That's a man who knows how to keep a thumb nail. Done that more times than I care to admit.

One of the most painful things I have done to myself. I punched a hole into it with a screw driver and it started down close to the base of the nail. It has taken months to grow out and heal.

[Posted before the stream in case I miss it]
I linked about 20m of wire onto my 40-10m CaHR Apollo to work on 80m. And picked up the 12m band along the way. Win win!

That is basically what I am doing here. Just getting the wire optimized by band.

Nice work. The NanoVNA is definitely a challenge to read in the field. But I'm not ready to drop the money on a Rig Expert...yet.

I'm at that point where it is either a Rig Expert or a large screen NanoVNA. I have to admit that my eyes are not 20 years old any longer.

I bought an AA-55 Zoom used. Best antenna analyzer around in my opinion.

I *almost* bought one at Hamvention. I had already blown through my budget so it is just going to have to wait.

Hey... I just stumbled on your channel. I will be watching all of your videos to catch up. Wondering if you have a name for these activations (POTA,SOTA) maybe FOTA ...Falling On The Air? Also you may want to looking into using WAGO 221-2401, they will be much easier to separate.

Carlos calls it parachute mobile, making QSOs on a jump.

Like Lee said, Parachute Mobile. I have too much fun with it too.

Our group was talking about this the other night, setup and take down time, 40m vs 80m, we estimated it to be about 4 mins each. What you gain from that extra wire could if you make that next connection. If you have the room, put up the wire.

On the ground for sure! In the air I'm trying to keep the pattern as omni as possible and the less wire I have to spool out the faster I get to play radio.
