In all of the fire scene videos I've seen on yt, you do notice more "HUSTLE" in the smaller depts. Although they are the largest dept in the entire U.S., the FDNY appears to be the one who lolligags the most.
@sos650sos anybody would know that you hit the fire with the deck gun BEFORE you send people in……the aim is to knock down the bulk of the fire to make it safer to send people in! They are there for a reason!
Did the deck gun drive the fire out the back, being no fire from side windows near front??. Was entry door blocked, 8 minutes in and no water on fire from interior? Not a good idea to rope the roof line over the fire apt balcony.

@@richardmeo2503 As long as exterior water doesn't block the Pressure Release Location, heat and smoke won't be pushed anywhere other than back out the window. The fire in those two windows should have been completely extinguished in the first 2 minutes of arrival.

They could have used the deck gun until they ran out of water and charged the LDH. I don't know why there would be a delay from the guy on the ground for flowing water into the fire room, but trying to give benefit of the doubt. Then again, it's CA, they send guys to the roof to cut holes even after it has vented three times!

That's because it makes perfect sense. As long as you don't eliminate the Pressure Release Location by blocking it with the incoming water.

The engine was waiting for the supply to be charged. But, still could have done a quick hit to slow it down until they got water support.
