The amount of people who didn’t recognise the huge building screaming “THIS IS KALOS IM THE EIFELL TOWER” hurt me to my core
I mean, the only things (at least what I saw) a majority of people remember about Kalos/Gen 6 were “Game freak forgot about Pokémon Z”, “This game killed the franchise” in which I honestly disagree to an extent and most importantly for ALOT of fans, Mega Evolution.

I love how Pokemon is one of the very few franchises where fans are more excited that a game isn’t coming out for awhile.
My favorite part is everyone's sigh of relief when they saw Game Freak at the beginning instead of Ilca LOL
No kidding, as much as I would've loved to have seen the True Unova Dragon, Kalos needed it more cause of how bare bones XY was, like they literally shoved Zygarde to the anime and Gen 7.
@@TY-zv5weI feel bad for ILCA, they're great Devs, they helped a lot on Dragon Quest 11 for both PS and Switch. Did such a good job on Ace Combat that the publisher entrusted them the next game, and their Sand World looks amazing. If you go thru their concept arts of BD/SP they look like they planned to do something massive, but I guess Pokémon company pushed them to make what we ended up getting...

I'm a game dev. Just once in my life, I wanna feel the high I imagine the Game Freak devs feel when they drop a banger like this.
Nintendo gets one every once in a while. It's the reason they are sometimes called "The kings of Left Field", like when they announced Smash right after Octo-Expansion, nobody thought Smash was going to be back so soon in the Switch's lifespan.
Im also a game dev and its my one goal to make games that do something for someone else what they have for me over the yeara.
To see people get happiness from something i help create thats the dream!
I also feel for Game Freak when the community is so harshly critical. They’re a smaller dev team than most people think and are on HARD deadlines given that it’s basically Pokémon standard to drop something every year. Likely working on multiple games at once, trying to please everyone… it can’t be easy. I’m incredibly proud of them for everything they do

GTA fans knew that GTA 6 had to come in any moment, and they are just frustrated they STILL have to wait.
Pokémon Legends Z-A was not on the minds of even the most hopeful Gen 6 fan. I should know, I am one of them (Just a BDSP remake with fixed difficulty would have been enough for me, though). Hell, not even Nostradamus saw this shit coming.
We won indeed. We don't want that Legends game be rushed down and ruined. We can wait for good results.

Most likely cause GTA fans have FINALLY accepted that as long as people keep paying out the a** for every bit of DLC and extra random stuff they throw into GTA Online they aren’t giving the developers any real reason to make 6

@@sixzero2733You say that, but we don't know how long it's been in production so far. Granted, we didn't see any gameplay, so work may not have even started yet for all we know.
Bear in mind they have LA as a basis for their code now (if the gameplay is similar,) which may give them lots of time to flesh out aspects such as Mega. That's a moot point if they spend a year just putting together the story. We'll find out in a year.

To those who thought past gimmicks would never come back, eat your words. I've been saying that since the release of Legends Arceus just so they don't make a gimmick to similar to a past one and people I talked with hated that idea, and yes that would probably include Z-Moves and G-Max to those that hate the gimmicks but it at least gives them an opportunity to be used again.

I'm pretty sure when people say that they meant for future gens. Not for remakes or Legends associated to the gen/region. Ofcourse it would return on a game set on those regions.

As someone whose first ever Pokémon game was X/Y, I am beyond ecstatic for this game! I don’t even care how they approach this new Legends game - we’re going back to Kalos and we’re getting Mega Evolution (the absolute BEST gimmick in Pokémon history) back; that’s more than good enough for me! I like how with just that presentation, Gamefreak said "We hear you loud and clear!"
- they're not dropping the game this year, giving themselves more time to cook
- they're doing a Legends game, which despite not having as good sales as Gen 9, had better reviews and was loved more by the community, even being said to be among the best Pokemon games to date by many
- they're doing Pokemon Z, even though it has been 11-12 years, but they're actually doing it
- and most importantly, they're bringing the best feature ever, Mega Evolution!
If they finally give us Mega Flygon, then they'll prove this point even more!

