The controller should be worth more its worth as gold. It's a f***ing LTT solid gold controller. Linus could auction it later in life and get way more money out of it.

@Jack Mihoff What risk is linus taking by keeping the gold controller? If its about the investment in gold, they can literally melt it down and keep the bar of gold in a safe and wait for its value to increase. If Yvonne wants an ROI, auction it off to rich collectors. Or get Microsoft to buy it and display it in their HQ or something. There's other options than melting down a work of art.... just don't game with that thing.
For sure, if you’re some kind of gaming celeb pulling $5-10million+ a year, or just anyone with real, big money who loves gaming, you’d buy this. $500k, or even a lot more, is nothing when you’re worth $50million and going up. Fuck it, could probably convince Musk to get it if the meme is there

Fuck it, could probably convince Musk to get it if the meme is there
Maybe auction it off to Child's Play Charity, and get Xbox to market it.
@@Unknown-sz8kg i wanna buy her, Ivonne is cute
Exactly what I was thinking. Make an auction and offer the profits to charity.
A rich collector would just make their own. Rich collectors spend ludicrous amount on money on simple stuff because those simple stuff are backed by a very famous artist or brand and has high value as an investment.
Considering the price of gold going up, I think Linus is actually ahead of the curve. Only game accessory that's actually a good finantial investment lol.

It's not dis"respect"ful....while I don't agree with Yvonne on the melting, (as its a piece of art and not just gold as a commodity) it's her right and responsibility as a Chief Financial Officer and his wife to accurately give her reaction/opinion on something.. Idk where you live to think that a wife or husband voicing valid concerns about something will be disrespect😬
Yvonne part was the the best part!!!!
Honestly if Yvonne wants the money back, I'm sure an auction would fetch far more than melting it.

well considering gold doesn't exactly depreciate, he could have it in a glass case on his desk like he wanted, and melt it down if they need the money at a later date, or sell it to some rich person for more than its value as a collectable. either way worse case its worth it literal weight in gold.
Brah, gold if depreciating like shit rn, I was stupid enough to invest in it
The value of gold does fluctuate, but it will be very unlikely to become less than half the price they spent on it.

Yes! This! I was seaching for this comment. You just could put it into a box and it will grow its worth. There's a reason, rich people buy gold.
