If you noticed, the queen is only on ONE of our bills. Various prime minister's of importance in Canadian history are printed on our bills as well, all of whom are men as well like American currency. The $50 bill does smell like maple syrup (just smelt one).

What most people don't realize is that it varies between states, even the stores where you buy it. My father couldn't purchase an AK47 in California where we live, so he purchased one from a store in Arizona. While he wasn't an Arizona resident, he did have a conceal-carry license from the military and law enforcement, so they let him purchase it. I don't know much about Arizona law to say whether or not that's completely legal, but I can say we are California residents with an illegal assault rifle that was legally purchased. But that's like that with any business, where some are more lenient about rules and laws than others.

In some of Canada's provinces, such as the province where I'm from Alberta. The drinking age here in Alberta is eighteen years of age.
I'm from America and we have flavored ice tea lol. And the gun don't kill people, people kill people. No matter how strict or loose the gun laws are if they end up in the wrong hands someone will get hurt, but in the right hands they can save a life. To me someone having a gun is no worse than someone having a knife. If they are willing to hurt you they will find a way.

Whether Walmart sells alcohol depends on local law. For example, Walmart only recently started selling wine in Tennessee, and the hours are restricted. No hard liquor. You have to pass a background check in America too and all states have the guns registered in that particular state and most will have them federally registered. The majority of gun crimes are committed with illegally purchased firearms. Very few people will use a gun registered in their own name to commit a crime as it can be traced back to them.

We stopped caring what Brits think about our Gun Laws in the US...back in 1776 lol!! Also I own many guns and had to pass a background check for every single one of them, no matter if I bought one from a gun store or at a Gun Show. One thing she forgot to mention most gun related deaths are committed in those cities or states "like California and Chicago or New York" who have the strictest gun laws in the country. This is because those deaths are by gangs or people who illegally obtained said firearm, laws mean nothing if people won't follow them. They only hinder law abiding citizens from obtaining and owning guns and they will never hinder criminals. I depends on which region of Canada you live in. For example I live in Nova Scotia and the don't say aboot or eh , but if I go to Saskatchewan I might hear aboot or eh ( i just made this up so I don't know if people in Saskatchewan actually say this)

kumikorkki I was talking not about the differences between the countries, but what is put forth (gun control and healthcare) are not exactly so wonderful in Canada. Its debatable and she sounds extremely biased (and yes, I do have friends who live in Canada and I lived there in the 70s).

The reason why less people are killed by guns in Canada is because they have 10x less people. Also, strict laws just prevent normal responsible people from having guns, it doesn't prevent criminals. This is because of something called the black market, if a criminal wants a gun they'll just buy one without caring about the consequences.

In the USA even the cases in which an employer offers employee healthcare, it is still paid for by the employee. In most cases, they get a discount for their employees with pre-tax payments but the employer doesn't actually pay for it. There are some employers who do, but mostly it's paid from your paycheck. Yet, most USA citizen don't read their paystubs or contracts and assume otherwise.

I'd have swapped the perhaps incorrect accent one with metric v customary/ imperial systems in place. To go from Fahrenheit and miles to Celsius and kilometres etc is quite a difference in mindset and the day to day.

Actually, drinking age in Canada in certain provinces is 18. I live Montreal and the drinking age here is 18.
And also, we pay much more taxes. Both provincial and federal.
But when you get cancer and require life saving surgery, it won't mean you will lose your home and money unexpectedly. Social Care is neccessary.
