    • @Dan76Rock

      Yes, I totally understand that viewpoint as technically Lewis is untouchable, no doubt about it. Which is why I’m pretty sure he’s still the all time leader of lowest level of deceleration in the last 30m, he was always nowhere at the halfway point and then with 30m left with everyone else starting to enter the slowing down zone it created the unbelievable illusion that made it seem like Lewis was actually speeding up!? 🤯 I also loved him as even though I was only about 8 when I first saw him in the 84 Olympics, i was faster than most other kids and you could already tell I was going to be tall and not a big frame, so he was instantly an idol for me, as he wasn’t a powerhouse build like everyone else! Legend 👌
      That said Johnson being the truly dominant and unbeatable force in the 200m and 400m, only man at the top level to win both and held the records for 12yrs (200m) and 17yrs (400m) is mind blowing, especially as only Bolt and Blake have ever run faster at 200, and the current 400m WR holder’s best ever 200m time doesn’t even get him into to top 25 times!? MJ was another one of a kind I reckon. I feel lucky to have been around to watch them 🙏

    Track and Field GOAT BY FAR. He achieve the same as Bolt in 100 and 200 with world records plus he did something that Bolt couldn't, dominate in the field too by winning 4 Olympic Golds and World Championship Gold in Long Jump with world record

    • @asianfighter62
      @asianfighter62 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Eddie C Todays track is a lot faster then in the 1980’s and 90’s. Had Lewis had the ran on today’s track he would beat everyone in his prime. If Carl Lewis was the anchor for Coleman, Tyson and Gaitlen’s relay team they would shatter the Jamaican team with Bolt.

      You can argue Lewis, Bolt or Jesse Owens is the 🐐, my Goat is probably Bolt though but Lewis was insanely versatile

    • @eddiec5202
      @eddiec5202 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@TheAfricanNightDemon Lewis and Owens were superior athletes than Bolt. Both won in track (60, 100, 200, 4x100, 4x200) and Field (Long Jump) events. The greatest track and field athletes of all time are Owens and Lewis (No doubt). Plus Lewis have the 2nd longest winning streak in track & field history with 65 consecutive win in Long Jump competitions (4 Olympic Golds in Long Jump, 1 of only 3 athletes to win 4 consecutive or general golds in the same event. The other 2 are fellow Americans Al Oerter in discus throw and Michael Phelps in 200 IM). By the way the longest winning streak or undefeated streak in track & field history belongs to American Edwin Moses that won 122 consecutive races and 117 consecutive finals in 400 metres hurdles. All this makes Lewis arguably the most dominant, versatile and influential track & field athlete of all time followed closely by Jesse Owens. Bolt is #3 followed closely by Michael Johnson and Jackie Joyner Kersee. The rest of the Top 10 are Edwin Moses, Ashton Eaton (greatest decathlete of all time), Florence Griffith Joyner (100 and 200 WR holder), Pavo Nuurmi and Bubka

      His technique is wht propelled sprinting into t limelight of mega earnings nd unimaginable speed for mankind.
      He was t catalyst into this new realm!
      His form, technical genius nd disciplined action, has only been copied and enhanced not relegated...
      E.g., coming out of t blocks his head though held down came up too early; otherwise technically proficient.
      His stride nd knee action simply superb, as it maximizes thrust by driving t knee upward rather then forward; almost 90' degree angle to his torso locking in t trunk position high wth a slight forward lean of t shoulders, keeping head absolutely still, allowing t arms especially t elbows nd wrist to lock into one motion using both ends to be worked into a lever like action wth t knees and heel to underscore it's piston like drive, finding ratios within t frame of movement required...only to be timed by t breath... kept wth precision like mechanics of uniformity tht made history every time he crossed t line!
      Lewis to sprinting as Arnold to Body building, Bruce Lee to Martial Arts, Ali to Boxing, etc.
      Need I say more?!

      AC B I believe it's time you wake up. I love how people can't get a story right and then base everything on he said she said. 1st. No Carl failed his STIMULANT drug test, which is legal today, DURING the US Olympic TRIALS, He didn't fail the drug test during the Olympics when Ben failed his STEROID drug test. Let's see Carl's career was 17 years long and only at ONE period during all this time he failed 3 drug tests during the US Olympic Trials and all for stimulants that you find in cold medicine. Several Athletes at this time also had the same stimulant, pseudoephedrine.
      2nd Carl Lewis never got banned for failing drug tests. What did Ben do, oh yeah, he tested positive again, Johnson's level of testosterone, a male hormone which normally exists in the body at a ratio of 1:1 to its regulatory substance epitestosterone, was unnaturally high. A level of 6:1 is accepted as being artificially induced. Johnson's sample was 10.3 times the normal level.
      To all you hacks who look behind every rock to find a conspiracy. His career spanned from 1979 to 1996 and 4 Olympics could have been 5 but in 1980 we boycotted the Olympics held in Russia. Everything I have read is for testing positive three times for small amounts of banned stimulants found in cold medications at the 1988 Olympic TRIALS. NOT during the Olympics. He raced for 17 years and he had one period of failing due to a STIMULATE you find in cold medication. This has been out since 2003... What year is it now? They have had 16yrs to find anything else. But please don't let the facts get in your smear campaign. Carl didn't fail HIS DRUG test that Ben Johnson did plus as someone has already mentioned Ben Johnson was for STEROIDS during the game. Carl was before the games and it was a Stimulant.
      "It's black and white," IAAF spokesman Nick Davies said in a telephone interview. "No rules were broken. There was no foul play."
      The USOC "properly concluded" that each of the cases did not amount to doping under the rules in place at the time, the IAAF said, adding that those athletes who were tested, investigated and then competed later that year at the Seoul Games -- sprinters Lewis and Joe DeLoach among them -- were affirmatively eligible.

    • @craigwiggins253

      @@jamaalspeaks4380 According to the IAAF none. Read the last sentence. The USOC "properly concluded" no doping under the rules in place at the time IAAF said. There were 3 times and all 3 times were during ONE US Olympic TRIALS for a stimulate called pseudoephedrine which is found in cold medications. He wasn't the only athlete to fail for this drug during this Olympic Trials. There were several and they all appealed and they all won their appeals. Then the IAAF backed up the appeals. Enough said. For 17 years he passed every test after a race. Yea he was cheating. Please
