- Mike & Dev, in their pajamas, give their first-time reaction to Pink Floyd performing Echoes Live at Pompeii in 1972. This is part of a marathon session (available on Patreon) where we watch the entire 1974 film, including behind-the-scenes footage from The Dark Side of the Moon recording sessions.
Our reaction using the 2016 pitch-corrected stereo remix - • Echoes Live at Pompeii...
Our reaction with the music in 5.1 surround - • Echoes Live at Pompeii...
This is our first time seeing and listening to this performance. We are re-experiencing classic rock music, an album at a time, with fresh perspectives and active ears, so that Dev can learn and appreciate this music more, and so that Mike can relive his childhood.

hey there guys , i remember going to the local cinema as a young lad to see this film . Back then i thought it was awesome just as i do now in my sixties .
Hi there - when I saw the film here in germany in the mid 70s you were still allowed to smoke in the cinemas. You can imagine what we`re smoked and what the whole vestibule smelled like ;-)) What a cool time - thanks for sharing and best wishes @all from Hamburg (germany)
For me, the original mix of Echoes in pomeii is so much better than the 2016 remix
Overprocessing, pitch correction, why would anyone feel the need to apply that crap to vintage Floyd?
There isn't a "remix" of Floyd anywhere that surpasses the original.
Thank you!! It's the best
This Gdańsk performance, to me, is very special. The back and forth between two very special friends (Wright and Gilmour) is absolutely beautiful. It brings a tear to my eyes listening to it and thinking that they would never again perform this together.
It was perfection!
Nice reaction ……
What you are watching is pure perfection. I would say gods of music. Find anything better then Pink Floyd.
Thank you, thank you for doing the original release!! To me, it's FAR superior to the 2016 remix. The harmonies & sound mix (albeit not perfect) seem more genuine, raw & live than the supposedly 'perfected' remix! I'm glad my DVD copy has this version!!
Cheers!
The beautiful react
"I don't think I'm easy to talk about. I've got a very irregular head. And I'm not saying anything that you think I am, anyway." Syd Barrett born January 6th 1946. Died 2006 aged 60, the genius behind Pink Floyd
RIP Syd ❤
The concert in Pompeii was filmed in autumn of 1971, at the time of the "Meddle" album release. The difference is only between releases: the 1972 release includes only the concert, and the later 1974 release adds scenes from the "Dark Side..." recording sessions in 1973...
I love that you’re doing all three.
😊
So so much better.

I hope you react to Pigs (2018 remix), that one is insane 🔥
No, stick to the album version.
1977's Floyd doesn't need any help from 2018.
@@tommc3622 yeah. pigs live in montreal 1977 is the best
pitch correction? no wonder the other one didnt sound right,,,i knew something was off,,,,,way off,,,,,,,,,,,,
In real time the bass guitar is driving the song better than the lead guitarist
