RIP Chuck...
RIP
Rip
The godfather of death metal and the nicest MFer as well as the best metal guitarist of all time
Badass and a genuis 😎
RIP
As a teenaged metalhead lisetning to this band on cassette on my bus from school in the 90's, if someone told be I'd have a house, wife, kids and be watching a video of a beautiful pop singer positively reacting to the band Death 30 years later, I would think you were crazy!
Yes we are... for sure.
It slowly becomes a mainstream thing, a niche but legal/exciting for ... pretty normal people, not only "punks and geeks" ;)
@@tomaszkaminski6495 Have you ever gone to a metal show?
It's full of geeks and long haired dudes wearing a battle vest !
For most of metal listeners, music influences their whole life to some degree, it's very rarely "casual" per se.
@@generaldegaulle211 What I meant was that metal music, the real and heavy kind, is breaking through in places to the mainstream where it no longer evokes only outrage and horror, but sometimes even fascination and a "whoa effect." Metal as music and culture is becoming a serious subject, for example, a play depicting the story of Norwegian blackmetallers is now being performed in Poland.
Of course, I know what it's like at a metal concert, in 2 weeks I'm going to Imperial Triumphant, I also want to definitely go to Godflesh sometime :)
As a 25 y/o lonely metalhead if someone told me I wouldn't have a house, wife and kids when I was a teen they'd be completely correct. I don't even have a girflriend but hey I love metal so we can relate there.
your husband has pretty damn good taste🤘
Gene Hoglan destroying the drums with combat boots and Schuldiner going wild = father of death metal.
There is no "LIFE" without "DEATH"... Chuck forever!! 🤘🖤🤘
Also, life is good... Death is better.
@@linkdorf376 Only death is real
Death created Life to feed herself
Death is like bethoven of death metal, the best death metal ever.
Niccolo Paganini lol
@@blackbeansmatter1280I bet back in the day Chuck and Niccolo would have hung out and drank a brew!
What you heard is a pure musical genius, mastership and creativity.
Trailblazer Chuck wasn’t copying a blueprint laid out before him, he created the damn blueprint RIP Chuck Schuldiner
The Flesh and the Power it holds!! Their most complex stuff in my opinion!
My favorite Death song
The sound of perseverance is as a whole complex but still sounds godly to me
Your husband has excellent taste in everything. The lucky bastard. 😂
"The Philosopher" quality sounded great. Could really hear that funky bass.
its a fretless
@@jamesblair2000 no shit smart guy.
@@jamesmyrick9083 Thank you for the acknowledgement but I do sometimes shit especially sometime after eating and digesting my food. I appreciate the feedback.
its the worst mix of the song
God Steve's bass in The Philosopher so freakin sick! Never gets old. Perfect discography ❤
The Philosopher probably has one of the coolest outros of any song/album ever recorded.
Nothing is everything>>>>>
@@Tarik_Molotovyes🙏🙏🙏
Sadly, cut out in the album version
I feel the ONLY people who ever claimed not to like Death, just couldn’t get past chuck’s vocal delivery, and didn’t give it enough time to appreciate the musical arrangements. Their freakin loss, man
For me the music rocks, but the issue with the singing remains. It's one size fits all. I think Beavis and Butthead's bit on The Philosopher might have been a subtle dig at this. My biggest gripe with death is the on-the-nose preachy lyrics all vocalised in the same tone. Sometimes the words are shoehorned in at the expense of rhythm just so he can get some point across that I don't care about. Just like Dave Mustaine he should have hired someone to do this job, what he does on guitar is more than enough.
It's definitely an acquired taste.
I'd be lying if I said I liked the vocals, but over time they stopped making it hard for me to enjoy the band.
The drumming of Gene Hoglan is insane.
indeed. He kills it on 1000 eyes
It's amazing how Chuck can take us through a story. Intro riffs, words, ideas, concepts, values and morals, guitar leads and then it ends astonishing.
Chuck was a master musician
In metal circles Chuck Shuldiner has legendary status, almost godlike I would say.
the lyrics on symbolic are so beautiful. the theme of innocence lost immediately takes me back to being 12 years old and hearing symbolic for the first time. always makes me cry. great video.
fr, it's my fav death album
@@kokobi7482 Leprosy 1st then Symbolic for me
It'll be more of a watch to put the lyrics on vid. Just saying
For whatever reason you showed up in my recommendations. If you are a pop singer and had the patience to listen to that, you have my deep respects.
