Just purchased a second hand Absolute. Found the top drawer attached to the seat was the wrong way round so stripped the seat down to change it and like you found the wooden base soaking wet and covered in mould so cleaned it all up and replaced all the rusty screws, in the process of drying the base out now
this was a coincidence , but I was just working on the same project . nice how you showed how to remove the locks. Thank you for your useful TH-cam videos
Thanks for your tips. Just brought a second hand Absolute white, some of the locking clips were a bit iffy and if able to purchase new ones they cost an arm a d a leg, so I used your tip and wired up the slider on the base except I used cable ties but carry some spares in case of breakag
You have done really well with that John. I am sure you will get it organised in your own way. We get used to the norm and nothing fits exactly the same
Nice project John , box came up good worth the effort. Biggest challenge will be sorting out what bits of kit you want to transfer from your old box. Hope it gets a good christening on next outing 😉 👏👏👍
Love the video - I have just bought a second hand absolute station black edition. Sadly on the base tray 2 of the brackets have snapped. Do you know if the mag lol bracket replacements would fit ?
Hi John, would you know how to take the seat apart on the newer Absolute 36 box as I’m turning it around so it suits a Left handed person, seems Preston only make the newer boxes for right handed people.
Interesting video. I have an Absolute similar to yours but the large storage unit goes on to the bottom rail with a rig tray either above or below it. By moving it, don't you effectively increase the length of the legs as you said you wanted as the seat is now a few inches lower?
You are totally correct. After the first use I realised box was too high, even for a tall person like me. So it's been switched around. Video will be up soon.

Not sure exactly which piece has snapped? On the channel I have a video showing how the maglock can be fitted to the original system....might help???

had one of those , to damn heavy , the check to see if the back legs have breaks in them at the bottom one good thing they wont blow over
It is pretty heavy, but I don't mind that.

Still using it, have repaired the draw recently, there is a video about that. Otherwise it's been fab.
You could easily upgrade to maglok trays it would improve it greatly I did with a original space station to the plastic clips
I thought the maggot was different from the old style? Can you just buy maglok and fit them?

@@AverageAngler only problem with maglok is getting them plus there more expensive
I have looked into it, you can use new units on my old style box, but you have to use old clips. So interchangeable but not with the new clips.
