Yoo cool
For the issue underwater I would put a foundation connected to a pillar near the cliff edge underwater. It should let you build out farther.
I guess he may have already tried but id just keep placing structures connected to the down pillars and try and find a way around the problem spot.
I did a ridiculous amount of underwater building on vanilla, without s+. He can connect one pillar to another with 2 ceilings.
The pillar needn't extend all the way up to his base, just needs to be connected underwater to do the floaty trick. Placing snapped but non-touching pillars to do foundation support was never 100% reliable for support on a really large 'float' build with server-crushing load times. Snapped but non-touching just didn't always load right. He can extend the pillar all the way up to his base after a stich-together down in the water I'm sure, if he wants the non-floating aesthetic. max build height is (or was) like 6.8 behe-gates.
There's always tek underwater modules if he wants to go really crazy with support in impossible places. They are (or at least were) "supportless", but provided support to connected structures. But I did quite a lot of "what's keeping it up????" builds with just vanilla stonework.
its a massive rock under where the pillar was. I smashed the rock and could build right to the bottom.
After all the years of you having s plus I love watching the vanilla struggle
I actually like the roof without the point. The variation makes it look nice.
I genuinely think the snubbed point looks better than the full pointed foot
100% agree, it gives it a slightly sturdier(?) look
I love watching you build. Its so peaceful, from the commentary explaining your thoughts, the background music, the giant birds tearing each other appart in the background, the lighting and visuals, fucking birds screeching. So calming.
No clue if you'll see this or if this will work in your case, but I had a similar issue with foundation support. What worked for me was snapping a ceiling on to the pillar I had already touching the ground, snapping walls down from that ceiling to the ground, and then snapping foundations to the lowest wall.
I think, the problem is, he is building down. The whole floor above is of course supported from below by the neighbouring pillars. But from that floor he is building down, stretching the support until it isn’t supported anymore by the structures above. As soon, as he grounds it again (for instance by building sideways from a neighbouring pillar) everything should be fine.
I don’t think, foundation support like in ASE is a thing anymore.
@@Sgt__Hawk I built a massive bridge from beaver oasis to carno island with a floating castle at the midway point over the water (vanilla) ... it only had 2 pillars reaching up to touch the bridge due to load-distance limits on support. Just stich across 2 pillars with 2 ceilings, down in the water near their base. Snapped pillars which weren't physically touching were never 100% reliable for support in truly large builds (probably why they removed that snapping). Was always worth the extra stone to connect them with ceilings in a huge build.
I actually prefer the roof the way it looks now without the pointy end :) as always, great work!
Im always astounded by the bases Syn makes, I keep my bases small and cozy- these are giant empires LOL
hehe, and I thought his bases were small & cozy :P
@@kathrynck GAH you're wild XD
Syntac will never fail to amaze with his base creations!
fr
it looks like Dragonsreach great porch
@@SobBaget602 Dragon deez nuts!
@@jannovy7229 ha ha ha very funny
do you know where his base location is at? i want to build there in my single player lol
I absolutely love the colors of Argis you are getting! I love the cyan/glacial blue color of Nova & The orange & black of the new Argi
Make sure to tame an otter soon! They look even better now!
They are incredibly hard to see in rivers now with the water dynamic.
@@jonsolo32It’s a lot easier with r.VolumetricFog 0, it removes all cloudiness in rivers
Syntac be careful when you mine stone with the doedic in the water, if you get weight down your doedic will sink and drown super quick, i lost mine this way.
That'd be extremely horrifying.
Why did you not empty the stone from the doedic? I would rather lose a bit of stone than the doedic 😂
@@benclare5324 perhaps you missed the ”super quick” part
It should've still had a good bit of oxygen though, mustve been low on oxygen already or something. No way it drowned in seconds
happened to me too lol ...... number 76 in my "Creative ways to kill tames list".
In ireland these videos are coming out around dinner time, so this has now become my dinner time entertainment every evening, keep up the good work 👍
Syntac is Irish! (:
When building at scale I like to use the 4 high walls as an oversized pillars, looks really great as the normal pillars are waaaay too skinny
I used the quarter walls facing outward with pillars on each corner, very supportive and it looked super good
Facts, the walls are great for making pillars. I’ve even managed to finesse the placement of some behemoth gates when making large scale bridges
11:25 that is the secret to ark, always be prepared to do something that goes against your plans. Being prepared like that is the best way to handle the ark shenanigans.