I don't know if patience is the right world. Maybe she's just open-minded person and also quite intelligent.
@@666Dejmien666 maybe you're right, but that's my opinion. She doesn't particularly seem to enjoy the music but that's not too say that she doesn't appreciate the musicianship.
Same 🤘🤘
The bass by Steve DiGiorgio and Chuck and Andy LaRocque on guitars on Philosopher are fantastic
Andy La Rocque's solos were completely improvised.
He doesn't play the solo here
Andy didn't do any of the rhythm parts for this album, he only came in for his leads
Individual Thoughts Patterns that whole album is a masterpiece.
I find it to be one of Death's weakest. The fact that it is this amazing really puts into perspective how crazy good is Death's discography!
This band is the band that pretty much defined the Death genre. Chuck was an amazing artist. He is missed by so many. RIP Chuck. Good job keeping an open mind of different types of music. Also, check out the band Death to All. They are a "continuation" of the band, and includes 2 of the former members of the band (Drummer and Bass player). The new singer is pretty much spot on with the sound.
i saw DTA last week in Mesa. tight! and so fun, since i never had the chance to see Chuck live, this was a damn good show. Gene Hoglan killed it..
To be precise there are 3 former members. the Guitarist Bobby Koelbe is the one that played in Symbolic
They fucking killed it live! I saw them at the observatory in santa ana. The bands that opened for them did great especially suffication!
@@TheLuketron suffocation was ON POINT. those guys killed it!
¨pretty much defined the Death genre¨ please stop saying this, its just not true.
I like how you don't stop and interrupt the music like others do.
Chuck was very good at incorporating the sound of desperation or the sound of pain, suffering and life's struggles in his music.
Chuck was a straight up musical genius man. Death represents metal perfectly
the bass on The Philosopher is just something else
Don't let Schudiner's legacy die!
Greetings from Brazil ✌️😃
The fact that this stuff is gaining popularity and getting its rightful respect speaks volumes to how brilliant it truly is! RIP Chuck and thank you for your masterpieces!
Im so sad I never got to see them when I was a kid. They will always be legends to me.
You Should definitely see Death To All!
The Philosopher :
Do you feel what I feel, see what I see, hear what I hear
There is a line you must draw between your dream world and reality
Do you live my life or share the breath I breathe
Lies feed your judgement of others
Behold how the blind lead each other
The philosopher
You know so much about nothing at all
[Lead: Chuck]
Ideas that fall under shadows of theories that stand tall
Thoughts that grow narrow upon being verbally released
Your mind is not your own,
what sounds more mentally stimulating is how you make your choice
So you preach about how I'm supposed to be, yet you don't you know your own
sexuality
Lies feed your judgement of others
Behold how the blind lead each other
The philosopher
You know so much about nothing at all
..
Misanthrope:
From above and around, observations are collected
Knowledge is taken in by curious life forms
That may bring hope from beyond
Beneath the giver of life, our sun
An examination of another kind is done
A view from those who stood high
And breathed the sky
An opinion from below and from above
Some were decided, some were not
A few looked away, but none forgot
Misanthrope
Hater of all mankind
There is some hope
For those who own their mind
They came, they saw and acknowledged
Some good, some bad
Opinion: Dangerous
Stay where you are, don't get consumed
By what they created from sheer neglect
In denial of years and years of shattered souls
That were lost to the power of
Fragile, frightful minds
A view from those who stood high
And breathed the sky
An opinion from below and from above
Some were decided, some were not
A few looked away, but none forgot
Misanthrope
Hater of all mankind
There is some hope
For those who own their mind
They came, they saw and acknowledged
Some good, some bad
Opinion: Dangerous
..
Symbolic:
I don't mean to dwell
But I can't help myself
When I feel the vibe
And taste a memory
Of a time in life
When years seemed to stand still
I close my eyes
And sink within myself
Relive the gift of precious memories
In need of a fix called innocence
When did it begin?
The change to come was undetectable
The open wounds expose the importance of
Our innocence
A high that can never be bought or sold
Symbolic acts - so vivid
Yet at the same time
Were invisible
Savor what you feel and what you see
Things that may not seem important now
But may be tomorrow
Do you remember when
Things seemed so eternal?
