know that you're not some amateur and they need to respect you and the tough job you have. I like how the story kept changing with the owners of the Jeep. That Jeep was left open deliberately. The mention of the camera, and video taping before, during, and after service calmed the male a bit.
Perhaps the hotel should put a sign on the wall behind the checking in counter that explains the parking situations in Gatlinburg and point it out to those checking in ?
There was so much BLEEP going on in this one, I was ready to start chanting JERRY!! JERRY!! JERRY!! JERRY!! lol You handled these very well. All it takes is to just look around for signage stating NO PARKING and go park where you were supposed to be parked from the beginning. If there's no spots available, go back inside and talk to Management.

Did the bikes have handicapped licenses? If they did, they had a right to park there, but most bikers I have known, would park somewhere else, if someone else needed the spot.

What I’ve wanted to do since I ran across these videos; park somewhere in Gatlinburg illegally, deliberately, hide and wait for y’all to show up and then pop out just before you get my vehicle hooked up just to meet you and get a pic taken with you two! (I’d even pay the $150 drop fee so your trip wasn’t wasted! 😂) You two are so much fun to watch and such a well-mannered folk!
I worked with the public for years...both in retail and in customer service for a bank...and cannot even count how many hundreds of times an angry customer would claim that "someone" told them something that was either nonsense or flat out impossible. Of course that "someone" rarely actually had a name.
I worked in a store for many years with just me and the boss. Most of the time together, I did 2 days alone and he did 1 day alone and the amount of times when we were there together and someone came to pick up a battery ‘the other guy’ gave a price on $50 cheaper than we told them was incredible. The other guy huh, what did he look like? You know the other guy, he was here yesterday morning. Oh yeah, that’s us. There’s only been 2 people that have worked here since the shop opened and it’s me and him. But we were liars.

How many people do you think came in the next day to pick it up, or all of a sudden had to have it urgently because they need the car but won’t pay the $25 because ‘no one told me’
Years ago I worked in the layaway department at Kmart. Whenever I started a layaway I had the same exact spiel for everyone. Detailing when payments were due, for how much. The pick up deadline and what would happen if payments weren’t made or the layaway not picked up by a certain date. Yet I’d have numerous people whose layaway was returned try to claim they were never told that and it isn’t their fault. With the way the contract is set up I could look and see which employee did the layaway. All the employees were good at out giving all pertinent information, but obviously I can’t guarantee what someone does when I’m not there. However if I saw my employee number on the contract I would shut down the people’s gripping because I knew damn well how I do layaways and what I said. And all that information is circled or underlined on the contract as I go thru it, as further evidence that I did give them the information. They either didn’t listen or decided not to follow the rules.

You need two phone lines. One for your customers to call for tows and one for customers so you can have a voice mail that greets them after 10 pm outlining your hours and items they will need to retrieve their vehicles. Taking these rude a-holes calls and threatening text messages all hours of the night is nuts. If you don't respect your time, they certainly won't.
I work for a nation wide organization that has a TON of vehicles. I'm the local fleet manager, so it's my responsibility to take care of bills, and such...well, we had one truck get creamed from the back. It was completely totaled! So, the tow truck driver gets there, tows the thing...yada yada yada....a couple of weeks later, I run across the same tow truck driver, (I had no idea until he pointed it out as he was delivering a broke down truck), he says, "Hey, I towed that truck here a couple of weeks ago!".....I grinned, and said, "Yea, there's some damage I wanna talk to you about!"....and started laughing....(I can never keep a straight face)...but he thought for the split second between when I said what I said and started laughing that I was serious!! I could see it in his eyes!! I found it even funnier!! That thing was about 4 feet shorter that it had been originally, so, there was absolutely no way he could have done more damage. Thanks for the great content.

The three times I have stayed with Westgate parking has never been an issue sure the lot at the waterpark can get full but, if you staying up top or even the mid mountain section at Westgate they have a free on property shuttle to drive you around. The three times I have stayed there not once have they ever told us to park there at the liquor store.

