      I just googled the laws for DCR, voluntarily and involuntarily treatment in Washington….. I think the DCR is a great step towards addressing the issues, I can see where that may be frustrating for them though, their assessments really need to carry more weight during the process.

    I had a case similar to the Owens matter. I was court appointed to represent a guy. The dude wanted me to allow him to lie on the witness stand. I filed a Motion to Withdraw and the court granted it. He ended up in prison for several years. I could have gotten him a legitimate plea deal that would have avoided prison.

  • @SDoyle-uq8wf
    @SDoyle-uq8wf ปีที่แล้ว +48

    My guess for the guy who wanted permission to speak in court is this. He probably had a no contact order with the victim. His argument appeared to be that, since the hearing was streamed on youtube, to which the victim presumably had access, than speaking could be heard by the victim and would therefore be a violation of the no-contact order. The defendant then wanted permission to speak in court because in his smart-ass way of thinking, speaking during a stream could be seen as a violation of the nocontact order.

      @LawTalkWithMike Oh yes, 100 percent agree. This defendant was almost certainly acting like a 7 year old who refuses to take out the trash because you told them to go to their room. Unfortunately here in Washington state the mental health system is way understaffed and overloaded, so the lower courts are dismissing cases with restoration orders as they just can't afford to send that many people to Western State Hospital as it is full with a waiting list. Superior courts are the only ones sending them to the hospital for restoration it seems right now.

The good part of Pierce county is the part that’s across the narrows bridge on the peninsula, headed towards the Olympic peninsula, other than that Pierce county kind of rough in some places. Thurston county is the county south of Pierce county it’s where the capital is located in Olympia so it’s Thurston county and then if you go north, it’s Pierce county and then if you go north it’s King county where Seattle is.

    1. You no longer want the public defender assigned to you, why?
    2. Will you be hiring your own lawyer?
    3. Will you be defending yourself?
    If the first question was answered yes but no valid reason provided, you had to do one of the next two because he was not assigning another public defender.

      @@JLova82 Argumentum ad hominem is a type of logical fallacy. This is a type of logical fallacy that attacks the arguer and not the argument. This causes you two problems. A) I AM attacking the beliefs themselves, and therefore attacking the arguments B) even if I wasn't, like with all fallacies, not all uses are Fallacious. Calling a sov-tard stupid is not fallacious because the beliefs by nature ARE stupid and the people who believe them are massively ignorant of the actual subject they purport to speak about making them stupid for believing them.
      Now, if I called a Sovcidiot a child molester in order to attack them and distract from their argument, that would be fallacious because their status as a child molester has nothing to do with sovereign citizens. See the difference? One deals directly with the subject and beliefs being stupid because it is based in ignorance. The other is just an attack just to attack.

      @@Mewse1203 No, you've falsely inferred anyone whom YOU 'd unwisely choose to label as a "sovereign citizen" -- even though the Founding Fathers made every citizen of America a "sovereign citizen," by definition -- is automatically stupid without any redemptive qualities or even an ability to possess any knowledge whatsoever. In other words, defamatory reasoning or _argumentum ad hominem_

    In the real world, he's going to be " disrespected " by someone within the first 30 seconds.

    When an animal, who operates strictly on instinct and not reason, goes mad (from rabies or other reasons), we put them down immediately, because they are a danger to society.
    When a human does the same, we turn them loose back into society.

    Not a sovcit. I believe he expects his attorney to attempt to introduce lies into evidence. Since the lawyer can't say "Your honor, my client is full of it," the next best is to inform the court that he can't ethically represent the client.