The trouble with placing those pillars could be some form of hidden harvestable resource, such as stone. I had similar issues that I resolved by swinging my doed around the area
For your water building issue, you might try and pillar your way around the shore until you can get some snapped into the ground under water and walk those to your snap point. Doing it from the same structure should keep them aligned. Then, you wouldn't need to build in that floating bit of water that seems bugged, you would just need a ceiling on the bottom pillar you can place.
Or do the same and snap normal foundations from the pillar snap points and see if that works?
I just recently found this channel after looking up ark survival ascended stuff & I'm so glad I did :)
36:30 "what do you call them?.. THE SLOPITY BITS" 😂
I definitely giggled when you kept on explaining your building plans while an epic, aerial Argie battled ensued in the background and you only looked their way to say “hurry and gimme my water”. Golden moment 😂
Nothing Better than a fresh Syntac Video
Day 43 of telling Syntac that hes making everyone's day better
I currently got the cvids... so yes he's video is making my day a little better
Idk why u begging for likes💀
Todays my bday guys
True
Day 100 of telling people to stop this fake day thing (mine is real just trust my word)
I dont know how or why but your videos are so calming i tend to fall asleep to them so easily after a long day.
I thought I was the only one
I fell asleep about 7 mins into yesterdays video. Love TH-cam videos while I drift off
So glad you showed that half wall snap point at the start, it really confirms my build idea for the console version, I prefer the look of wood floors, but want to use stone foundations, another idea I have which will be useful for building in the snow or building an incubation room is hiding A/C units under the floors, hoping I can fit them so they dont show
I love how much you’ve been playing with these new structures! I’m a console player, so I don’t have my hands on the game yet, but I’m super excited to start building. Your build already looks amazing. I can’t wait to get started. ❤
Kickass vid man, love it when you show your building stuff, noice work!
YAY I love the building videos sm! I love the way Syn builds things!
Agree that making the floor look thicker is better. When it's just ceilings it doesn't look properly supported. Wish they had thicker pillars though, cause the long spindly pillars also don't look like they could support anything.
I suggest using quarter walls to make a THICC pillar
Syntacccc!! Remember you can use photo mode when you want to show a bunch of stuff with your buildings😂😂
Thank you syntac I love the long videos in my opinion it gives more entertainment and I also love the building episodes your just amazing in general keep up the great work ❤
Literally GOATED content Syntac! love sitting down and watching every day👏
Yesss I’ve been waiting so long to see this built
Loving the asa content man 👍👍
I can't even imagine how long it took to gather all that stuff with vanilla settings. It looks amazing!
The building on ASA is soo welcoming!
the base is looking great! keep up the good work!
YESSS! i wait all day for these videos haha
Literally thought to myself “he should switch those quarter walls around. It would look cool” then you did it 😂
Been waiting to see this build.
Just a guess but a theory for the foundation support issues;
All of your base is on the same foundation snap grid, so is it possible that you can't build further down due to some base sprawl limit? It could be that your reaching a foundation height or width limit by spreading your base over so much space, and so the game won't llow you to build further down because of that
If so, removing the foundations from the top level would allow you to build lower, or finding some kind of base sprawl setting in server settings and increasing it could fix the problem. Otherwise, idk...
It's looking amazing as always Syntac!!! Was not a fan of the wooden pillar just splitting the half walls in the center of that one side, but you made the upper pillars like it so it looks great now!
I used to build nice bases .. but i feel like ive become some smooth brained builder these days. everything is a box or a half height pen with no roof =/.
beyond a fabrication and storage area and "shelter" for my dinos i get vapor locked trying to make it look nice. 😮💨
Lucky for us we have Syntac's builds to show us what nice things can be built.
just thought with the current structures and snap placements making an actual birdcage seems legit. also at 41:50 if you use quarter ceilings off the wall you can make it look like the roof is actually like a building. if you ever decide to try it. this build gave me some ideas for something in the future. i also think there is a half railing for wood, just got to hit r or whatever button till it shows. not sure for others.
That look gorgeous syntac well done
Lets just hope them devs are whatching this and taking notes
I love building bases like you even though it gets frustrating sometimes its worth it when your done. Can't wait to see the end result ❤
I'm with you on the holes. They were a great place to put torches.
For building the celling poking out, you can snap foundations on the pillars underwater, so that you can continue building up there on the main building.
I think a rounded roof (in the sense of turning those triangular pieces you used for the spikes part upside down and having them meet in the middle over the balcony) could look great and would also probably work with the foundation issue. I love the building content :)
The Argy battle in the background and Syntac just going about his business explaining his build hilarious
Looking like nice project the face of that base once finished is gonna looks so good.👌🏻
Very enjoyable episode Syntac! Tutorials are definitely great, but I like the process in which you are sorting out what you want next in the current stage.
