    A heated lunch box that plugs into your 12 volt cigarette lighter outlet in your truck is worth every penny. Plug it in a hour or two before lunch and you have a hot meal with steam coming off it. Highly recommend!

    Night before: Make 2 turkey sandwiches and a ham bagel, cut apple slices, prefill Mr. Coffee maker. Morning: Press button on home coffee maker, fill 32 oz. coffee mug, eat a ham breakfast bagel and handfull of baby carrots. Lunch: 2 bottles of water, 2 sandwiches and apple. Every single day, same food for breakfast and lunch.

    I’ve been brown bagging for decades. The way to make it achievable was to let myself eat out once a week. In the first year, I leaned heavily into that one lunch of tacos or whatever to keep me on track. Now, I know I can eat out once a week, but I eat out about 4 times a year, instead.

    Grocery shop on Sunday to buy everything for the week. Everything prepared the night before and placed in the fridge to take in the morning. Coffee; brewed at home, fill a 40 oz Yeti and stays warm well into afternoon, while avoiding the drive-thru expensive stuff. Breakfast; scrambled eggs with bacon or sausage, and hash browns or tater tots. Find a microwave somewhere and heat up so I start with a hot meal. Mid-morning snacks; mozz cheese sticks and some kind of power bar. Lunch; usually ham & cheese on rye sandwich, a few chips, and a half dill pickle to finish. Afternoon snacks; two hard boiled eggs and maybe some trail mix. Note; when coffee runs out I switch to water for the rest of the day. Been a solid routine, for a good 3-4 years now, and I sure don't see going back to fast food drive-thru's daily anytime soon. Share ideas with your work friends and really ramp up good ideas for breakfast/lunches. Cheers! Pete in Arizona - KI7LIL

    This is the first time I’m hearing about microwaveable metal containers. This is really a thing? I’ve been using plastic just to cut down and the weight/bulk of storing glass.

      The metal container is pretty sweet, I would very much stay away from plastic just from it breaking down overtime and getting into your food

      @ the metal container that I use is something that I found at the local Marshall’s. So far I really like it and I’ve not had any issues with it. I used to have a glass container, but I broke it in a factory break room and decided to try to find a metal container

    • @TheFarmsteadWay
      @TheFarmsteadWay  17 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      @ I have no idea. All I know is that on the packaging for the metal container is it said that it was microwave safe and I did some research online. It said that rounded edges on a metal container allows the microwaves to safely pass around the container without reflecting and causing sparks. I cannot guarantee that any medicine container with rounded edges will be safe

    I fix air conditioners too. I eat in restaurants for lunch. A lot of restaurants have a lunch special that is about the same price as fast food. I also stop at restaurants for breakfast, I work for myself, so I make time to eat, and I am a skinny guy. I’m not eating cold food, unless it’s a sandwich from Subway. I am a first time viewer,born and raised in Ohio. This video caught my attention about packing a healthy lunch to avoid fast food. I paused this video to check out your other content and what do I see? You working out with whatever is available to not get a “Blue Collar Pooch” and to be healthy, next shot is you lighting up a pipe and belching smoke like the trains of my youth! What is wrong with your video content, have you learned nothing about the dangers of tobacco?
    You don’t like heating food in the microwave in plastic containers and yet you promote one of the deadliest health habits known to medicine. I grew up in the 50’s and everyone smoked, my mother carried her own ashtray all of my childhood. When they began to link smoking to cancer and heart disease my father loudly proclaimed “That is Communist Propaganda!” He died at age 54.
    Take a step back,think about your family and get help wherever you can. I have heard that this addiction is harder to overcome than heroin but it can be done.