Heroes were so real...
Their magic frozen in time
The only way to learn
Is be aware and hold on tight
I close my eyes
And sink within myself
Relive the gift of precious memories
In need of a fix called innocence
When did it begin?
The change to come was undetectable
The open wounds expose the importance of
Our innocence
A high that can never be bought or sold
Symbolic acts - so vivid
Yet at the same time
Were invisible

she just transitioned into metal during three songs, love it
"I like being blown away"
Bird stage dove to misanthrope😂
My favorite guitarist, one day I’ll be able to talk to this man. Truly a legend taken by that bullshit we definitely have a cure for but only for certain people-_- Chuck is one of the main reasons why I started enjoying death metal and I love him for inspiring me to randomly play his riffs and try to come up with my own going off of his riffs ofc :). Taken way too soon
Chuck was such a genius. I was lucky enough to see him and Death twice live back in the days.
I suggest Atheist "Piece of time". I see Pestilence was also suggested before. From Tampa, same time, Nocturnus (anything from "The Key ")
I Highly recommend you to react to a whole 1998 album "The Sound Of Perseverance". It's came after 1995 album "Symbolic" ("Symbolic" and "Misanthrope" are from that album) so all the music decisions were perfected in the next album. Lyrics in that album also are really well written and has a lot of meaning to it. Also it is more heavy on catchy melodies that even these examples are.
You're husband is based. Really appreciated his bravery to recommend you these songs.
Damn I miss the mid 80s to mid 90s... that decade hands down had the best metal. Just one iconic album after another were released so frequently it was pure musical bliss.
I am pretty young, but I would've loved to live that time. No internet or anything.
The 80's to mid 90's was by far the best 15yr area of all time in metal music.
Little did Chuck know at the time that these albums would be a part of our memories of our innocence as young men and women, just like he talks about in Symbolic.
It's nice that some people can appreciate another genre of music, even though it may be out of their wheelhouse. Especially Metal, considering it's not everyone's cup of tea. But I think that true connoisseurs of music will recognize true talent when they hear it.
Chucks voice changed a lot over the years, the song painkiller and infernal death have really different techniques, i really recomend listening to them!
Yeah it's really cool to listen to their discography from start to finish, hearing his voice change throughout the journey. I really like his vocals on every record. Especially Human, The sound of perseverance and Spiritual healing.
And thats awesome she really liked "Misanthrope" thats probably my favorite song off this album i love the way that chorus kicks in with Chucks vocals and the guitar riff with the insane drumming from Gene "The Atomic Clock" Hoglan i can just imagine like watching a horror movie and that part playing over it or the end of the world with the chorus playing it just sounds EPIC!
Your husband's taste is excellent. Death's music is pure genius. Death's music made me hold on to the axe despite my age going golden. I thought that I'd let the younger ones do it but wait I thought that I can still do it but not perfectly. Death is 99% my influence that is why I still hold on to my axe. Keep it up and thank you for being open to this genre, regards to your hubby. You got another subscriber here. 🤘
never stop ma dude, riff is life
Chuck was a riff machine and lyrical genius
RIP Chuck , there is no bad DEATH song !!
The godfathers of death metal (I know some people will say Possessed) . I've been listening to them for over 30 years and love this band. RIP Chuck!
Best Band of the World. I miss it so much.
This band is a masterpiece
Chuck is legend
Just as great live as recorded 🤘 R.I.P. Chuck
Symbolic album is perfection, heavy and melodic without sounding cheesy and forced which many band fail to accomplish.
Misanthrope opening riff always gives me the chills
In a similar vain, but with more light and shade in the music and both growling and clean vocals, you might want to consider checking out Opeth. Their music is very progressive and every song is a journey 😊
Your husband is certainly a keeper!
I remember listening to Death for the first time. I saw this guy in my school who had a Death shirt and I
During my “infant” stages of my Metal journey I was an awe. I was 17 years old and I’m now 35 and still in awe just as I was on day 1
Favorite band. Followed by opeth and nightwish.
Keep in my chuck played these incredible guitar parts while doing vocals.
the giggle at 'so you preach about how im supposed to be'
A moment of clarity or to forgive is to suffer are my picks from their last album. The flesh and the power it holds is awesome too. All their shit rules. He made some really good tracks with his final band Control Denied. Give em another go from a diferent era. Great video.
