ZWIFT : RACE : VIVE LA FRANCE STAGE 2 (LOW END / USING RACING SCORE) - CASSE PATTES - 09/07/2024

With regards to the racing score this race had a range of 375 - 450 and I went into this race with 403 points.
This was my first longer distance race using the points / score system to enter.
Once again my tactics were to race and see what happens.
Started off OK and was doing well by keeping up with main group.
Initial pace was pretty good and I wasn't having to burn all my energy to not get dropped.
That suddenly changed once I hit the climbs and mainly the KOM, I was done and legs had nothing.
This is always the issue with me, the climbing just zaps my legs race after race.
I was hoping the new Tron bike may have helped on some of the inclines but I am still getting used to it, time will tell on future races / rides.
After hitting the KOM I plodded home and finished well down the pack near the bottom, it is what it is.
After the race had finished I checked the results and the top finishing riders were B cat or high C cat.
I wasn't too frustrated after seeing this because for me to keep up initially with them I had done rather well.
On this race the points system to me needs tweaking as a low to mid C rider (like myself), should not be in the same event as B cat riders.
The high C cat riders being in this type of event I can understand and just gives me a bit of a challenge to push harder (realistically).
