Hi Friends, Kali have definitely hit this one out of the park for us! We are very impressed with the new IN-5! Please let me know what you're using! Love having discussions on speakers! Also don't forget to enter to win one of three pairs of the Kali's!
I am using a pair of Adam A7X's which I really like. My second set will be the Kali IN-5's. I am really glad you did this review Warren......perfect timing for this video. Hoping to Win!!
How is the bass response? I’m looking forward possible new monitors for mostly dance music production, and if the Kali’s are good, I can push saving for ATCs down the road a little longer.
These or lp6 v2 for playing digital piano through and listening to music for enjoyment? I read some reviewer said the in5 are not enjoyable to listen to, exceptional in every other area though…
These sound absolutely fantastic! I have the LP6’s! After working with Adam’s; Event’s; Yamaha HS5’s HS7’s and NS10’s; Fokal; Alesis; Genelec’s; and many more from being in many studios for many years. I absolutely love my LP6’s! These sound absolutely amazing and I agree they sound very close to your Genelec’s! These IN5’s are just another great Speaker from Kali Audio!
So funny Kali speaker story: I have good little old Yamahas that I use to listen podcasts. I install the Lp-6's and am just playing video games-and all my podcasting friends have Shure SM-7s-straight digital into modern mixes. And I freak out because: " Get A Pop Filter!!!" "I can hear your chair squeak", and "You're compressor is set to high!!!!" :-)
LOL! When we were listening to the IN-8s for the first time, I was going through reference tracks and had a similar experience. Found myself wanting to tweak cymbals on tracks that I'd previously thought were perfect!
Can't fault Kali as a company. Great products and excellent aftersales service. Yes they actually respond to emails! Great stuff Warren. I have the LP-6 which in a small room sound fantastic (along with sonarworks). If was to upgrade to a 3way system i'd definitely consider these!

Warren, it sounds like Kali has hit the mark once again. Last year, I built my home studio around their IN-8s based on your recommendation and have never looked back. And yes, the Switch Witch is still available; also got mine from Sweetwater during last year's studio build for $300 or so, IIRC. Lets me flip between 3 sets of powered speakers plus a sub with no fuss at all. And last but by no means least, rest in sonic power Rupert Neve.

Love your channel Warren. I have Dynaudio Core 59's and love them, I'm thinking about getting these for a second look at my mixes. I bought the Focal Evo's and absolutely HATED them and returned them. Focal only made changes to the look of the Speakers and defitnatly not the sound of them. So I guess I'll give these a try. Keep it coming Warren. Thank you.
Hi Warren, for monitors I'm using Tannoy Reveal 502s which sound very well balanced & also the reissue Auratone 5Cs. I will also us headphones to check & mixes seem to translate very nicely everywhere.
A comparison of the Kali IN5v2's and the iLoud MTM's. Am very pleased with the iLoud MTM monitors. Two 3.5 inch + tweeter and they have an internal calibration system that comes with a special mic, etc. Amazingly loud with a full-range bass response (remember 2 x 3.5 = 7 inches). I recently (4 months ago) got the Kali IN5 v2's. At first, I was not happy with the high-end and could not hear the reverb and delay trails as I could with the iLouds. Also the sub-bass was not as round, soft, and prominent as on the iLouds. In addition, the iLouds have much much more available/useable gain than the Kali's (a lot more). With all that being said, I engaged the +2db boost on the Kali's and it was a whole different world. They are superb now. I can hear the verb and delay trails, the upper mid's and highs have much more clarity and definition, and (surprisingly) the sub-bass seems more apparent and balanced and is comparable to the iLoud's. There are differences between the iLoud's and the Kali's (the iLoud's still have a softer, rounder, fuller, low-end and the stereo image is a bit different), but using both systems is working out really well. Warren, I know you reviewed the lower priced 2-way little brother of the iLoud MTM's, but you should really check out and review the MTM's too. :) -colin
I got a pair of LP-6s a year and a half ago and have been loving them. The best monitors in their price range. I'm looking to get a pair of IN-8s this year. These IN-5s look interesting though. Well done again Kali!
I had a problem with one of my kalis and they went out of their way to fix it. Excellent service from a excellent company. I reccomend kalis to everyone i know.

