I love how the last time he says "I had a convicted stalker, stalking me" he puts the emphasis on the "me". His tone suggests he's surprised and maybe a litttle flattered that someone thinks he's important. This show is a fascinating exploration of how sometimes we work against our best interests just to feel loved.
I had a full on meltdown after watching it. Martha reminds me of my own narccisistic sister - who has ruined more than 1 life. The actress did a great job at portraying psychotic behaviour.
This is such a tough watch but it's so good and worth it! And yes his decisions are questionable but he explains his thought process along the way and admits multiple times that he shouldn't have done certain things etc. It very much explores the complexity of these kinds of situations and why humans make certain decisions.

I'm suprised by this reaction honestly because that to me is obvious in the first episode. And not just lonely - theyre bored. That combination can quite literally kill you. i feel really really bad for donny/richard gadd. he really went through a lot and i think he's really brave for making his real events into a series like this
One thing I liked about this is that considering he's the actual person this happened to (the real woman denies it but there's plenty of things that seem to point towards her really being a stalker and pathological liar, even having stalked others in the past), he didn't make himself look like a completely innocent victim who did nothing to encourage her behavior or to make her seem like she literally became obsessed with him out of nowhere. The show very much let's us know he did to some degree like the attention and fed into it for awhile (the possible reasons for why are explored more in later episodes) until he realized how bad it was becoming and just how unbalanced she was. Since he created this show and it's about something he went through, it would have been easy for him to just portray this situation as having been 100% one sided the whole time and not expose some of the very traumatic and intimate things he went through before meeting her (no spoilers), but he didn't which makes the show a lot better and makes me think it's probably mostly true to reality. I binged watched it. This reaction and reading peoples comments made me realise how f'd up I must be cause I can really understand Donny and most of his choices through the series.

I don’t want to spoil anything but hearing how blind you’re going into this, I feel like you guys should look up the trigger warnings. So much worse than stalking happens and because the story is told so honestly, it’s difficult to watch. I’m not usually affected by shows or movies and this really got to me. This series helped me somewhat understand why some people cant or dont get rid of their stalkers. I had a friend who was in a similar situation. He had a stalker who was boldly approaching and openly interacting with him and we told him to just say outright that he finds her creepy and to just leave and disappear from his life because he kept being either nice to her or just ignoring her so it may have been sending a message that what she's doing is alright. we didn't know there may have been underlying complex feelings involved, and it's not as simple as telling someone you find annoying and clingy that they have zero chances with you and you dont want them around that'll make them go away and peace will be restored.
Yeah, you have to push through to the end. I almost stopped watching after the second or third episodes, but as messed up as it continued to get, it was still better to get to the resolution
In the beginning I questioned him a lot as well, but then you get it, at some point I was annoyed but when he understands his actions we understand and its so sad 😢
"starts weird and gets fucked" & "I don't know how I'm going to watch this" are both very accurate predictions. It's so well made, the writing is incredible, excellent acting, but it's TOUGHHHHHHHH
Poor Rob fighting for his life with this one.😂 Worth keeping with it IMO. It's one of the most realistic depictions of trauma and self sabotaging I've seen.
Sometimes, when you're hurt deep enough, your mind gets messed up. And things that might seem like common sense to most people (like don't entertain the stalker that is obviously starting to fixate on you) become complicated in your mind. I'm not justifying his bad decision making-- neither does he--, but people are complex and your history has an impact on your future until you decide to do something about it.. and even then it can still be really hard to break away. I think shows like these are important because it helps us open our minds a little bit I think to people that might not make the best objective decisions, and makes us ask ourselves if that in and of itself is enough for them to be undeserving of our compassion and understanding. Are those things only exclusive to people who make the right choice all the time? And if so, then who is deserving? Are we? Thank you for reacting to this show. I really hope you don't stop. I think it will be worth it for you at the end.
Look, I get it, it is tough, it's one of the hardest watches I've seen but it is worth watching the entire thing. It's a great exploration of the complexity of abuse and human behavior like it's not all black and white, people might react a certain way that one might not understand depending on their mental state, sometimes it lacks common sense and this show is a perfect example of how is just not that simple
When I first watched this I had to pause episodes 4 & 8 to UGLY cry & hyperventilate. It's the hardest thing I've ever watched and I've seen Requiem for a Dream like six times lol. I did think I'd never watch it again but it's so well done and really worthy of all the hype it got. Incredible look at victims and how they aren't just these pure innocent angels and in fact their trauma tends to make them make many mistakes. As hard as it is to watch at times I think it should be required viewing. I plan on watching it again - I'm just not ready.

A friend of mine begged me to watch it because it had a big impact on him, so I wanted to be able to discuss it with him. And I had to take a week long break after episode two. And a two week break after episode 4. Then, after 5, I just didn’t finish the show ✌🏻
In real life she wasn't a convicted stalker. The story they used about her previous stalking was real but she only had a restraining order put on her. No conviction or jail time. The laws in Scotland make it hard to convict. I think that's (one reason) why in real life he continued the relationship with her and accepted the fb friend request.
I watched this with my friend and all the second hand cringe made it so hard to get through. I forgot just how hard it was... until now. I'll try to relive it haha

