Fate/strange fake is written by the author of Baccano, Durarara, Dead Mount Death Play, Vamp etc.

Suzume was in almost every theatre with several screenings a day for at least two weeks here in Poland. :D
The Case Files of Lord El-Melloi II also had just a TV special, then afterwards announced a full TV series. I'm REALLY hoping that Strange Fake gets the same treatment. It's one of my favorite Fate installments and it'd be a shame for only the first volume to get adapted, which would mean we wouldn't even get to meet fan-favorite characters like Hansa. At the very least, I hope this give some hope that the light novels and manga will get finally get official English releases... (Though even Apocrypha hasn't gotten official English releases of the manga and novels, not to mention the original Fate/stay night VN).

Probably because the fate spinoff was written by rhyogo narita, well known for being able to write stories which many characters as focus points

Saw the name Nelvana and, although it rang a bell for me, I couldn’t quite put my finger on where I had seen it before. Then I finally remembered that I saw it pretty much every day in the 90s, while watching Tintin. Brought back memories.
Suzume is still playing in Los Angeles and the screenings are still 40 to 50% full. (according to the AMC Theatres seat maps)
I'll be honest, I didn't even notice Shinkai's new film had dropped where I lived until I saw it mentioned by another anituber. I feel like the advertising for this one was even less than Weathering with You.
That said, it might be my new favorite movie from this director, though I never saw Your Name in theaters, so that might be bit biased. Glad to hear its sold well too.

Nelvana's doing kids anime again?! They were the one's that dubbed Cardcaptor Sakura, so I'm definitely excited to see what they come up with^^
My imagined totally-plausible-scenario is that a bunch of anime nerds graduated and started work there in ~2000, partially to help out with the adaptations around that time. Since then they've been promoted away from what they love but after working together--and their way up the org-chart--for 23 years these friends' "mid-life-re-evaluation" showed them that they were finally in a position where they could JUST MAKE IT HAPPEN. So many ways to be good, so many ways to go wrong...
Polygon Pictures has a very long history of western partnerships and working on kids shows. They've partnered very frequently with Disney in the past. Working on Winnie the Pooh, Transformers, Tron and even Star Wars. In Fact they were involved with the production on The Clone Wars and they were the lead animation studio for SW: Resistance. And ofc most recently they made Pingu in the City. So partnering with a western company to make animation aimed at children is very much in Polygon's wheelhouse.
Anime fans may only have heard of them when Knights of Sidonia burst into the scene but they've been around for 40 years! In fact Kaina was made specifically in honor of the studio's 40th anniversary.😊
Suzume advertised hardcore on tiktok. The ad for it was almost the only ad I saw for a week straight.
Polygon Pictures also worked on animated shows based on western properties such as Tron and Star Wars.
Sure Fate/Strange Fake isn’t related but my gods does it love mention everyone who’s ever been in HGW even shirou, Amakusa, Kairi, Kiritsugu side chick, even Nasu’s prototype MC.
I'd argue at the very least that watching Zero is a requirement, since there's a lot of important references to that.

Zero's only relevance was Maiya and her relevance to SF is only mentioned in passing .

Interesting you mentioned the Lord El-Molloi Fate spinoff. I'm not a Fate fan but I enjoyed that quite a bit. What I remember most about it though is the ED; it haunts me.
I was wondering what was going on with the Suzume release as well. I live in the Bay Area, and I remember that when Weathering With You came out, we had it for at least a month, and I had the pick of theaters to see it at. For Suzume, I had to make sure to see it within the week and a half window that we had it here, oddly enough. Does that have something to do with Crunchyroll being the distributor maybe? Also, glad somebody else caught the Kare Kano song in there as well. I was laughing in the theater when it came up as one of the road trip songs. 🤣

Here in London, I haven't had any trouble finding Suzume at my local cinema or bigger cinemas. The only issue was finding the dub and at the right time, but I got to see it at my favourite cinema.
The current state of FUNimation-Crunchyroll theatre release mapping has consistently left me wanting - especially since the theatrical release for Sidonia no Kishi's finale film.

The news about Galaxy Next Door is not that bad to me for the reason that it otherwise would have easily caught up to the manga. I've had that concern with a couple of great shows this season. Heavenly Delusion and Oshi No Ko both have me concerned that they'll catch up and it might not end very well or there will be a lot of filler.
Don't know about Heavenly delusion but Oshi no ko has still content for two more seasons.

You said something about Suzume sniping a song from His and Her Circumstances? I looked it up and I unfortunately cannot find anything. If it is true then great! I loved the music from that show and any KareKano fan would tell you that the music was one of its strong points.
Interesting that you had issues seeing Suzume. I'm in Calgary and both Landmark and Cineplex had 1 dub and 3 sub showings for the weekend it was available (from the Thursday to Sunday).

Even w/my work schedule & lack of interest in theatres, I really wanted to catch a subbed Suzume showing. But they made it just inconvenient enough for me to just give up & wait for the Blu-ray release.

Suzume was great, but I think it'd have been better if they let him do his original plan without the love interest.
Galaxy Next Door anime has been great floof, do like it.
Polygon Studios, made Transformers anime/cartoon, that is a pg and a cg Star wars animated series, the pacific rim which I think at least a pg 13 show

@@nelisezpasce While yes, Ufotable's work with Fate is top tier, A-1 Pictures showed that it can handle the franchise with great animation, as seen in Apocrypha.
@@martinaguiluz4063 With all due respect, Apocrypha is one the ugliest thing I've seen, but nevermind that, the story of Strange Fake simply deserves much better than the studio that gave us Apo.
@@nelisezpasce Can I ask why? I really thought that series looked good. Yes, the character designs may be a little basic, but the animation is very fluid and colorful. My problems with Apocrypha are from a narrative/story perspective, but in terms of presentation, I think it did a great job.

A more fun title would have been "Fate comes in, Suzume's box"
I thoroughly enjoyed Suzume, though I find the romance plot to be rushed and awkward since, you know, the male protagonist was a "chair" most of the time. So, not sure what kind of message that's suppose to send. Otherwise, the animation is an improvement over usual Makoto Shinkai and don't forget those stunning screensaver backgrounds.
I would have watched it twice in cinema if I didn't have to pay extra to watch "anime" compared to regular films.

Wow I have not watch your channel for a long time 😭, last time I watched you have a Lab coat on 😅 now you have a tie and different hair style 😁, I assume you have a regular job now 😉 suzume, I love the main song 🎉 the first shinkai anime I saw was "voice of a distance Star"😅 I love the anime's style later I found out he did the whole thing on a Mac computer 😮 and the music is done by a friend for him, because he has no money for anything else 😢, I was a fan than and still is ❤ looking forward to seeing more of his anime I miss the showing here in the USA, because I didn't know about it 😭😞 and hopefully the blu-ray will be out soon 🙏 about Fate I watched stay of the night? on line and was lost at the beginning 😢 It seems to me it's based on a game or manga the anime goes right to the main theme, which was the battle between all the historical characters, but I didn't have any background information on the persons controlling those characters 😢, but I do like the characters design, will the best one I like is the king author, she is supposed to be the most powerful one 😅they did do a sex change on him turned him into a she 😱😅🙄🤫🤪🤓 so I was little surprised when he showed up as a she 😱🤔🤪😮
