      @@KB3AOL Yeah same story here, a lot of techniques and body positions used in mtb can also be used in dirtbiking. I think that when when people start off on dirtbikes before doing mtb first they kind of don't know to stand up and get the right body position for descents because dirtbikes are very forgiving, but when you start off on mtb you learn about the importance of body position and standing up because mountain bikes don't really give you the option to sit down and plow through everything, they are so twitchy and not as forgiving compared to dirtbikes so you learn real quick what to do and what not to do. Plus mtb teaches you good line choice because like I said earlier you can't just plow through everything like you can on a dirtbike. Anyways sorry just enjoy talking about why mtb is great for dirtbiking so thanks for reading and sorry if I may be a little annoying.

    Sometimes that initial roll over the crest of the downhill is the most intimidating part. If you let that get in your head you might nor focus on the actual descent.

    Hey Brad I’m curious how with your riding the bike, how’s your maintenance schedule? For example tires bottom end oil changes filter cleaning chain and sprockets etc. I think that would make good content. Also what brands you uses and your opinions. It would give us more prospective on how the cost of maintaining the bike looks like and teach people how to properly care for the bike. Thanks!

    A rear handbrake makes this ten times comfier. You can REALLY modulate the rear brake more than with a footbrake. You can also focus on staying back on the pegs and just use a handbrake.

    Hey, was in the market to buy a lectron carburetor, after filling out all the info on your website. I went to lectrons site and they are cheaper than on yours. Just wanted to give you a heads up if that was intentional or not. Great vids, and great riding! Cheers

    • @BeRAD
      @BeRAD  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      How so was it cheaper? What specific carb? All of the H-Series carbs should be matched the exact same as theirs. Not intentional if not.

    • @landonrainey8141
      @landonrainey8141 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      BeRAD, after looking into it more, it was due to needing a new air boot to fit the carb. Checked back to your site and it was the same, mistake on my part. It’s a shame they all aren’t the same price. Had to nearly pay 600 for one

    • @BeRAD
      @BeRAD  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@landonrainey8141 ahhhhh yeah. Must have been an SX/TC 150 then huh? All of the H series carbs are the same for the most part. There are just some extra parts required for some different models. Blame KTM/husky for making throttles that are totally different from every other manufacturer lol. The air boot thing is just because of a fitment issue with the bigger cylinder.

  • @Crazystuffyousee
    @Crazystuffyousee 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I've been riding most of my life and this advice goes against everything I've learned about riding down steep hills.
    Instead, I sit on the seat like I'm riding a bucking horse. Hips pushed up close to the tank with my torso leaning back to adjust weight towards the rear. If you stand up you're more likely to accidentally get your weight too far over the bars and the back end will push your butt in the forward direction which is not what you want. Place most of your weight over the front tire and this will allow maximum traction on the front brake because the rear brake will do almost nothing to help down steep grades. Note - This ONLY applies to very STEEP grades. But if the downhill is not very steep and allows normal riding attack positions then you simply ride downhill like you're riding on flat ground...just faster.
