Real star power! The only part of the Tony Awards 2012 performances that rocked. As soon as Raul Esparza just strode on to the stage, with "Hello, New York!", the electricity turned on (as it does whenever he's on the stage). Just as he did with "Company", he really showed audiences yet again what it means to have the "it" factor in musical theater.
Saw this show doing it's preview in April, I love Raul, the cast, the passion and energy and the music just makes you want to dance that after the show my friend and i were singing a clapping "Leap of Faith", so good!
Hope to have the chance to see this show sometime soon. Didn't last long enough on Broadway, but should be a popular show in community theaters. Funny and moving with a great score.
daniel kinney If you are talking about Raul Esparza I think you need to take another listen. Just watch his performance in Company. He dominated the role and he has a beautiful singing voice

RAUL'S VOICE AT 1:15
😍😍😍 Replayed that like 5 times
I'll say one thing for this show, it's great to see some body-type diversity in a Broadway ensemble.
Amen!
Truly 😮💨
You make me want to go on living, Raul. And believe me, that's not a small feat.... keep on inspiring...
The show was wonderful and I was so sad when it closed. And yes, in person, it is waaaay better than the Tony performance,

YES
my school is doing this musical RIGHT NOW! we open tomorrow!
I played Jonas in a production locally and it was the most vocally difficult show I’ve ever done in my life. Didn’t change a single key
Well Done! Cast!
Is that Leslie Odom Jr in the ensemble? left of the screen in a maroon tshirt at 0:54
+bwaybabyrose Yes it is
He is in the laip of faith obc
2 ADAs and a Pastor from Law & Order: SVU were in this.
WONDERFUL!!!!!!i LOVE RAUL ;)
How this man was not cast to play Ché in Evita astounds me. He is perfect for the role and much better than that Ricky Martin fiasco.
At least he did the stage version.
He was che at some point fun fact
He was Ché years ago. There's even video evidence on youtube... :)
man he is killing that Tambourine!
