    Some things I want to know about the prebuilt generators is how easy is it to replace a battery in one? Are they generic batteries? Can you add extra batteries externally to extend the capacity? That is the beauty of a DIY system that nobody talks about that runs rings around prebuilt

      You could replace the battery if you had some knowledge in making your own Lifepo4 packs. Jasonoid has a good video on adding extra 100ah batteries using a small voltage converter.

    Those all in ones often have super fast AC charging - that's a big advantage.

    My recycler lets me sift through his copper wire bins and pull out what I need at 4 dollars US per pound. I've got some great deals that way. I've never seen anyone do a video on that before. I make my own connectors out of copper tubing by flattening one side in a vise and drilling a hole on my drill press. Then I use a hydraulic crimper to connect. Works great.

      That's a good idea! I have some 2 gauge windy nation cables I've swapped these out for

    I think you should have used a battery box. Many of them already come with DC ports and are much more than your computer case.

    In one of Will's videos not long ago about the portable power stations, the one that has 500 volts solar input is really a good unit.
    If you want quick and dirty cheap one then DIY is the way to go for a small unit. If you are looking to have a stout system them the one the will did the review on is really the way to go unless you can piece all the parts at a lower price.
    Though his 5kwh eg4 battery and eg4 3kwh inverter is really a good system by itsself on a hand truck.
    Really depends on the person and the use case for which unit one would buy. If the companies would get smarter and start building stuff with tons of options and they are smart about it then the portable units will be a viable unit.

      Definitely depends on what you plan to use it for

    The cables that come with the inverter might be copper clad/undersized I would check/ replace them for the proper size & pure copper.

      They are 4 gauge but I replaced them with some windy nation 2 gauge, much nicer soft copper

    Diy. But scared to do it. I keep looking up how to make one that has multiple batteries and a bigger inverter. Thanks for the video

      The mini batteries make it so much more portable!

    Was the output of the 700 sinewave or modified sine? Thanks!

    • @SmitHVAC.
      @SmitHVAC.  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I don't have an oscilloscope but in the other videos I watched on it, they confirmed it is pure sine. As well as the renogy 1000w

      @@SmitHVAC. I appreciate the quick reply and thanks for the info. Amazon has little pocket type O-Scopes for around $40. They may not be very accurate but they will certainly show you a sine wave vs a stepped or modified sine wave. I do enjoy your vids so thanks for doing them. Have a great weekend! 👍
