So where in the snow should I live? (I don't want to live on the Icebergs)

Live on the top of the mountain with a nice view
I made a base in the snow biome oneday random argi killed my thyla
Name the sarco crapo
North side of white . Behind the small iceberg. There is a small cliff about 1/3 the way up with crystal underneath. Great spot for a cabin in the woods.
The hidden lake had some nice changes and it would put you pretty far north and around the mountains, plus there is one of the big rivers so you could move pretty quickly if your still using the sarco by then.
Edit I'm a moron and didn't see that you wrote snow, but if you decide not to ;)
"The sarco is the best water traveling mount" *shows him clubbing penguins at the thumbnail* 💀
Thats because he probably used the sarco to get to the arctic by sea
That gives more organic polymer
The massacre begins!
😂😂😂😂
penguin club 2.0
Ghillie hides the player name from other players if you're wearing the full set. Which is pretty freaking cool.
eyyy set bonus
@@d1nodraythat would be pretty cool for all armors it would be cool if wearing chitin armor gave you built in bug repellent although it would be alot worse then just using bug repellent
That's an awesome idea. Each set of armor has a "set bonus" if you're wearing all the pieces. Maybe for cloth you could give you a boost in movement speed.@@borzoilover4156
Does it also make you completely invisible?
@@Serucipe I mean if you crouch, kinda
About the little creatures disappearing, I’ve noticed if I claim a baby and then leave render distance, it’ll slowly start floating up towards the sky and the longer you’re gone the higher it goes until I assume it hits the border. It also takes AGES for it to float back down.
the issue is, there is no border up to. at least none that will stop you from going higher. if you go too high, you simply get meshkilled. even in gcm. so the creatures floating up are most likely all dead.
I had two babies mesh through the ground and fall to their death. Only one gave me a death message.
That explains a lot. I think it happens to sea creatures you knock out tame too. Had a 150 max Mega knocked out and walled in. Came back to it being just gone.
Do you think it would help to put them in a pen after claiming them to keep them from ascending 🤔
I haven't had anything float yet, but my small creatures have figured out how to slip thru walls. Even in my buildings, when I come back in render they are out wandering the world.
The sarco bug
Is a disconnect between the client and the server
The client thinks you have done a turn and bite to change your direction
The server hasn't registered the turn and so is trying to keep you straight but the client is trying to turn you to the direction of the bite&attack
That's why when you dismount the sarco doesn't turn around and the big ends
The client is no longer trying to turn the sarco to the desired direction
Same problem, any idea to fix it? it's very uncomfortable
@@omegamark6304 it needs a client or server update, which means a bug report needs filling with wildcard so they can understand the issue and how to reproduce it.
Solution atm is: do not use bite&turn move on a sarco
does the same thing on deinosuchus from ark additions
Does the sarco work fine in single player
7.9, 38.5 Is a magnificent looking base spot, definitely check it out!
I will say if you do end up building in the snow they added a new feature that means structures in the snow will slowly begin to build up snow on their roofs and stuff which might look pretty cool
I kinda love how, almost exactly when Syntac mentioned he wasn't going to do anything to Jim's raft, his Sarco was like, "Maybe YOU won't do anything," and took a massive dump on Jim's raft just before they left. 😂💩
There's a valley between the 2 snow mountains that kinda resembles the area Syntac lived in Ultimate Ark, I think that could be a pretty good base location since it's a large, open area with plenty of flat land to build on
You know the Cords?
@@heykosei it's right between the two mountains, just follow the river north. you even have a frozen waterfall. the issue is that it's a spawn spot for argies, carnos and daedon. so be prepared if you plan on building there.
Hey Syntac, base spot in the snow here, ive always loved the ice bridge around 29 9 (Just above where you got the explorer note on the sarco) as it is beautiful, very flat and easy to build on, and only has one entrance and so is easy to protect from wild creatures. (also no therizino spawns) its right beside blue ob and there are tons of resources nearby. If you read this, thanks, if not, thats all good too.
I kind of love that Tek creatures aren't in the game yet - it means there's an actual reason to go into the ocean for resource gathering now.
I hope they won’t be for these maps. I couldn’t play Ark because of these “tek” were just too ridiculous for me.
@Exen88 they will come with extinction like cryopods. That's when they we introduced. Fun fact they used to give meat ad hide at the start. Scrap, dust, and electric came later.😊
@@Exen88 I for one liked the pretty colors, but I refused to use tek itself. Good for farming, and I may or may not have used them for locating my base in the dark
Except gathering the resources we got from tek creatures is an excessively massive pain in the ass. Hence why they were added...