Also kind of curious that once the base is completed, how long would it take to load in the whole base when coming back out of render distance? Cause that the main concern that I don't enjoy building large base in ASE😂
Giga: *"I think not."*
*Voice over man speaks* @Syntac is "The Argy Man" coming to a cinema near you soon.
when you were building the stone base platform I got MASSIVE Shadow Of The Colossus vibes
Syntac - Breeding King is back ! haha
Syntac the way you caught that Archy was magnificent haha and the way he was sitting at base untamed was majestic hahaha 🤣
35:55 you know when it comes back you're going to be in awe right?
8:58 the 150 argy is like " this is mine now"
Aberration should get a green/blue/red crystal structures that would be awesome that glow in the dark and resist the nameless
Your videos are so cozy to watch while eating
that argi is beautiful colour. love the blue!
Watching syntac play ark is like giving a toddler your most favorite toy. You cant help but feel like they should be doing something else with it.
This series is fire
been waiting for this to finish my day❤
The stone pillar combined with rhe wooden one gave me "overgrown" vibes like the roots/nature reclaimed the building
8:58 at this point, the Arge was just begging to be tamed😊
47:18 now both Nova and Agent Travis each have their own boyfriend💕
I think i have said this before but you help me find my will to play ark! thanks for always coming out with cool content for us!!
POV watching this at work thank you syntac for making my days go by quicker
Slopudity bits 😂😂😂😂 love it! 🎉🎉
Love a good building episode.
Swim your doedi dowm to where you want to place the pillar, and see if there are some very small breakable rocks. I've had the same problem with pillars in water, and that seemed to be the problem.
Wooo we love the long episodes
Never been so happy to see a post in my life😖 keep up the great work man💯
In one of your next videos I would love to see how everyone else is doing on the server, would love to see what other builds/tames people have been up to.
I’m so jealous of your base creations
The dimorphs look amazing atm, just tamed a few for the colours alone
Love the videos and have a base suggestion I would love to see the sides of the base as a stable are for prized future Dino’s I’ve had the idea for a while and have always wanted to see it implemented
that base looks pretty cool
Syntac found the drop down box for the tracking menu 🎉🎉🎉
I haven’t played Ark in years but I still watch pretty much every video you produce! Keep up the great work Syn we appreciate the time and effort you put in to entertain us.
I really really like that front piece even without the continous slope. The horizontal bit almost makes it look like a silhouette of mountains from inside
I thought the same thing and I love it
Something cute you can do is expand a building in length by one quarter wall on each end, that way you can place roofs on the very tip of those quarter walls and have a little overhang since a roof has the same width as a wall!! It looks really good trust me :3 I don't know if this is understandable, kind of hard to explain through text
Loving the longer vids 🤟
Man i love your building Videos 👍
You could try walking your foundations underwater and seeing if you can get them to snap together like large steps to the bottom and from there, pillar up. Worth a shot.
Keep up the good vids!
I feel like that should make cladding for bases. So if you wanted a thatch ceiling but it keeps being destroyed, you could make a stone ceiling then add cladding to make it look like thatch.
If you read this the problem with building that point without pillars is using Minecraft thinking. On the outer pillar on the ground add a foundation to it and go out as far as you want to build up top. Now everything is hidden in water. Because everything is connected it will allow building up to without seeing pillars, sincerely a former Arkitect
Thank you for your videos!
42:20 the first roof iteration was really good
You gotta name the New Argy Phoenix! With the colors it has he looks like he's a fire spirit
I love how every video his always dying of thirst an hunger i can’t wait for you to get tech again so you don’t have to worry about feeding yourself 😂
Awesome stuff! I'm loving the new building but there are definitely some minor issues. Also can we talk about how awesome the new colors of wild creatures are?! Amazing
You gave me an idea doing that floor like that, AC units under the floor instead of on top.
AC under the floor is genius
Instead of snapping the base back a 1/4 you could have brought it out past the base and used corner walls/roofs to make it round up to the wall above. Kinda like the bottom part of a pontoon. The roof looks good! The wood floors does look great! I think the stone walls are great and you can use thatch or wood roof pieces hanging . Maybe a wood window/double door in the center of each roof like a traditional barn. But it's looking good.
Just a heads up, the old argy trap (walls, door, a 2 rails, hatch ceiling) still works if you add 2 rails to each side of the hatch ceiling for a total of 6 rails. Bit easier of a trap to build and use.
that dino trap hes made on top of his starter stone shack has really served him well
What a georgeos building 🎉❤ keep it up bro your'e amazing
40:07 the pointy bit of the roof is called a flying gable