I work in hospitality, one thing I’ve learned that people will not read a sign, nor will they read terms and conditions nothing. They will make accommodations, buy plane tickets, fly all the way out to their destination get the hotel and pretend to be dumb and ask me what they should do.
I think the new lot is such a positive move. I know having a lot there is an added expense but it will be closer to most of the folks that would be needing to com to you and you have a buffer between your home and those few that overreact. Love your content!!!

I know one thing for sure. I've watched all your videos for the past month, including the older ones, and one I thing I've heard you say in nearly every one of them: "If you're not paying for parking, you're doing something wrong." That red Ford has an inertia or fuel cut off switch that trips in the event of an accident. They are located on the passenger kick panel or in the trunk.
My favorite was the purple caddy that guy was cool. On the phone he gave the impression he was mad but whether the camera or not that guy was more chill in person. My brain went 404 error with the jeep between him on the phone mentioning their personal property and money was in an unlocked vehicle!!! Than at lot walking around his 30 year old jeep like it’s the new 2024 version having a full on tantrum while his girlfriend or wife chose to drive back with her friend 😂

Well never a dull moment! The biggest problem is that most people refuse to be responsible for their own actions. The Jeep guy parked in front of the no parking sign. He definitely was looking for a fight. I am glad that you two are always together, not only because you make an awesome team but because a pissed off car owner might try and do something stupid if it was just one of you and there was not a camera present and recording. I like how the story kept changing with the owners of the Jeep. That Jeep was left open deliberately. The mention of the camera, and video taping before, during, and after service calmed the male a bit.

The fuel cutoff for a rollover probably needs to be reset. It is designed to shut the fuel so it doesnt catch fire on a rollover.
That was my thought the switch I think on that model is in the passenger footwell
Inertia switch, not sure that would have one, but most Fords do.
Perhaps the hotel should put a sign on the wall behind the checking in counter that explains the parking situations in Gatlinburg and point it out to those checking in ?
There was so much BLEEP going on in this one, I was ready to start chanting JERRY!! JERRY!! JERRY!! JERRY!! lol You handled these very well. All it takes is to just look around for signage stating NO PARKING and go park where you were supposed to be parked from the beginning. If there's no spots available, go back inside and talk to Management.
The sign was literally right in front of his Jeep. But something tells me reading may not be his strong suit. 🙄

It amazes me the number of people that can't read signs that say do not park. Dude with the jeep needs an attitude adjustment. Did the bikes have handicapped licenses? If they did, they had a right to park there, but most bikers I have known, would park somewhere else, if someone else needed the spot.

I never understand why these hotels/motels don't give out maps of where to park. Simple maps are easy to make and much better than any other communication method.
westgate is a timeshare property and they give maps.

Because it's a Hussle. The tow driver pays the foreign guy a finders fee to tell people to park in the no parking zone. He speaks perfect English by the way!😂

