    I have never had a dishwasher in my adult life. So over 22+ years have I been hand washing. My parents had on but we still had a lot of hand washing items. I'm with you that it does not bother me to hand wash dishes. As long as you stay on top of them each meal it not really a problem problem. And also that way you also know all the food and yuck is of the dishes.

    Here in Oregon, we are busy having March. The other day started out sunny, then it clouded over and hailed, went back to sun, and ended up pouring down rain! It has been such a cold, rainy spring this year. The good part of that is that the flowers are lasting much longer. Some day we'll advance to April (maybe by June), and then we'll have warm weather!

    We vacuum our floors, even the tile ones. I have a canister vacuum with a wand and it works best for us. We have a dishwasher but at times I wonder if it would be better just to wash, dry and put them away immediately. Then the job is done. When we use the dishwasher, we have to face unloading it right away in the morning. We end up drying a lot of the stuff from the dishwasher anyway because it doesn’t dry well. I remember your comment about cleaning for Easter. I have four sons and my oldest is 41 and the youngest is 24. When my two older boys were younger, I completely cleaned my house each holiday from top to bottom. Washed walls, windows, curtains, floors, you name it, it was cleaned. I was thinking about how much I used to do. Now I am lucky to just get the floors vacuumed and washed.

      @@acountrylife that’s the other thing. The new dishwashers do not dry the dishes because they are so energy efficient! We have to do that as we remove them. And the water that is left is kind of cloudy at times so when it spills over on the other dishes, they have to be rinsed and dried.

    You can add a damp cloth or towel to your dryer with your item to create steam. That really helps eith the wrinkles. I recently purchased a steam queen dryer that has a steam refresh choice. I can't tell you how much I love it!

    • @acountrylife
      @acountrylife  ปีที่แล้ว

      Where does the steam come from? Do you have to add water somewhere?

    • @madelinechriston8970
      @madelinechriston8970 ปีที่แล้ว

      @acountrylife no. I don't need to do anything. When the dryer is installed, there is a smaller second hose that is attached to a coupler that is connected to the same hose that lets water into your washing machine. That second hose gets attached to the back of the dryer, so when you press the steam refresh button, the dryer will create the steam. The Speed Queen can also steam sanitize as well.

      I have always had a dishwasher, it was convenient and easy when we had our children in the house. Now we are empty nesters, so I don’t use it as often, once a week after our family dinners on Sundays. I love having it for my spring cleaning, I put all my crystal and fine China in there when I clean my two cabinets, it’s much easier than hand washing it all. I remember a good friend of mine doing so years ago, I said I would be afraid that my crystal would break, she told me it wouldn’t, she was right, it’s a big timesaver, I’ve never had anything break.
