      That can definitely be a profitable niche but it is also quite competitive, so the key is to make regular releases and shorts makes that more feasible.

    Interesting approach to publishing. I always thought of ghostwriters as writing books for celebrities. In my case, I could not put my name on a book I did not write. But to those who can, go for it.

    • @JQRose
      @JQRose 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I forgot to thank you for the thoroughly explained way to figure out the competition in a category. Excellent explanation. I'm going to try that approach with a book for MG readers.

    • @KeithWheelerBooks
      @KeithWheelerBooks  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I agree completely. That’s why any book that I get ghostwritten goes under a pen name. Also, I’m very selective with the content I put out, whether it’s under my name or a pen name.
      This allows me to tap into niches I may not have time/knowledge to write, so I can focus writing/creating what I enjoy.

      No, no problem with it at all. I just don’t publish anything under my name that I didn’t personally write. It’s just a personal preference.

    Hey Kieth. I want to hire a ghostwriter to write my autobiography novel/memoir. I have a unique story that I know if marketed properly could be big. Do you know someone who specializes in this before i spend hours searching? Thanks!

    • @KeithWheelerBooks

      That sounds exciting. Unfortunately, I don’t know of any ghostwriters who work on autobiographies. That said, I do know someone who helps coach people on writing their own memoirs. Send me an email at kwheelerbooks@gmail.com and I’ll connect you.

    How would I find an interviewer/writer for audio book that charges by the hour?

    • @KeithWheelerBooks
      @KeithWheelerBooks  ปีที่แล้ว

      If you mean a narrator to do the audiobook, you can go to ACX(Amazon Creation Exchange) or Findaway Voices. Both sites have narrators that will audition to do your audiobook and they’ll each provide you with their hourly rate.

    hello thank you for your channel, i have had ideas now for over 20 years about books i would like to write. the only problem is. im not a writer, not even close. i dont even read books which makes it challenging, but nonetheless i have enough material in my brain to write 5 books if not more. i have writen everything down in my own words, so should i hire a ghostwriter to make my writing more interesting and compelling to the reader or just hire an editor or both for that matter. thanks

    • @KeithWheelerBooks
      @KeithWheelerBooks  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      First of all thank you so much for the kind words it means the world to me!! Next, to answer your question it really depends on how plot driven and detailed your story is currently. If you don’t think that there’s enough plot or tension or anything like that then you may want to reach out to a ghostwriter, you can use what you already have as a base and have them quote based off of that so just give them a section maybe a chapter of your book and have them give a quote based on that.
      If you think your story is detailed enough with enough of a plot that an editor can look at it, make suggestions and you can make the suggestions they make then that’s fine. But either way before you launch your book you definitely will want to hire an editor, so whether you go with the ghostwriter first and then an editor or an editor and then make the changes, that’s completely up to you.
      If you’d like suggestions for ghostwriters or editors just let me know. Best of luck!

    Thank you very much for practically showing us. I have a question. When you hire a client and click confirm for payment, does the payment goes straight away to him or he is able receive it only after the task is done? I mean what if he get the payment and don't do his job? Just new to the ghost hiring tasks..

    • @KeithWheelerBooks
      @KeithWheelerBooks  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      With Fiverr, when you submit your payment, it goes into a holding area called escrow, until you approve the product they provide. Once you approve, then the money is released to the seller.

    This sounds unethical and how is it not cheating? I know people in college who were too lazy to write their own term papers in college and hired someone else to do it. Same with writing a novel, paying someone to do the work is not the same as writing the book. It sounds like someone wanting to invent a cure for cancer, but not knowing anything about science but they'll hire a scientist to do all the work for them while they sell the product and take the credit.

    • @KeithWheelerBooks
      @KeithWheelerBooks  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Agreed it’s not the same as writing it yourself. That said, some people don’t want to be writers, they want to publish books. Instead of writing, they want to focus on the business side and delegate the writing portion.
      Just like a business CEO doesn’t do the daily work that keeps the business going, they still have their own part.
      Personally, I love writing. But if there is a niche I want to publish in, for my business, but I’m not knowledgeable in that niche, I’d rather hire someone who is more knowledgeable and skilled in that area to create the book so they’ll create a much better product for the customer than something I would come up with.
      That said, hiring a ghostwriter is definitely not for everyone, but I wanted to let people know that it is an option if it fits their business.

    I always wonder How it is possible to have such low price gig 50$ for writting a 2500 Words story ! That sound impossible for someone to have a decent life with such low rate.

    • @KeithWheelerBooks
      @KeithWheelerBooks  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not everyone working as a freelancer is doing it as their main job. Some are doing it as a side gig. Also, it depends on where they live. $50 goes a lot further in some countries than in others.

    • @nogginnogg1788
      @nogginnogg1788 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Some people will work for ridiculous prices out of necessity or, as Keith says, because of the low cost of living where they’re located. Unfortunately, that leads buyers to believe that is the going rate. So, people baulk when you quote more realistic prices. When that happens, just simply tell the client as politely as possible that you get what you pay for. Nobody should expect a 5 star job for a 1 star fee.

    • @KeithWheelerBooks
      @KeithWheelerBooks  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      One of the most important things I look at is country and native language. Looking at that will help you determine whether the price is reasonable or not. That said, understand that most of the inexpensive gigs will come from countries that may not speak your language as a first language. Therefore, the money you’re saving may cost you more on the editing side.

    Fiber is a terrible place to get ghostwriters 😜

    • @KeithWheelerBooks
      @KeithWheelerBooks  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'll be honest, there are questionable sellers on any platform. That said, I have found some exceptional ghostwriters on Fiverr. I've also found some on other platforms as well. It really just comes down to the author doing their due diligence and vetting the potential ghostwriter before hand.
      It's when people read a gig, it sounds nice so they just order the gig, that they open themselves up to a bad experience. This is why I ALWAYS recommend contacting the seller first. Ask questions, ask for samples they've written, etc. This goes for any potential freelancer you hire. Think of them as a potential employee. You wouldn't just hire someone off the street with interviewing them. The same should be true for a freelancer, whether for a ghostwriting gig or any other task needed in your business.
      I hope this helps!