Misanthrope hater of all mankind. There is some hope for those who own their minds. My favorite Death song.
Funny enough, way back in the day they had the song The Philosopher on Beevis and Butthead (the characters didn't like it). The drums are being done by the atomic clock Gene Hoglan, a living legend in Metal History in his own right. I would recommend checking out Cynic: How Could I, Space for This, and Lack of Comprehension from Death's Human Album which had the late great Sean Reinert on drums and Paul Masvidal playing guitar.
chuck is widely regarded as the best death metal vocalist of all time. RIP chuck
The best reactions to hearing death metal like Death for the first time is spontaneous laughing due to being blown away. That was my reaction back in '91, when I first heard the album Human by Death. You get it :) Also, props for mixing this reaction in a way where you can make short comments that don't drown out the music, and not pausing constantly 🤘
I worked with the sound engineer who did these albums with Death Jim Morris from Morrisound studios on a couple of my songs a few years ago, he told me that when they had all the music finished for the Symbolic album Chuck said "alright now let's go ruin all these songs with my vocals" Apparently he didn't like his own singing/screaming lol!! I think it's brilliant R.I.P. Chuck 2 of the songs I did with Jim Morris are here on my TH-cam channel "Fallback" and "Keep Moving On" off my album 'Hood Magic' in case anyone wants to check them out
I always thought Chucks vocals weren't as harsh sounding than a lot of Death metal and that along with how amazing his music progressed makes Death very high on my list. I only like a handful of Death metal bands Death is my favorite of them by far. It's very interesting and cool to see a very attractive woman interested in exploring this type of heavy music, let's be real not too many super attractive women are interested in something like this. Every metal Chanel I watch is all guys with maybe a few women. Much props to you and I'm very glad you enjoyed it , I could tell you were maybe surprised about how much was going with the music itself like possibly those frettless bass lines in the Philosopher.
Its harsh, but he was early.
A lot of what Chuck Did was Judas Priest, Exciter, Venom and Possessed features but pushed into a new extreme.
It have dynamics and range and open sound.
More relaxed
@@Nissardpertugiu that's just fine with me I like I can understand what he is saying unlike something with low deep growls and it's not just something violent for the sake of gore. Especially the more they progressed he had more intelligent lyrics. I grew up on hardcore punk and crossover so something with a possible message or story grabs my attention more than something like hammer smash face. I just really like Death and can talk about them almost as much as Sabbath who I also love more as a adult than a teenager. Your right though to most people his vocals are harsh I'm just used to harsh vocals coming from that hardcore punk background. It's just so ingrained in my musical DNA being 45 and having been into this stuff since before I was in my teens.
The great death metal for reaction video could be Asphyx (or album Consuming Impulse by Pestilence). Their vocalist Martijn van Drunen is the real deal, tyimg to the split top 3 death metal singer, with early Karl Willets of Bolt Thrower (also Memoriam) and John Tardy (Obituary). German band Holy Moses and their female vocalist Sabina Klassen is another cool band with notable vocals I would wish to see in the next videos. The New Machine of Liechtenstein is the technical and crystal-sounding album by Holy Moses I highly recommend. Judas Priest with Robert Halford also have a huge range of astonishing vocal heritage to look at. Sole comparison of Dreamer Deceiver to Painkiller to Sentinel is enough to cause a shock effect. Live videos of his solo Resurrection tour, 1982 and Fuel for Life 1986 tours, Seminole HardRock Arena concert and just the newest ones (find any 72 years old man with this range in use!) are recommended. Halford is a worthy of being considered a top 10 singer of all time, along with those like Plant, Muddy Waters and Montserrat Caballé.
Did not know Consuming Impulse and Asphyx had the same vocalist but it makes a lot of sense in retrospect
Always great with some Death, my all time favorite band and the best band i ever seen live 👌🤘
Great reaction to a great legendary band! Another death-metal band to react to is Crypta "Trial of Traitors" - they're an all girl death metal band from Brazil that is heavily influenced by Death and they just dropped this new single!!!
Amazing that youre a pop singer but u have husband metal head,my respect and ty for enjoying the legacy of this legendary Band called DEATH
"I like being blown away, that's what she said" 😂😂😂
As being "the office" fan I must appreciate this very much 😂😂
My favourite band! You earned a subscriber here :)
Man, no one reacts to my favorite band. Thank you for this!