Not sure if it was said already, but what made this reveal so hilarious is the fact that EVERYTHING was either hinting at Johto or Unova as being the game to be released. Hell, I suspected a Unova remake when the TCG spokesperson came on the screen in a black suit and there was a black background. But, surprise surprise, we got Kalos.

my favorite part is how far off everyone's expectations were (except those whose guessed a Legends game, but I bet none expected it'd be in Kalos) except Rin's offhanded "I don't speak french" which was the closest anyone got before the trailer started.
im so glad that legends is a series now. were definitely getting more legends games in the future, which means we get to see the regions in a whole new perspective

All the mainline games got either a third version (Yellow, Crystal, Emerald, Platinum), a sequel (B2W2), a remake (FRLG, HGSS, ORAS, USUM, Let's Go, BDSP), or DLC (SwSh, SV)... except for XY.
And boy did they fix that by finally giving us not Pokemon Z, but Pokemon LEGENDS Z-A. Kalos is finally gonna get the love it deserves.
I say this as a hardcore Sinnoh fan who absolutely loved the hell out of Legends Arceus, which more than made up for whatever BDSP was in my opinion.
I think USUM qualifies more as a remake since it's essentially an alternate Alola, but otherwise glad to see joy in your post 😊

As someone who was a fan of pokémon their whole life but started playing the games from Gen 6. This reveal was unbelievable, and probably the best time to start up that Lgends Arceus that's been sitting on my shelf since Christmas
TCG implications:
Year 3 Gen 9 (SV09-12) we're getting Mega ex cards again!
When they announced ex cards I thought there was a chance to get megas as a card type again and I'm happy to see it!
New megas are definitely coming too.
Also heard someone say the Gen 9 connection: AZs floette is a secret paradox pokemon

This is EXACTLY what I wanted. My dream scenario was just moving on straight to Kalos. Save Unova and Johto for later. Kalos needs attention tbh. There was so much stuff in that game that wasn't finished. I just didn't think TPC would do something like that, but they actually did. I am EXCITED.

I knew it was Kalos as soon as I saw Furfrou, Klefki and Flabébé in one frame. I’m like “those aren’t Unova Pokémon!” And I instantly recognized Lumiose tower. My sister was like “Really?” And then the word “Lumiose” showed up and I went CALLED IT

Yeah, no, people who already knew about Haussman's urbanisation of Paris (I bet a lot of people learned about it after the direct) and who have seen that particular style from pictures of Paris or when they were in Paris would have known it's more like Paris.
And for me, I'm speaking from experience, because that's the country I'm from we're talking about here.

The difference is in when the major renovations took place,
Causing certain styles to be more common.
There's no style that's exclusive to Paris,
But there's ones that are more common there than in other countries.

@@clemente3966I'm not particularly familiar with that type of architecture or it's history, but the dead giveaway was the combination of the music and the architecture. From the architecture I 100% knew there was no way it was Johto or Unova, and from the music, I knew it wasn't Galar. That just left Kalos. I was still in denial so that I wouldn't get my hopes up only for them to be trampled on.

I was in my god damn algebra class when I decided to watch the presents. At first, I thought this was some kind of stupid ass product sponsorship but I saw the "Game Freak" at the beginning, gave me a lil hope.
Then Legends came out and I was happy as hell, not to mentioned when the "Z" came out. I WAS TRYING NOT TO SHOUT OUT 😭

Makes sense that they skipped gen 5 because both games already felt complete and the only way they could do gen 5 would be to do another sequel because a prequel would be kinda weird to do because we still wouldnt see the original dragon only how it split into the 3

Honestly, I was expecting just Legends: Unova. But I didn't expect Kalos. I'm happy there not doing an Gen. 5 remake ( at least I hope not ) and there going back to Kalos for an enhanced version that we didn't get.
