I knew there was rain in the forecast but I needed a little getaway. What better place than Chiang Mai. It sure seemed wetter there than the Pattaya area. Overcast, raining and not the best conditions. It is what you make of it though. We will discuss traveling Thailand during the low / rainy season.

For me personally, Chiang Mai was good, but it didn't live up to the hype. I'm glad I went, but it's not somewhere that I plan on returning to.

Great food culture there.
You rarely see Northern food outside of the area nationwide, cow soi specialist shops excepted and there’s a reason for that......but if one is looking to live long term in Thailand, IMO, you can't beat the city, the region and it's people, just bring a packed lunch...........!!

WOW! The footage and drone shots might be the best that I have seen from you yet. Either you are getting better or Chiang Mai is looking fantastic? 😂. If you get the chance on the way up to Doi Inthanon, they boast the largest waterfall in Thailand. Nice clear video! Ride on!

Just wanted to let you know in case you wanted to ask them why. Probably would only get some bullshit answer, but you do put a lot of effort into your videos just to have them dismiss your followers. Hello Greeny. Been to Thailand 3 times so far, but only from January to April, and stayed in Bangkok, Pattaya, and Phuket. This trip is for the entire month of August so I will get some rain. I don't plan on going to CM, as I will base myself out of Pattaya or Bangkok and bounce around like you do from there. May reach out for some pointers on where to go.

I stayed in Chang mai for seven days I believe it was in October for seven days. It rained so hard that all I could do was grab an umbrella and go to a restaurant to eat and go back to the hotel so no the trip wasn’t worth it.

At least the Rainy Season in Chiang Mai isn’t the Burn Season. You can probably breathe better with the moisture in the air.

At least it is not so hot. Years ago Chiang Mai was the place to live. It is a break from pattaya and bangkok. I just read about howie mandel. That should be a nice police investigation. America. Keep up the happy wanderlust while it is enjoyable and thanks for the video. At first when I came to se asia I often ate satay and street food. I am not sure that they are good for your health, but they are cheap and tasty. You appear like you lost weight. Congrats!

@@GreenyTravels I’ve been to Thailand several times over the years, but never in rainy season. I remember enjoying some good scotch with a couple friends on a Bangkok balcony while watching the rain cool things down. Thanks for providing great videos. They help with my questions as I inch closer to retirement.
Beware of the fried chicken stalls in Thailand. I once got some where I was burping up oil for a day.

It's a matter of smoke season, not high / low season, is what I understand from lots of youtube viewing.
