I just started using Spectra, and I love it! I will say I was "trying to use another builder, paid version," and I never got a site up. It was way too confusing. Another benefit is that there are lots of "how to" videos on TH-cam for Spectra. Thanks for yours.

Hi, do you know if the templates included in Spectra are made with Spectra blocks? As far as I know Astra templates are still using core Gutenberg blocks.
I have not touched Gutenberg as I've been waiting for it to go thru its growing pains and get to a more seamless build point. After watching your video, Specrta looks like it could be the tool that makes creating websites on Gutenberg that much more easier. For the first time I'm excited to try Gutenberg and give Spectra a try.
I completely understand the hesitation. It's for good reason. Spectra is turning out to be really something special. My favorite part though is that it is a complete solution where most sites will only need this one plugin for everything.

Adam, does Spectra work with ACF or Jetengine for custom post types? Or is that coming in the pro version with the Theme Builder?
Not sure I missed, but what theme do you recommend for Spectra to use? And (very important for me) does it come with header/footer builder too or what do you prefer to build these in Gutenberg (coming from Elementor)?
Cool thing is you can use Spectra with any theme. I do like some of the feature enhancements that have come to Astra Theme, but Spectra will work with all themes.
Excellent review! I am curious if there is any benefit to disabling unused blocka in Spectra. If there is, it would be good to have some way to quickly identify and disable them after design is complete.
Thank you. So when a block is not being used in a layout, there is no load on your site. The only thing is when you are looking at the list of blocks to add to your page, the icon will be there. So this allows you to only show what you want to have shown. There are some blocks I just will never use for the sites I build, so I do like the option.

This looks really cool! Not that long ago you were championing Kadence and making videos for them. Are you moving away from Kadence and fully adopting Spectra?
How will this work with Full Site Editing in WordPress? Does it bypass that and stick with the Customizer approach?

I asked Adam a similar question some time ago and I can't remember his exact response, but the impression I got was that he isn't tribal about WordPress stuff - he basically said that if he sees something that he thinks is good or important for his audience to know, he lets us know about it and leaves it up to us to decide if it's right for us or not.
I picked up a Kadence LTD and I am pretty happy with it so far.
Hey Derek. Great question. Both are great. I prefer the clean interface and well organized options in Spectra, but I will let all Kadence users know that Kadence is also working on this for Kadence Blocks, but it may be a few months out.
And yes, I am not tribal, and this TH-cam channel will cover new things that come out, even though I have not done the greates job at that this year :-(.
Hey Adam, which Wordpress theme are you using these days? Did you switch from Astra?
Adam, question: given that spectra is built over Gutenberg, if we ever remove or replace the spectra plugin, will the site break?
Hi Adam. The plugin name is still showing up as "ultimate addons for gutenberg" at my plugin's list. Will its name change automaticly or at next update?
It should show as Spectra and soon v2 will be pushed out. Spectra was formerly named ultimate addons for gutenberg, but this new version is a complete rewrite. It is backwards compatible.

@@barsk76 No. It still has the old name, and no flexbox containers. They'll release Spectra 2 any year now, and it will likely be an update that will convert your blocks to their new format or something like that.
Long time, no see :) Thanks for the video Adam. Spectra is really well thought out. They looked at every block in the market and made it better in 1 block set! I like how the settings are organized. Waiting for the final release for sure. Hope they will have a look over Convert Pro as well one day!

Yea Spectra is really nice. The best UI / UX out of all the ones I have tried. Spectra Pro will have a popup builder.

Clearly, this is their way of fully embracing Gutenberg moving forward. For those who will stick to Elementor for a while, do they plan on an Elementor version of Spectra?

Yep, 404, archive pages, etc. It's all coming later this year. My guess would be before black friday.

I am very interested in Spectra because I am tired of elementor breaking all the time. I wonder how stable Spectra will be, and if will come with its own set of problems similar to those that occur in elementor.

Spectra need more features to change the position of the items and the responsivity, but is a good tool.
You had me at flex box. I am not sure why Gutenberg does not have that by default. I have ultimate add on for Gutenberg so does my license for that cover this?
So I was doing some research and their starte templates looked familiar. Are they the same team behind ASTRA themes? Is Astra switching their business to focus on Spectra? Astra is a WordPress theme developed by the Brainstorm Force company, and the same company develops Spectra blocks. So, Astra and Spectra are 2 different products from the same company and they complement each other.
What do you think of this page builder compared to Elementor? I'm using it with Astra Pro

I was looking into getting Bricks Builder or (maybe) Elementor. Do you think Spectra is a better option.
I understand the basics of coding sites (flex, grid, etc). I'd just prefer something simpler, with prebuilt themes and components.
I believe Spectra v2 is being released this week. It's free so it will be easy to try out. If I was starting today, I would choose Spectra all the way.

Nothing beats Elementor
I previously bought Astra pro, Spectro pro is not as powerful as Kadence, and even not comparable to Stackable.
In what way here? I am extremely familiar with the features of all 3 and gotta say you couldn't be more wrong! Spectra Pro has 10X more than Kadence and Stackable combined.
Does Kadence or Stackable offer:
- Loop builder? NOPE! Neither offer this essential component to building a custom websites.
- Popup builder? NOPE! Neither offer this essential part of any website. Kadence will sell you a separate thing for $80 with is 2X the cost of Spectra Pro.
- Motion effects? NOPE! Nether offer this
- Globally linked styles? NOPE! Neither offer this which is essential for workflows and design consistency
- I can go on and on about AI, animations, Instagram, image galleries
But I think you may have some ax to grind vs being rooted in facts or reality.
@@WPCrafter Foe example, using Tab block, Kadence and Stackable has a lot of more settings, while Spectra offers very limited settings. Also, Stackable and Kadence is easier with dynamic content, while Spectra isn't.
@@HaifengZhu-pn3uq Are you basing that on actual personal usage because I can tell you for a fact that Spectra's dynamic content is far superior to Kadence, Stackable, and Generate Blocks. It is truly dynamic and offers far more options. This is based on actual usage of all of them.

Yea, makes it hard to try before you buy. In the case of Spectra, there is nothing to buy though.
