I need to see the finished product and more importantly see how you repaired that giant moth/bullet hole.😭
That's the easy part, don't worry about it if you know ya know
@@pineapplesideways3820 as a professional hat maker myself this comment made me laugh
Needle-felt wool roving on/around the hole in the same color as the hat until smooth and level.
just a wear spot, happens on all hats eventually
he dosent fix the hole. the client wanted to keep it
I’m a professional hat maker myself and have corresponded with this guy. He’s truly one of the few in this industry out there carrying the torch from generations before him doing things the way they have done them for generations and is passionate about what he does.
With 3yrs experience
Are you around the Kansas city mo area?
I’m just getting into making and restoring hats! I’ve looked many places for a hat stretcher/stand and I was hoping maybe you could point me in the right direction! It’s an absolute passion and I wanna do things the right way!
The hole in the hat 😮 maybe was a wild cowboy
I like the way u think
I like the way you think
I like the way you think
The hat owner died after a headshot
@@abouttime2569 exactly 😱 I wouldn’t wear that hat lol
Somebody was pew in the head
God bless you, man. It’s awesome to see a craftsman and his work.
Where is the full video? This was interesting but cut off way too early.
I’m a saddle maker..... big respect for what you do... we are both the keepers of a dying art,🙏🏻❤️
I need a head liner, my old one is falling apart but I’ve been hopeless trying to find where I can get it replaced, any suggestions. And, no I am not sending it back to JUSTIN HATS.
"for about 3+ years" ?! 😂
Hats off to you kind sir!
Very helpful video ! Thanks
I want to believe that the owner is still with us and not 6 feet under 😳
Edit : 70yr old hat , bullet hole or not guessing original owner definitely not with us 🙄
That looks just like my Resistol Stagecoach. Same hatband.
Yup had on in the early 80s it not a 70 year old hat.
Great job man!! Cool video!!
What a cool job!!
he needs to show us the completed product... this lead to no where
Ok but how did you repair the hole?
He put a sausage in it to fix the hole
This is a short version of a longer one. He did not repair the hole, as it is part of the history and lore of the hat. Per the families wishes.
You dont
@@Kdschaak that's what I was thinking If it was up to me I wouldn't repair the hole either; it's part of history
I’m just getting into hat restoration, I then burn (with a tool and make pretty art) on them. I’ve been looking for a stretching stand and was hoping you can point me in the right direction?! Thank you so much! ❤️
I have a 50 year old Stetson that needs your help...where can i find your shop?.
Bro what was Arthur doing 😭
70+ years. that guy who own the hat might knew jack martson
Buster Scruggs’s hat with that hole right there!
that must've belonged to Buster Scruggs 😂
Snip any of the tons of loose threads i dislodge from brushing so much, 3 years is just moving on from apprentice in any trade
Looks like a movie prop.

I like it with the hole
Yo that hole in the middle is frickin' freaky 😬😬😬 Did they ask you to cover it up?

For my cowboy hats
Wanted to see how repaired the hole.
Interesting! Sadly there was music while you talked. That makes it hard to hear for some people.
Awesome video thank you. Also wondering how to re-dye or color a beaver felt hat. I have one that is can cream color and I want you to darken it to dark brown.
Turn to Jesus before it’s to
Late you never know hen it’s your last breath
According to the hat band that's resistol hat from the 70s not a 70 year old hat
Looks like one of John Wayne’s hats
If it's a well made hat you can actually sand stains off of a good cowboy hat
EXCELLENT 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
That Is Cool!!! 👍
Yo he got that Buster Scrugg hat
I have a hat I would love to get redone
How'd you get the brains out?

How did you repair that hole in the hat? That seems unrepairable ?
Sorting hat looks
What about that hole on the top?! 😂🤣😂
This hat was found in “train station”!
Did the hat have any bloodstains?
Instrumental in the background ???

I’m an elder but I’m young
Is it just me or is the camera having trouble focusing? 😵
Bro what kind of British Louisiana accent is that…
I have Dad hats with more wear and tear than that “70 year old hat”.
Professionally made hats last longer than modern ones
Can I send you a hat to be restored
❤Where's your location
Wait what about the hole?
Little long on the age that was my 1st real hat its closer to 40.
Alcohol does not clean dirt.
It sanitizes
Does he do felt hats only or does he do straw hats as well
Looks like someone died by gunshot wearing that hat???
Looks like whoever was wearing that hat had a very bad day...😂
Looks Like A Clean hat ,
Inside and 0 ut ,
N 0 bio. , equals A good day ,
For the prior 0wner .
No result, no like.
WTH? Abrupt ending!
What about the hole
Did a man die in that hat?
Why bother?
another one that doesn't understands the shorts format
Fr
It's so obnoxious
3+ yrs is a wealth of experience now? Dude has probably spent more time playing Madden NFL than hat making
I get that your fixing it but it's still a hard sight to sees you cutting those threads and taking it apart
What would you do about that hole? Would you leave it there and nothing can be done? Some sort of patch or something to hide it? If someone truly wants that hidden what would you suggest and please don’t say and me what..