Tek creatures should be gated behind the broodmother imo, make them spawn after the boss is killed
I think the new oil nodes are based on oil shales, which is pretty cool
I love how good sarcos are and how easy they are to tame easily one of my favourite dinos
i have to say my favorite dino in this game has to be the oviraptor, now that it can automatically pickup unfert and fert eggs + the extra egg buff. fabricators, industrial forges and chemistry stations don't need gas anymore as long as you have a generator, and you don't need to do wiring anymore which is a life change.
The Eggstra egg buff
The oviraptor just became the cooler version of the S+ hatchery
you’ve done amazing with this series so far, keep going
Dang, the ghillie suit's new design is definitely an improvement😊
Axe's dinos are taking care of business and keeping his base secure while he's asleep😁
Syntac, please try to paint the ghillie suit so you can use it in the snow!
I just said the exact same thing, white for snow tan for desert and blue for the ocean. And it hides you name from other players i was just reading 🙌🙌🙌 i think the first thing Im going to grind for is either a tree platform or a cliff platform for sure! And i want to tame a Thyla as my first tame and go handle biz with the titanasaur! 😅😂💯what’s ur gamer tag so we can f shiiii up together haha! 🔥🔥💯💯🙌🙌 you on pc Xbox or ps5?
@@Mcgriddle999 blud is desperate
@@cobus8582frl bro wants friends too much
Can i start something funny here? Can we all start calling syntac grandpa syntac because of how many times he keeps bringing up his "old times" and how he used to live on a spot on the island and also the island series 😂
Tree platforms have snap points now. You should build in the redwoods
I know I’m hyped to try build a actual treehouse now
@@MrMightyninja I don't like microraptors and thylas sneaking up behind me😢
@@Kurd143 I usually never had a problem with micros and thylas I usually keep my eyes everywhere when I’m in the red woods but then again some of my time in ark was spent living in the redwoods and on abb so I grew really accustomed to everything wanting to kill be pretty quick
@@MrMightyninja this is good for you but don't lie you can't counter microraptors, an alpha carno was almost dead but a microraptor threw me off and i was sooo far away, but good thing my argy didn't die
@@Kurd143 oh see that’s what I usually do differently I never used flyers below the tree line in the redwoods only ground Dino’s and the Dino I usually always had with me was gigantopithecus and a mesopithicus I reverted back to monke cause I also ended up having a Dinopithecus army as well when they first came out and my stats were built for in case I get knocked of my Dino I could still fight them with my ascendant sword and metal shield
Bro that alpha Meg jumpscare at the beginning got me ngl 😂
“Let’s head north for some poly… Oh look! Let’s go pet the Alpha Raptor! Oh no, a Rex is joining the fight… Are those Megalodons?!” 🙌🫣
I would recommend a high level frog for ground and water travel they are in fast in both areas and can have a super jump to get away from danger as well as you going to need one for the bug cave eventually
Always been a sarco fan, great for water taming
I petition for syntac to go around spooking his friends with the Gillie suit 😂
ive heard the original 50/50 bug is back. If true that could be why dino's disappear
That area just before it shifts into the snow biome looks so much better now. Or at least more populated with general stuff.
A mix of my favorite games, Ark and club penguin
I'm not going to suggest this, but I will say I can't wait for the Rhyniognathis taming episode.
19:20 that megalodon was so ominous when it was about to get you!
Ark really wants you to embrace the theri's lol Giving you a nice saddle and having you find them around every corner.
You could build a house on stilts in the snow, just using pillars for supports
Loving ASA so far. Doing pretty well without mods. The only time I'd really feel the no mod playthough is if I started mutations. I REALLY wouldn't want to do that without mods.
Syntac pulling a Theri saddle from a red drop: "No thank you!"
😂😂😂
you can get organic polymer from the drops, the drop item pools are super crazy atm i love it!
Your willingness to keep fighting at 2mm of health on your tame impresses and baffles me at the same time.
That icthy is a real homie. He was like hi hey syn just want you to know this place is not safe.
I lived around Lat 18 Long 41 in ASE. Good semi-flat spot that overlooks a river/cliff
Evo was up there yesterday. He found a weird cave thing that dead ended. You'd essentially have 3 indestryctible walls made.
The snow biome is definitely my favorite, and with the upgrade it looks absolutely gorgeous.
My favorite spot for a base has and will always be on top of this rock ledge right in front of you at 32:11
I hate walled-in bases. I prefer an unobstructed view of the scenery.