I worked with the public for years...both in retail and in customer service for a bank...and cannot even count how many hundreds of times an angry customer would claim that "someone" told them something that was either nonsense or flat out impossible. Of course that "someone" rarely actually had a name.
I worked in a store for many years with just me and the boss. Most of the time together, I did 2 days alone and he did 1 day alone and the amount of times when we were there together and someone came to pick up a battery ‘the other guy’ gave a price on $50 cheaper than we told them was incredible. The other guy huh, what did he look like? You know the other guy, he was here yesterday morning. Oh yeah, that’s us. There’s only been 2 people that have worked here since the shop opened and it’s me and him. But we were liars.
Yeah, I got the I talked to you a month ago and YOU told me..." bit recently. I told her one thing, she heard something completely different because it was what she wanted to hear.
@@T-J-C Yeah they’re good. We used to get that. We would quote a price and say it might take 2 weeks for it to arrive, so we can make an order and get free freight. If you want it tomorrow, I have to charge you $25 for freight. Oh no no rush, just within 2 weeks is fine. How many people do you think came in the next day to pick it up, or all of a sudden had to have it urgently because they need the car but won’t pay the $25 because ‘no one told me’
Years ago I worked in the layaway department at Kmart.
Whenever I started a layaway I had the same exact spiel for everyone. Detailing when payments were due, for how much. The pick up deadline and what would happen if payments weren’t made or the layaway not picked up by a certain date.
Yet I’d have numerous people whose layaway was returned try to claim they were never told that and it isn’t their fault.
With the way the contract is set up I could look and see which employee did the layaway. All the employees were good at out giving all pertinent information, but obviously I can’t guarantee what someone does when I’m not there.
However if I saw my employee number on the contract I would shut down the people’s gripping because I knew damn well how I do layaways and what I said. And all that information is circled or underlined on the contract as I go thru it, as further evidence that I did give them the information. They either didn’t listen or decided not to follow the rules.

It always makes me laugh when they give the "We didn't know we weren't supposed to park here" excuse. Especially when there are signs posted everywhere. Playing stupid might have gotten them this far in life, but, it dont work in Gatlinburg.

Edited to add: I had only watched the first tow when I made this comment. As the video continued I realized you may not have been talking about that couple. You need two phone lines. One for your customers to call for tows and one for customers so you can have a voice mail that greets them after 10 pm outlining your hours and items they will need to retrieve their vehicles. Taking these rude a-holes calls and threatening text messages all hours of the night is nuts. If you don't respect your time, they certainly won't.

I work for a nation wide organization that has a TON of vehicles. I'm the local fleet manager, so it's my responsibility to take care of bills, and such...well, we had one truck get creamed from the back. It was completely totaled! So, the tow truck driver gets there, tows the thing...yada yada yada....a couple of weeks later, I run across the same tow truck driver, (I had no idea until he pointed it out as he was delivering a broke down truck), he says, "Hey, I towed that truck here a couple of weeks ago!".....I grinned, and said, "Yea, there's some damage I wanna talk to you about!"....and started laughing....(I can never keep a straight face)...but he thought for the split second between when I said what I said and started laughing that I was serious!! I could see it in his eyes!! I found it even funnier!! That thing was about 4 feet shorter that it had been originally, so, there was absolutely no way he could have done more damage. Thanks for the great content.

The three times I have stayed with Westgate parking has never been an issue sure the lot at the waterpark can get full but, if you staying up top or even the mid mountain section at Westgate they have a free on property shuttle to drive you around. The three times I have stayed there not once have they ever told us to park there at the liquor store.
He was really wanting for a problem. Had you been alone, it might have been a totally different situation. Probably a lot safer to meet people at the new lot than at your residence,

I work in hospitality, one thing I’ve learned that people will not read a sign, nor will they read terms and conditions nothing. They will make accommodations, buy plane tickets, fly all the way out to their destination get the hotel and pretend to be dumb and ask me what they should do.

I think the new lot is such a positive move. I know having a lot there is an added expense but it will be closer to most of the folks that would be needing to com to you and you have a buffer between your home and those few that overreact. Love your content!!!

I've watched all your videos for the past month, including the older ones, and one I thing I've heard you say in nearly every one of them: "If you're not paying for parking, you're doing something wrong." That red Ford has an inertia or fuel cut off switch that trips in the event of an accident. They are located on the passenger kick panel or in the trunk.
My favorite was the purple caddy that guy was cool. On the phone he gave the impression he was mad but whether the camera or not that guy was more chill in person.
My brain went 404 error with the jeep between him on the phone mentioning their personal property and money was in an unlocked vehicle!!! Than at lot walking around his 30 year old jeep like it’s the new 2024 version having a full on tantrum while his girlfriend or wife chose to drive back with her friend 😂
