After burn in pr2 sound much better. Decided to order the kz krila to see the difference in tuning. I dont have much experience with iem so i cant tell if pr2 is good or bad. To me its just brighter and airy than most people can tolerate. Im an old guy that is not trebble sensitive. Maybe thats why i can enjoy it.
Nah I'm 20 and I can enjoy greathfully the pr2 without the damper, way more than the d-fi (I have both). Some ppl just don't use it properly, with or without the damper it still way better than the d-fi and still the best low budget planar money can buy lol
I do not recomend PR2 with the standard silicon eartips (or any vocal eartips) because they make the tremble harsh. I use Softears UC Tips or Spinfit CP100. Besides, PR2 is very hard to drive.
I use Moondrop Spring tips with the PR2, it tames the treble quite a lot, KZ did magic to fuck this IEM in that way Edit: Moondrop spring tips didn't tame that treble, it was some kind of indirect impedance increase going on, changed the cable and source to something normal and it was a tizzler sounding IEM, :(
@@m2thay nah, they're not a shit copy, I tested both with stock foam tips and I actually found the V2 sound a bit better, as it has no muffle, while the v1 I found a bit muffled. The thing is, simply use the stock tips. You're complaining about the tune while you're not even using the stock tips used on the HBB measures. And for that price range, calling a planar "shit" seems more like an skill issue. Original foam tips and 1 or 2 db with EQ can make this IEM pair up with 200$ ones.
I Highly disagree with you. Pr2, with or without the damper is just a flat better IEM. Tho yea, if you use it as a normal "low impedance" IEM it will sound shit with white noise, use it allongside a good amp and it will be monumentally better than the d-fi...
@@CammyFigot it. But anyways it's kinda odd to say the original HBB tunning would be "fine" when you're not even using the stock foam tips used on the hbb measure. I have both d-fi and pr2, you can solve lots of your complaints just by using... the stock tips! Lol. They'll reduce the high frequencies peak and make the soundstage lots better than using the kz optional silicon tips. Don't know if you used a proper amplification to pr2 tho, without amp I can agree with you about the lack of detail, soundstage, extension and etc. But if it's properly amplified (i use a 350mW 20$ amp) the sound is simply unmatched for that price range. There's no comparison between d-fi and pr2 on technicalities, tho d-fi might have a better tunning for some ears.
I tried them with all tips, including stock foams. They were measured with foams, HBB himself addressed the change that KZ made to the iem without his permission. For an amp I used them with a iDSD Nano BL also a Zen Dac on its own and a Zen Dac with the Zen Can Signature. Also tried it with an LG V30, and an Apple Dongle and Samsung Dongle, Apple dongle off iPad Air 5 and Samsung Dongle off Samsung S21 Plus with UAPP
@@CammyFi nah, pr2 isn't poorly tunned at all. It seems just as a snow flake ear issue or who knows the type of music Im used to listen just don't fuck with the highs. Ngl I really hated pr2 without foam tips, the treble is just out of range. But not with the foam ones. I've heard some rumors kz made some changes after v2 complaints about the treble and now is selling a v3, tho don't know exactly the changes made. Anyways, this can be the case since I got mine really recently
I have both pairs and the new version is utterly unlistenable. What the hell were they thinking. Genuinely, complete trash. The balance is nonexistant, theyre beyond shouty, mids might as well be recreated on a slide whistle. Complete F tier. The original version however, was perfect. For $45, literally perfect. For under $100, i couldnt think of a better all-rounder pair of iems. It cant even have been a cost cutting measure, KZ started selling them for $35 before the problem even blew up in their face. Shit, even if that foam was magical and expensive and they had to increase the price by $10, they would have been a killer deal. But alas. They're trash, and this is yet another hit to KZ's reputation. I ordered some tuning foam to shove down the nozzles to hopefully salvage these disasters, because right now my second pair only exists as a warning of what not to do.
I have the so called retuned version of pr2 😂😂😂 but not only these need a lot of power but also a balanced cable as well as you need to burn them around 200 hours to get actual value out of them.I burn them around 210 hours still think had to burn them a little bit more.Tonality wise these are not that good, vocal come across lean and also "ssssss"sound is also there . Technicality wise it is very very great at this price point and soundstage is also super.still think that kz should not do this type of scam people buy your iem for good tonality but what they get fucked up tonality and crazy detailed iem.
Got the non mesh version and they sounds for me. I guess that’s just subjective listening. I also have the pr1 pros 😂 I’ll go back into my cave and use my variations 😝
You probably got the version of the PR2without the tuning mesh. The first models had a piece of mesh on the driver. Really is an awesome set with, and a terrible set without it.
@@CammyFi Sorry; that's quite the bummer. If you were local to SoCal I'd totally send you my PR2 to graph. IDT anyone has a graph of both on the same rig yet on squiglink.
You hit the nail on the head, the PR2 was change for change sake. Will the D-FI need more power than a smart phone can provide?
D-Fi works on most sources perfectly fine
Good. There is this KZ Krila that is released 3 days ago. A reviewer said it is even better than the Di-Fi.

Awesome as always!
Fully agree Have both. Don’t get the tuning switches. Totally inferior to the switch equipped version.

I literally saw the title as DO NOT BUY THE KZ PR2 AT 3AM 😂
I'd also recommend not buying them at 4 am too

The treble is harsh with any tip, I tried them with xelastecs, divinus velets, shuoer foams, clarions and a few others I forgot
@@CammyFi i see. I am a little suspect to recommend it because my ears are not so sensible to intense tremble.
