Themes from the film "Silverado"

Epping first had a brass band in 1894…..so why, you ask are we celebrating our 80th year this evening (as surely it should be the
121st birthday concert)?
The original Epping band was a victim of the 1st world war, as the called up or too busy with the war effort, and the band dwindled away until n 1933 Epping Urban Council appointed a new clerk to the Council, a Mr. Benjamin Hiscott of Yeovil, Somerset. Ben Hiscott was an accomplished pianist, organist, teacher and conductor of brass bands.
So in 1935 he invited members of the public who were interested, to get in touch, and in a short time the Epping Silver Band was
reborn.
The piece you just heard was ‘Silverado’, the theme tune to the 1985 Western movie of the same name, with an academy award nominated score by Bruce Broughton. The band arrangement is by Gareth Green.
