    Syracuse (from Armada) has one ability that you missed - you don't have to do these stages in order from left to right! It's easy to miss ;).

      Indeed as I had totally forgotten that!

    My wife and I love 7 wonders. We found that after playing Duel, the base game was lacking, so we bought Armada straight away. Armada is the only expansion we've played, and the only one we own. It is one of our favorite games and Armada is pretty much a permanent addition. Great review.

      I hope you've picked up Leaders in the past year. it's a must!

    Totally agree that Leaders add so much more depth strategywise. Never play without it. But almost never touch Cities nowadays. Never tried armada.

    19:02 bro, what do you mean? As far as I remember, Siracusa has precisely the unique mechanic in which you can choose the order in which you build the wonder stages, you don't need to follow the order of first second and third from left to right, so much so that you even showed in a close-up that the pyramids symbols are all already built and not in stages.

      Yeah that was missed, many more that one as the board doesn't make it clear.

    I agree that seven wonders is far superior to wonderful world, which is just okay. Have you played bunny kingdom? I like that more than seven wonders, but seven wonders accommodates more people and I don’t have to teach it as often because it is more widely known; we can just jump in and play.

    Thanks for the great summary. I have the first edition so I’ll definitely remove the Babel specific pieces so it matches up with Edifices. I’ve been hesitant to crack open Armada as I don’t want to complicate an elegant experience.

    What have you done with your cards? Are they sleeved (if so, which sleeve?) or are they laminated? Looks super nice! 🤗

    Question: do you only receive the current effect of the naval track that your ship is on, or do you also receive all the previously unlocked effects in addition to this? i.e. are the rewards cumulative? And if not, if you end up moving your ship two or more times in a single turn, do you only get the effect of the final space it has landed on, and not the spaces it has moved through?

    • @TheBrokenMeeple

      All spaces you move through but not all previous

    I would love to hear more of your thoughts on 7 Wonders vs It's a Wonderful World. Most opinions I've encountered online have suggested It's a Wonderful World is the superior game thanks to the production phase adding some extra meat after the drafting.
    I have a copy of the first edition of 7 Wonders and am just learning it for an upcoming game night. In the future I'm debating either investing in the second edition plus expansions, or pivoting to It's a Wonderful World.
    I'll be getting some games in with my copy and BGA to see what I like more, but it was nice hearing your enthusiasm for the game. I used to draft a ton in Magic the Gathering and am hoping they will scratch that itch.

      I honestly was bored by Wonderful World. The production phase really isn't anything new or different and it's pretty auto pilot. The fact you can bin a card for a resource takes away any real tension because even if someone takes what you want, you can just get rid of stuff you don't need to compensate. 7 Wonders hands down beats it.

      @@TheBrokenMeeple Appreciate the insight! But yeah I can see how the dual use nature of the cards can eliminate tension of the draft.

    I am an owner of the first edition with all its expansions, so I do have Babel and we quite like it. It adds a certain element of chaos and surprise which can be very entertaining. Next time I play 7W I will throw in all xpacs and have fun with it though it will be a longer game and will take more space. But compared to other games like Terraforming Mars this should be no problem.

    so if you're playing with people who know the game, whats your favorite combination of expansions? I wonder what a game with all 4 expansions would be like

      Same as in the review - Cities + Leaders hands down.

    I did not get any of the new reprints. I already had everything, promo boards and cards, except Babel in one box with custom insert. Leaders is my favorite expansion that adds so easily. Great game, but could not bring myself to repurchase everything.

    We own the original 7 Wonders version with the Leaders, Cities and Babel expansions. I'm pretty sure it was the Cities expansion that also increased the number of players to 8. (Was there another that also took it to 9?). Anyway, is the number of players increased at all with the 2nd edition versions? Thanks!

    • @TheBrokenMeeple
      @TheBrokenMeeple  ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't think any expansion added an 8th player - But Cities meant you had to deal out 8 cards to players instead of 7.

    • @Spaghetter813
      @Spaghetter813 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TheBrokenMeeple with Cities you can play with an 8th player and just deal out 7 cards per person.

    • @TheBrokenMeeple
      @TheBrokenMeeple  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I liked Babel fine, the tower does change up the game a bit and the Projects were decent. Wasn't popular though with many. But Edifice is the 2nd edition reprint version of this.
