Since none of the other Germans in the comments have pointed this out, I feel compelled to clarify that Schwarzwälder Kirschtorte is the cake, while Kirschwasser, or Kirsch for short, is the cherry liqueur. The word Wasser literally translates to water, but it was historically also used for distilled liquids such as spirits and perfumes.
The "Pulpatoon" that Anna was cooking (starting at 22:38) is what finds it's way onto South African festive tables as "Tur-duc-ken" mostly at Christmastime!
The Black Forest /Schwartzwalder Kirschtorte looks infinitely better than any I've ever seen in a regular or speciality cake shop - leaves me salivating!
Every time I watch you prepare your recipe I dream of eating So I try to recreate the recipe using my own substitute for the expensive champagne with a cheaper version of f wine Thanks for your expertise in cooking
I just hope my grandchildren inherit my taste for good recipes and execute them. After executing them, eating and enjoying these wonderful dishes. Culture is everything!👑😊
I get some larger shallots in NYC., usually in shops that cater to a Southeast Asian market. They cost about $4 per Lb. I like to fine slice them and fry them crisp to use as a textured topping.
I had to create an original recipe in a cooking course I took decades ago. I made ‘garlic jello’. It’s quite good. Lime Jello, tiny shrimp, champagne, garlic juice and crushed garlic. I replaced half the cold water in the jello with champagne and some garlic juice. As the jello is setting I added the tiny shrimp and crushed garlic. I served it with a dessert mayonnaise on top, and caviar when I could get good caviar. It’s a fabulous appetiser, colorful and tasty.
Well, i am german and we do this cake diffrently! We put starch, flour and little butter in the sponge and we don't mix the cherries with the cream. We put cherries on the sponge and on top cream mixed with the cherry brandy!
As cute as Michael can be, sometimes I feel like the chefs just go 👀 “Uh-hu, yeah” while he’s telling a story. But I get it! Being a chef you have to do 2 things at once. I know if I was cooking I’d burn everything while I listened to Michael talk.
Tbf, I've seen Michael told what a saviogn (can't find the spelling for my life) is at least 3 times now, and he always pretends (?) he never heard it and it's incredibly fascinating to learn 😂
The dish that Anna made to today with turkey, duck, chicken, is now.a bit of a fad dish here in the US called . . . “Turducken.” What is Turducken? A whole turkey, stuffed with a whole duck, stuffed with a whole chicken. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Turducken
My brother in law made a turducken one year, including wrapping it in bacon and deep frying it. The turkey still wound up overcooked and dry. I think the force meat layering, and roasting as the cooking method, must do a lot to preserve the moisture in the birds.
@@pahanjayasooriya2513 And? Hitler made "Germans" an insult. Great Britain fought against Germany in both wars. Germany was there long before and is a beautiful country with good people. The lineage of the Royal Family is German, Danish, English, Scottish, Welsh and Irish but they are British. I find it very odd to dwell on their "German" lineage, when the country is overrun with Muslims and Hindus, etc.
I have tried to get a black bottle of the King's Ginger Liqueur for a while with no success. It seems it's not sold anymore in the USA. Are there any places in England that still sell the original? Also, I can't see how it's not fraudulent to place the same name on a bottle of liqueur that is not of the same recipe. If the recipe has changed, then, it is NOT the King's Ginger Liqueur.

Alas ... ye olde Kinges and Queenes never had a hot meal in their lives. I like to think it balances out, to a small extent, the horrors they authorized.
I wondered that. Even where they make up two plates they both share from the one. Maybe they have it to photograph for possible edits then the crew gets it? They take it home? There certainly is quite a bit of it.
Looks sumptuous ...maybe I will replace the fish steak with soya slabs beaten & marinated with Nori( sushi leaves sheet,) & garlic ginger pastr ....🔥both the steamed nori sheets & ginger garlic paste nicely blended together with flax powder ,& peanut milk curd .... beaten into the Soya slab & marinated & refrigerated overnight & the butter in the sauce will be replace with a thick nut paste mixed in nori sheet stock .......the cavier_ will be made with portions of the tofu marinate...
You're taking the joy out of cooking. Beating meat is best done with all the strength you can muster. That's what makes it fun! You can take out your personal frustrations by flattening chicken breasts.
Uhm... The video title says, "King's Ginger Crafted For Edward VII," but the recipe is Salmon poached in Champagne for Charles 2. I'm a bit disappointed.
I'm disappointed too. I know Highgrove sells, or used to sell, a ginger liqueur, and the idea of it has always appealed to me. I was hoping to discover how to make a home-made version of Edward VII's cordial. ☹
They do get annoying saying how "rich" everything is. Look-You're making good food for celebrations-enjoy-get over the calorie count. Besides----It's a cake!