Hi!As a long time fan of extreme music might I recommend Crystal Mountain from the Symbolic album. In my opinion it contains one of,if not the greatest metal riff of all time.So glad you enjoyed listening to Death.Your husband obviously has great taste in music!
I can tell you this: that bird was intrigued…
Born '76 Greece!
Remembering 1991 my entrance to very 'eavy music via classic heavy metal!
Spiritual Healing is my foremost top of Death's legacy.
1991 Blessed are the Sick, Necrotisism ...from Carcass,Entombed,Nocturnus,Atheist,Obituary....15 year old and remembering at Saturday morning going to "Rock City" Athens Socrates road,to explore the vinyls of these bands from this forever gone era!
....mesmerised from the growling voice of Chuck in the refrain of same titled song of Spppiiirituuuuaaaallll Heeeeaaaaliiiinnnggng...
There's a guy on TH-cam that played Death guitar riffs without distortion and all the other instruments. It was super eye opening to see how beautiful Chuck's song writing actually is without out any of the band/noise around it.

Chuck lives in heaven and our hearts,,and the philosopher's song,is the best song put on the b side..and in my opinion it doesn't deserve the b side,,good job chuck😢😢😢😢😢
queee genial como suena ese freetlesss, estába escuchando death y me tope con tu canal.... ahora tengo una duda, no sé si me gusta más la canción o tú jaj naa, saludos de stgo, chile.
Pure mastery of all what is music...
I've recently discovered them last year and i have to say that it's been years since music has brought a smile to my face like "Death" does.
The deluxe editions have instrumental versions, makes me appreciate the brutal musicianship on those songs even more.
Individual Thought Patterns' lineup in one of the best ever, jesus fucking christ
two of the best metal albums of all time.... and the lyrics..... just look at the world now
Great reaction to a legendary band. Chuck and Death were so innovative in the death metal scene which lasted all the way until his untimely death unfortunately. Truly a inspirational and exceptional musician.
Best band in the business, Sepultura reaction next
Symbolic is a masterpiece of a song you should check out their cover of Judas priests painkiller
awesome cover the Judas priest album is awesome to.
I was lucky to meeting Chuck back in 1999 at the Satyricon in Portland Oregon. Hammerfall toured with them. Chuck was a really cool dude. Soft spoken tall guy too.
It's nice to see someone who's not into Metal liking masterpieces from Death.
Also: the Zelda Game & Watch behind you 💖💖
Death is the shit, especially the two albums these songs were taken from. They are very musical. There are actual melodies enough to whistle or hum along to. Positive lyrical content doesn't hurt either. They were a huge influence in my life from both a musical and on a personal level.
Im love your pet bird so much!!!
Death was one of the best things to happen to my life... heh. Love the whole Symbolic album, and the Philosopher is definitely one of my favorites from ITP.
human masvidal is good guitarist👍💪🏽👊🏻
Love that little green acrobat. He likes to steal the show.
Yeah Death is still fresh to this day. Great songwriting and execution.
Lmfao there no way you popped up with the birb hahaha. First time seeing any of your videos. Hahaha😂
RIP God Father of Death Metal

You just have to see the "Perennial quest". One of the Death's masterpieces😁
Greetings from Poland! I subscribe you! I salute my husband!🤘
All the greatest talented musicians in there no wonder and the mastermind Is Chuck..all time fave band’s..
hubby knows his metal. right on \m/
Death is one of those death metal bands' that have their own unique style. I've listened to them since middle school and I am 46 now. I first learned The Philospher. The bird is cool, been waiting for him or her to bob it's head....😂
Chuck may not be with us now but, his legacy continues.
Pick your metal recommendations carefully as you break into it. People will make recommendations to shock and revolt you just to see you give up on it. There is greatness in some of the course stuff but if your not ready it can repel you. Great job to the husband for these recommendations.
Hey, greetings to your husband. Our tastes match. By the way I wouldn't surprised to hear next Amorphis and In Flames :)
React to carcass heartwork. 👍
I second this yeehaw yo!
plus Corporal Jigsaw Quandary and Keep On Rotting In The Free World - Carcass
Without Judgement is also another great song from Death
Death: heavy music, ok, but highly sophisticated, impressive. Fact.
Damn this is bringing me right back to my college years…
