I completely understand when you were talking about living in the moment but also getting sad about original college plans not working out. Your story is very similar to mine (I went to community college, went to school in FL for a year, and then transferred to a school in Oregon) so I completely get it. I don’t know if it gets easy, but by focusing mostly on the positives helps a lot :).

I'm a very firm believer that when one door (opportunity) closes, it's for a reason and something better always comes along. I was a lot like you, my original college plans fell through and I had to give up what I thought was what I wanted, and moved back home to pursue another degree. I did it though, and I graduated and I ended up MUCH better off than I ever would have, had I stuck out my original plan.
I'm very happy with my career now, and I'm making significantly more than I thought I ever would and I have a career I can grow.
We have to let go of things that we 'think' should have happened. If we keep a hold on those things, then it keeps us in the past and keeps us thinking 'what if?'. There is no 'what if'! You're not living that life anymore, you are where you are for a reason and it'll all pay off. Drop the 'what if', because now it's 'what will be'. Live in the moment, drop the past and enjoy what you have. Doors close for a reason, while others open so go through it and embrace it.

I remember watching your video about transferring last year and this just came up in my recommended videos! I transferred to a different university after my first year too and things went SO differently to how I had planned but I graduated (years ago now) and am really happy with where I have got myself in life! Everything happens for a reason 💖

Welcome to Gainesville. I know nothing about your channel but this came across my feed. Would like to recommend Greenhouse church in Gainesville. They have college groups and meet on campus as well. Most of Gainesville is safe. I would use the buddy system going out to events. Many homeless near campus but most are harmless. Do not leave items in plain view in your car.