It's going to get so much worse. But I recommend that you finish it. I almost stopped watching after 2 or 3 episodes, too, because it was too much. But I pushed through because one of my friends wanted to discuss the ending with me, and I'm glad I did. It's better to make it to the resolution at the end. But also, I would have a nice long line up of happy and uplifting movies to react to (or just watch on your own) as soon as you're finished. It took me a few solid weeks of sitcoms and rom-coms to get out of the funk this show left me in
Thanks, Rob! Thanks, Bryce! 🦌 I love this one and recommended it when I first saw it. I hope you'll love it. As Bryce noted, it's based on the writer/star's actual past.
Been waiting for this reaction since I heard it was being released on y’all’s Patreon! So excited and lowkey nervous for y’all. A very dark but good show indeed.
Guys please trust the process with this one. It’s a tough watch but see it through. It’s gets really interesting and everything makes more sense at the end.
We're supposed to question his decision making, however please watch on; you'll see why he's such a flawed character & why he feels the need to entertain such questionable behaviour. But buckle up, it's going to be painful & tragic. I think you should react to an episode a day... or at least thrice a week.🙂
Did anyone else get constantly angry watching this show? I almost didn't finish watching it because I was so frustrated with everything the guy did, actually what he wouldn't do. I didn't know the actual actor is the victim though so that changes a lot, this is his way of maybe explaining how or why this went on so long.
I never got angry. As soon as he accepted her friend request I knew something horrible happened to him. I can see why it would be frustrating to watch - I mostly just felt heartbroken for him.
I avoided watching this until I saw that you guys were watching it. I just watched the first episode and I do like it so far. I'm a very suspicious person. I literally trust no one on the planet so watching baby reindeer is great reminder of that. Be careful who you talk to people. I feel your pain Rob being a sensitive Sagittarius myself. I miss Zuff.
I am glad you started watching this, but I hope you would see till the end, despite the cringing and second hand embarrassment. It is just you feeling empathy for the protagonist. I am astonished about how strongly this show made me feel certain things and I understand a lot more about people, and it only makes complete sense if you finish it. I was grateful for watching this show. A lesson in human interaction, psychology, trauma and it shall stay with me forever. The fact that this happened in real life and how honest Richard Gadd is makes it even more remarkable.
It is a though watch but I swear it is really worth it. What I loved about this show is how everything is very nuanced and the creator of the show (and the guy playing his role) was very honest by showing how he also fucked up by letting her in so easily. His behavior shows the self destruction of people victims of abuse and it is critical we have more honest representation about that. The show is very hard to watch, brutal and big TW about sexual and psychological abuse but in the end, it is such a beautiful show with the message it gives out. You should really watch all the episodes to understand.
I rarely binge shows now but I hard core binged this series. Strap in guys, approach with caution. Its very well done but definitely tough to stomach. Side bar - Zuff get well soon xo
I know it’s based on a true story for this comedian but man him having to relive that is crazy and I hear the actress who plays said stalker needed therapy after his too which I don’t blame her for

Watching Rob's reaction makes me wanna be friends with her. He is such a good guy, he would be great company :)
I couldn’t bring myself to watch this show after everyone said how f’ed up it is but I’ll give it a go with you guys.
I watched this with my friend and all the second hand cringe made it so hard to get through. I forgot just how hard it was... until now. I'll try to relive it haha
Yay I’m excited they are watching this show
'I don't know how I'm gonna make it' 😆
He’s intrigued bc he wonders what she sees in him so he follows her to see if she made up half of what she told him and evidently yes, she’s a compulsive liar as well which adds a cherry on top of
See now, watching this show was thrilling and terrifying....but re-watching it with y'all...Now thats an adventure!!!!! Can't wait to join y'all in the rest! :)
It took me a few solid weeks of sitcoms and rom-coms to get out of the funk this show left me in
I know they'll have steep competition but I hope Richard Gadd and Jessica Gunning get Emmys for this.
React to "Wonder" 2017 please 🙏🏼
I was Rob the 2 episodes i could push through 😂
We're supposed to question his decision making, however please watch on; you'll see why he's such a flawed character & why he feels the need to entertain such questionable behaviour. But buckle up, it's going to be painful & tragic. I think you should react to an episode a day... or at least thrice a week.🙂
martha steals the show her expressions are amazing
This is making me super uncomfortable as someone who’s dealt with a family narc that’s stalked as well. This is goosebumps down my back type thing
OMG your faces was exactly like mine was watching
Rob's reactions 🤣 literally me watching this show
Omg Bryce shaved😅
I avoided watching this until I saw that you guys were watching it. I just watched the first episode and I do like it so far. I'm a very suspicious person. I literally trust no one on the planet so watching baby reindeer is great reminder of that. Be careful who you talk to people. I feel your pain Rob being a sensitive Sagittarius myself. I miss Zuff.
I honestly had to mentally prepare myself before finally watching this
13:02 yeah
After you watch it, check out the real story behind the main actor
I am glad you started watching this, but I hope you would see till the end, despite the cringing and second hand embarrassment. It is just you feeling empathy for the protagonist. I am astonished about how strongly this show made me feel certain things and I understand a lot more about people, and it only makes complete sense if you finish it. I was grateful for watching this show. A lesson in human interaction, psychology, trauma and it shall stay with me forever. The fact that this happened in real life and how honest Richard Gadd is makes it even more remarkable.
jst binged it and finished it last night. Robs expressions are killing me lmao
Holy shit was not expecting this, this might the heaviest shit ya!l have reacted to
I rarely binge shows now but I hard core binged this series. Strap in guys, approach with caution. Its very well done but definitely tough to stomach. Side bar - Zuff get well soon xo
It gets more interesting when you learn what happened to him before this.
The main actor is the real life person that all of this happened to.
You guys are in for a riiiide !
if you listen to the last “I have a convicted stalker stalking…ME” its almost like he sounds flattered & important
this show was so good but very uncozy vibes, so im excited to the reactions!!
I know it’s based on a true story for this comedian but man him having to relive that is crazy and I hear the actress who plays said stalker needed therapy after his too which I don’t blame her for
Martha’s actually so funny in this ep 😂😂😂
S nt from iPhone
yeayyyyyy i have been waiting for this!!
