  • When the 2013 Accord is travelling faster than 20 kilometres per hour, Forward Collision Warning is designed to alert the driver with a series of beeps if a possible collision with a vehicles ahead is detected. Using a camera mounted between the rearview mirror and the windshield, FCW is able to detect whether or not a frontal collision is likely. This video instructs Accord owners on how to adjust the settings for or disable FCW.

I feel as though the warnings are not good enough to make sure you get warned. The audible beeps can easily go unheard when the music is being played at a volume of around 20/40. Also the flashing lights only flash 3 times when they should be constant. Also the FCW indicator is all the way on the very top right of the dash and can be missed also. Just suggestions

This deadass saved me from rear-ending someone this morning. I was going about 25, and just wasn't paying attention, I braked but I'm not sure if my model had auto brake, so it might have stopped me too, cuz I stopped literally a foot away, it was really close haha

so on the ex-l model which i have, it WILL NOT apply the brakes. Is that correct??? i will only hear sounds and beeps but NO amount of braking will automatically be applied. Correct?

you're correct, the car will not automatically apply the brake for you. You will have to brake on your own, but you will hear the sound and see the lights.