Here you just wall off the beginning of this rock ledge and voila. I would build like a mini village with various buildings along both edges. The view is breathtaking and there are plenty of resources nearby. You can even connect to the water below.
I would paint my base black and call it Castle Black.
just a reminder that the new visuals are all new to us, would love to see some of the new upgraded models and stuff, especially on the SARCO and and others, thanks for the content
That blue drop in the water was all sorts of fun I swear I saw a teuso tentacle dancing under that ridge by the drop hahaha
New base at the hidden grove. Doesnt look flat but it is. You can check it with the instancedfoliage and instancedgrass admin commands and you will see. Series is top notch so far bro :)
I actually built a base on the spot where you fought the Alpha Raptor. Just a tiny bit more to the south, up the cliff. If you stay far enough away from the "beach of death" you can consistently farm the carnivores there.
The beelzebufo gives it a run for the money. I like the fact you cant get shocked off the saddle. And they dont run out of stamina while cruising at a pretty good speed.
I am really enjoying your videos. I have enjoyed them since I started playing ark. Although it was quite recent, just after fjordir came out. So I am excited to try the original maps and get the story.
It's definitely worth it, I personally can't buy ascended, so I'm still playing Evolved. It's a nostalgic game for me bc I haven't played in a while, but I used to play all the time when I was younger. I miss the old Argentavis 😢
You can track your tames on the tracker. Click the POI icon at the bottom left of their frame and it will mark them on your screen. I've had kairuku that fall through the floor when I toss them. I've noticed it happens when they grow up on top of a foundation and are half-sunk into it when they grow up. Relogging (or in your case, restarting the server) fixes it.
To me it makes sense that Theris are common. They are herbivores so they aren't really initiating fights unless something threatens them, they have plenty of food, and they are definitely as strong as the alpha predators, so there aren't really many threats to them (just thinking IRL reasoning, not in-game reasoning for the overspawning).
You shoulda grabbed some Silica Pearls while you were in the Tundra since Tek creatures aren't a thing yet ;p.
There is (or was) an issue where penguins weren't spawning on any of the islands. Only on the mainland.
"Therizino mount, no thank you"
EXCUSE ME SYNTAC LOL. The universe is telling you to tame one! You must obey
I noticed the Icebergs have changed a lot and have a lot less base locations.
if your ditermined for the snow area the 38.0 lat by 31.2 you have a nice lake type area just outside of snow on the river that could look nice.
19.0 by 16.5 could be another option as its almost right outside the ice cliff cave with an artifact it only has a small amount of flattish land but i have seen a red drop in that peninsular recently.
at around 58.0 Lat by 64.5 Lon near the green ob, there is a nice and flat area in the forest cliff area overlooking the swamp.
you would have to clear a good amount of trees for a good size base, but it's fairly close to redwoods mountain for metal and stone plenty of trees for wood obviosly.
I love penguin's 5 minutes later
Casually beating a penguin's corpse with a stick
33:15
Syntac talking about needing a shoulder pet, pictures the pego watching from a bush crying
27:58 that argentavis had a person on its back
When the opening credits to a Syntac episode say "this might go bad", you know its going to be good. 😂😂😂💜 Love the content, many thanks!
Just go into where you used to track dinos you were taming and you can add a POI marker on all of your tames. If your missing dodo is still on the map, youll find it that way.
I broke my leg recently and these videos are definitely keeping me positive. Keep them coming
Good to know about the saddle decay. Honestly, I wasn't really worried about it since even a base saddle seems to break EXTREMELY slowly. By the time it actually breaks, you should be able to afford repairing it.
8:13-8:15 was the first moment when I see the red drop he was talking about lol... before that I thought he was losing his mind or maybe had audio from another clip over his gameplay or something
Here's a building idea: build around two spiral staircases. The first floor is crafting and storage, second story is living, and a third story for plants.
That just gave a whole new meaning to Club Penguin
Evo has an epic base. Enough room for all to move in. Really nice! Lots of buildings.
Always perfect timing for my break 😂❤️
Syntac here is a tip: no matter how far you are into the game any drop that is blue or above is always worth it
Manta now be able to sprint up and down: Said what!?!?
When syntac said about his health on the hud thats gonna be some foreshadow some day
I'm a novice ark player, with only 190 hours. Your names for things all sound pretty straight on to me!
99% of my experience with Ark is based on just watching a bunch of different TH-camrs It seems like you all have little names for areas, but they all make a ton of sense and seem to be similar across the board!
