    Your personal dishes are just incredible!! I absolutely love them!!!!! And the rims being different is such a great idea!!! How sweet of you to finish those bowls. They will be absolutely cherished!! They are stunning colors in my opinion.

    A true full cone is when the tip is even with the top of the shoulder. If it hits the table it is higher than that cone. Orton has an awesome chart that you can actually put your cones against to tell the exact percentage of the cones wether you have a self standing one or the kind you have to put in a holder.

    Very nice opening. Always somethingmagic about openi g up a kiln! You mention testing for food safe - how do you do that?

      Obviously the most reliable is to use a lab. That being said, it is very expensive and has to be done with every combination so most home potters do not use a lab for food safety. What I do is I put water and lemon juice in the pot with a dry paper towel underneath. Leave it for 24 hours. Check for any water seepage or discoloration.