I love Chef Anna and Chef Paul. 🥰 This show is never boring, always very informative and is humorous too. The narrator is so charming
What a great looking dish. Champagne Salmon. beautiful. great show

I will definitely try cooking this salmon recipe for my friends; I love you guys, awesome chefs, awesome how to cook in style show
It all looked good, but that Black Forest gateau at the end- was the bomb!

OH WONDERFUL. SO GLAD YOU ARE BACK WITH US. I LOVE IT.
Love Michaels dry humour “it’s not gonna get away now.” 😆🇨🇦
Every time I watch you prepare your recipe I dream of eating

I loved the way Michael has this face of pure bliss before he even takes a bite of the salmon.
I just hope my grandchildren inherit my taste for good recipes and execute them. After executing them, eating and enjoying these wonderful dishes. Culture is everything!👑😊
Finally!!! I’ve been waiting for this!
Yes!! Me, too!!😊😊😊
Me too!!!
Where has this been? I’ve been binge watching on a snowy day!
Those have to be the biggest cherries I’ve ever seen!
I didn’t think it was possible to make a turducken fancy but they did it. Good job 👍
I love when they say “Look At That!”
I keep telling myself
" I can make this recipe!!"
Can't wait to try one
Joe Fattorini! I love Joe.
Always a uplifting treat to see thru the eyes of Royalty ❤👑❤ Thank you!
Those cherries are massive and gorgeous 😋
Thank you for uploading all episodes!
I raised 2 boys alone and both learned my cooking skills and are quite good cook...this dad is so 🥲 proud!
I love happy mood on the Royal 👑 kitchen
Shallots are HUGE in the UK. Our's are so much smaller....more like the size of a golf ball at the very largest.
I personally love shallots over an other type in the family of Allium cepa var.
I get some larger shallots in NYC., usually in shops that cater to a Southeast Asian market. They cost about $4 per Lb. I like to fine slice them and fry them crisp to use as a textured topping.
The multi-bird dish we do here in the States, as well. We call it a Tur-duck-en.
Yay! This is the best series!

What is a dessert mayonaise?
Sounds like a 1940s-1950s style recipe where jello was new and novel and used in both dessert and savory foods.
Can’t wait to make this salmon dish yummy !!!
I like Black Forest cake too😋
So, that's a more sophisticated Turduken.
oh no! mayo to ruin that beautiful salmon? thats sacrilege! Those adorable wine bottles for Marys doll house were so accurate. (and so cute)
Well, i am german and we do this cake diffrently! We put starch, flour and little butter in the sponge and we don't mix the cherries with the cream. We put cherries on the sponge and on top cream mixed with the cherry brandy!
I never knew that what we call tur-duck-en on our side of the pond has such an ancient and regal history!

Pro tip : you can watch series on flixzone. Me and my gf have been using them for watching loads of movies recently.
@Derek Henry Definitely, I've been watching on flixzone} for months myself :D
I’m really enjoying this video !!!!!!!!
I loved this show. Any future ones on the horizon?
Such beautiful plates! Thank you for your works of art & heart.
I wonder where you can find the recipes. If you would test some recipes .
Wonderful doc
I love it!!!
In TX we call the multi bird dish, Turduckin.
Mrs. Crocombe kicked them out of her kitchen.😂😂😂
Black Forest cake is Germany, through and through.
So is the British royal family.

Where can I find a written recipe of this amazing turkey, duck and chicken recipe? Sorry to be a newbie…

I would not eat most of what they cook but it's fun to watch.
heart attack on a cake holder 🤣🤣
What a way to go! 😋🍰
Could you tell the Cromwell’s favorite dish?
Where do I find the recipe for salmon in Champagne?

Tur-duck-hen...yummy

How do they keep the food hot when it come from the kitchen which is far a way from the dining room??
Chafing dishes had/have a lil fuel section under food to keep food warm, also cloche was placed over serving dishes for transport to dining room
Chafing dish fuel is stereo today, I'd suspect it was just a flame w/ coal bck in the day, and later fuel as its invented

@@theresadoll5374 it’s so different to how we eat today. Their meats were likely covered in grease which had solidified somewhat in the cooling.

What do they do with all the leftover food in this series? Serve it to the crew? Donate it to charity? Throw it away? I really hope it isn't the last.

“Force” meat is WAY too close to horse meat 😂 I keep thinking that’s what they are saying!