That scene with the ghillie suit, I only noticed it because I thought I caught a texture pop-in right before it cut to the next scene. I went back to poke fun at the texture glitch and was like, "Whoa, wtf, that's a PLAYER!" New ghillie is awesome looking.
Hey Syntac for the water pipes you were talking about just found out the intake you can place anywhere you need long as it is not obscured! It doesn't have to be near water! Hope this helps!
Ur giving me anxiety! 😆 I am always way more cautious lol. Thank u for the awesome entertainment 😀
You left behind a baby 135 Raptor, and a baby compy.
Am I the only one who finds immense joy In seeing a quetzal flying around
Syntac you keep uploading at 12:00pm+ so i have to sleep at 1:00pm
Quetzals!

2:44 let’s keep swimming 3:03 making our way (downtown)
Syntac without his op Dino's: how do I PVE
Me who has been using sub par Dino's for PVE for years: I am a god
You can mine oil out of some of the coral nodes that spawn in the ocean next to the shore. I don't remember that being a thing before.
5:52 Speaking of sinking into the ground, I had a Ichthyornis knocked out yesterday. After I went back to base to grab some narcotics it sinked into the rocks… a 145 sinked into the ground. Super annoying
IMO you would likely benefit from making some parachutes. In case you have to bail off a cliff with a Theri on your butt.
Building tip: You should add some sort of extremities to the sides to make it less boxy, and to make it less bland use stone pillars and either a stone or thatch roof for appearance
Hey syntac that wasn’t a purlovia just before you got the oil rock it’s silica pearls. Edit there’s actually a bunch more if you keep going around the corner
I've always thought sarcos were one of the underdogs of ark, great utility/protection Dino, relatively easy to get early game and they can definitely pull their Weight later game too!
The beach east of giga mountain was my home forever. The wife and me grew squids and mosa there. Reapers all over the beach for defense
Sarcos hitbox is so weird. They can bite in any direction. That's what looks like it is happening, a stutter between two animations. They've always sunk into the ground a little. Lay eggs quicker in water, too. That's your random Sarco info for the day.
I would love to see storms and tsunamis and even maybe tornados in this game. Hail and wind damage. That would bring a whole new difficulty and complexity to the game.
@jessicaculp3829
I hated the electrical storms on Scorched Earth, they damaged all your generators so you had to continually fix all your turret towers. The heat waves were terrible too, you basically couldn't play until they passed. Tornados would be terrible lol. Imagine you're just breeding some dinos and a Tornado randomly wipes your base. It was the same trying to build in the space biome in gen1, you didn't know you built in the wrong spot until a meteor shower came and wiped everything and killed all your tames.
I'm down for advanced weather but not if it damages structures. That just adds unnecessary grinding to fix/rebuild from an RNG wipe.
@@gravestone4840I absolutely hated the weather in scorched, loved the map and premise but despised the weather.
“Oh there’s an alpha”
5 seconds later
“OH MY GOD THAT WAS NOT OK”
🤣
Title: The Sarco is the Best Water Travelling Mount!
Thumbnail:Hi 😂 penguins
Hoowee! That sarco is flying! Through the water of course but dayum!😮
Would be funny stalking one of the other boys with the suit and mess a bit with them.
If you build your base in the snow, you will get a layer of snow over the buildings.
Always love your reactions on jump scares😂
That gilli is insane
You know what's missing to the structure mod ? Bridges made from wood and ropes going to the side of it that for sure would look cool
watching him miss and ignore that 135 baby raptor hurt just a bit, yes it is a craptor but... free baby
Quetzal at 7:50 , though i gotta Notify u early cuz u don't find them so often
Did he not see the mega swimming up to him @19:22 😂😂
People always sleep on water dinos, they can be some of the fastest ways to get around since we can't level movespeed on flyers yet.
Oh syntac stealing people’s shoes. Total Black Airforce energy.
When saddles break, they lose their armor but still work as saddles. It's not a complete visual bug. Idk where you heard that.
Ice Cave is beautiful as always but can't really build there without tames...
The land bridge is always good, fairly flat and easy to section off from Pve. can see it at 24:32 just look straight ahead in the distance🙏🙏🙏
18.6 35.8
that's where I set up, It aint flat you'll need pillars but its big enough for alot of guys
9:19 “They can now pounce you” no, Raptors can’t pounce. The only reason you got pounced by Jim’s raptor is because tamed raptors have the pounce ability, like how tamed megs can bleed
Just speaking for me, herbivore isle is my favorite spot, I feel so safe there and built a bridge to the mainland, or raft over.
