I know it's been a while since I've made any sort of video. I've been super busy with life. All of you, seriously, thanks for all the feedback. The good and bad. Thank you for it all. I need some ideas for some other videos you guys would want to see.
If this is such a common issue with steam games, then why has this not been fixed yet? it is so frustrating. I paid $55 yesterday for Planet Zoo and ever since yesterday noon I have been trying to play it with no success.
Exactly, I paid $59.99 (Not including taxes) for Danganronpa V3, so far I've encountered 2 fixable bugs (They're fairly easy to fix, still shouldn't be happening in the first place though) and now this.
I wish they would fix it I've been trying all night tonight to play bigfoot and no success. I've watched videos after videos of things I could try and absolutely no luck nothing is working for me.
I've been trying to play Thief 3 for an hour now and nothing has worked. Things like this make me absolutely hate Steam, the fact that they're selling games that just flat out don't work. Funny enough, I bought Thief 3 as Deus Ex: Human Revolution wasn't working.
Just reinstalled my Steam program after upgrading to an SDD. Downloaded Steam and downloaded FF15 to play. I am getting the launching window and it says it's playing nothing happens. I tired this step but nothing improved. It's frustrating. I have also made sure that everything is updated but no luck.
I know this is an older post but I just wanted to say thank you. I got a new computer and none of my steam games would load. I spent two weeks watching videos and doing all the little tricks and nothing worked. I was just about to give up when I came across your video. @hyd twist I did both before I rebooted steam so I'm not 100% sure which one did the trick. I believe the deletion of the folder probably is what did it though.
Omg dude! Thanks a bunch for fixing my Steam. Windows 10 x 64 bit here. Just couldn't find the file in the same folder as you showed in the video, a drive search for the file name fix it. Appreciate you man.
I figured another way to get it to work without uninstalling, or doing this. All you have to to do is go to downloads in the settings tab, then you hit the button on the bottom that says, "clear download cache" or something like that, then you can log back in and everything works like Normal!

Did not work. I have been trying to load Prey (2017), and all I get is the message saying "launching Prey" and then the icon closes out by itself and then the game stops running.
These things did not work at all. I tried all the steps and things you said. How come the game won't open. You said that uninstalling the game would not work right? I am desperate PLEASE HELP me find a solution.
honestly never noticed it did that. only times ive had to do this was for games that progress is cloud stored. Beats not being able to play at all though lol Thanks for the heads up though.

Sorry for taking so long to get back to you. That seems like something with the game not working well with your hardware. This fix is specifically for the game not even getting to the launcher.

I usually use likes as a "rewatch" button for music rarely do i like a video purely to show support if i could like this video 10 times, i would. I recently got a new hard drive, installed some steam games there, but accessed them through my ssd's steam. didnt work, untill clientreg was deleted, then worked perfectly. thank you

My Steam folder does not evem have this file inside. My problem is that i cannot launch PUBG. I installed it today and it said it needed to update after, i then updated it and the timer just went up and up to over a year and then just stopped. update: Steam killed the old UI! Steam would not open at all now with the old UI (8/21/2020). I had to delete everything in the Steam folder except for three files: "Steam.exe" "steamapps" and "userdata" then run the "steam.exe" and Steam will auto update , this will get steam working again. Then I re-installed the old UI again and it stopped working again.
I purchased and downloaded Zulu Response does not say in discrip if mod for napoleon total war, however its downloaded and I assume its a stand alone game however its not loading. In steam the game clock reads played 1 minute. Does almost as your error, black message box then nothing not even a repeating cycle. Final, there is no steam client . bolb folder in the directory.
Dont know if anyone can help but I have on steam a Total War Attila mod I downloaded from the workshop and Attila, Rome 2, Shogun 2 Totals wars all play fine but my Attila mod crashes to desktop while loading a grand campaign. Every time I try and play the mod, crashes straight to desktop while taking a long 15 minutes to load on loading screen, then crash to desktop. Very strange, if anyone knows anything. Everything else plays fine but the mod. Trying to find the location of this problem.

hello i wanted to say that if this is the same problem reply, whenever i try launching a game the loading screen would just freeze and then i would have to wait til it shows you have innapropriate permissions to the file (steam client bootstrapper)
Something else to try. For me, I had a good number of my steam games refusing to load. Some would give a windows error about crashing, some would just disappear, some would leave "faulting application" log in Event Veiwer, some wouldn't. I repaired C++ redistributable packages on Microsoft site, created exclusions in Avast, re installed steam, navigated to the game folder and right clicked run as administrator... did a shitload of stuff. My situation, however had one clue that I couldn't get over. All games worked fine in the default Win 7 Admin account. This is what worked for me. We will use subnautica. I used windows explorer to navigate to the subnautica (insert your game here) folder: Computer->(E:)->Programs->Steam->steamapps->common->Subnautica was my path. I then right clicked the application icon in the folder. Subnautica's is easily picked out because its the only one with the game picture beside the name. Otherwise look for a file named by the game title whose type is application of a bigger size. Click properties. Click the tab named compatibility. You should see, at the bottom, a section named privilege level. As soon as I checked "run this program as administrator" and "apply" my game that had been driving me batshit crazy fired right up.
Another thing I just found out was MSI Afterburner OSD. If you have Afterburner set to display anything over your games go into settings and disable all that. Examples are GPU Temp, Clock, Usage. This is found in Settings->Monitoring. Select each that say "In OSD", scroll down and uncheck "show in On-Screen Display". I had like 6 things enabled and you will have to uncheck each individually.

It seems like you have a weird monitor input issue. When your screen goes black, try and change monitor input to see if it comes back.

probably not, instead of actually browsing through your folder, try and get to it by typing in the directory. may have better luck that way

Otherwise look for a file named by the game title whose type is application of a bigger size. Click properties. Click the tab named compatibility. You should see, at the bottom, a section named privilege level. As soon as I checked "run this program as administrator" and "apply" my game that had been driving me batshit crazy fired right up.
Another thing I just found out was MSI Afterburner OSD. If you have Afterburner set to display anything over your games go into settings and disable all that. Examples are GPU Temp, Clock, Usage. This is found in Settings->Monitoring. Select each that say "In OSD", scroll down and uncheck "show in On-Screen Display". I had like 6 things enabled and you will have to uncheck each individually.

mine always says that my game.exe has stopped working and i did exactly what he did on the video and still hasnt worked
I have DRL Simulator Through Steam. It freezes up and won’t open. Any ideas, I’m currently trying to get my money back. Steamb says it’s a problem with my computer (of course it’s not there problem. ) the program worked for 1 day the freezes up when loading.
I verified the files then the game deleted it again after I installed it and don't know how to stop it