listening through IN-8's paired with WS-12 here, very nice thing about that coaxial design is how it almost "erases" the room environment from the sound :)
I feel the port on the Kali's give it a slight mid boost which to me sound like a cleaner, modern version of the NS10's! LOVE the smooth frequency response all the way to the top without strange peaks or crossovers. I need THIS for my setup. Crossing my fingers and toes for a win!!!
I feel you, I never had any studio monitors before, and upgrading straight to the head of the pack with the IN-5's would be a game changer for me. Best of luck.
Great video & insights into the IN-5. Was looking for a sub to bolster my current BX8 mains then saw your vid on Kali site. Now thinking the Kali WS-12 sub paired up with these little beauties will definately do the job with their coaxial squawker & tweeter and give me a better focussed near-field rig for mixing on - I HOPE. Thanks for the tip :)
When you have multiple monitors, obviously they all can't be equilateral triangles from your listening position. Do you move back your listening position for each monitor?
Thanks so much. These monitors are fantastic sounding and such great value. I have them sitting horizontally with the proper dip switches in the “on” position. I also shelved the highs. A little bright for my taste. Right now, they’re sounding so good. Thanks again!
@@xmun2450 it probably still is. As for the noise, i ended buying a pair of in-5 and there is no noticeable noise coming from them, even at less than a meter. they do lack sub bass, so im thinking of getting a sub somewhere down the line to complement them.
I got the Kali LP 8 version, and I have to say, they aren’t as loud as I expected, but they sound fantastic. Think HS8... which I love. Side by side the mix sounds almost identical. How I use the dip switches... I have high freq hearing loss. So I use them to flatten it out for MY hearing loss. Then flip them flat and perfect 👌 I no longer need to use my wife’s ears to check my high frequencies. And the low end on the LP8 is exceptional. Not as loud as you think, very clean and clear. Great bang for the buck.

Hi Warren, thanks for all the great knowledge share. Question: I'm 57 and have tinnitus at about 8-9K. Is there any tips or tricks to avoid issues when mixing or mastering with this condition. Recently back into recording after a 17 year absence. Wow has tech changed the home recording environment. Awesome stuff. Cheers!
Love your vids Warren. I'm so curious about these Kali monitors after watching your channel. I'm coming from JBL 305s and have been looking for a front port design because of wall placement. The Kali LP6 or IN-5's seem to be what I'm looking for. Would you consider the IN-5s to be worth the difference vs the LP6s?
we're huge fans of Kali, I am I know. If that is a Dual Concentric HF/MR unit that is gonna be great for imaging and improve the mid's on your mixing. Also if they do a new speaker 6inch bass with the new unit the price will maybe go up a bit but would maybe give a tad extra output around 40Hz. If you get these new ones, and if Warren says they are VERY GOOD, HE MEANS IT. (I got the Kali 6)
Hi warren, love all your videos they are super helpful :) I have a question for you and would love and value your opinion. I’m torn between the barefoot footprint 01 and the focal trio be 6. I noticed you have the focal 11’s what would you recommend between the 2 sets of speakers?
Warren, with a tracking/control room 18’x14’ would these 5inch 3 ways be enough size and power to throw sound the length of my room? My client couch is about 16 feet from console...
Just got Kali IN-5 and Neumann KH 80 (4 inch woofer). Tested Both with a KRK10G subwoofer set at 70hz crossover. running through RME Babyface Pro FS. I first received the Neumanns and were absolutely underwhelmed by their size and looks. They are small and not really pretty speakers looking more like bigger PC-speakers. They really can`t bass, they are small! But then i bought and connected the 10 inch KRK Sub. When the Neumanns don`t have to work in the lower bass frequencies, they can unfold their potential in the low mids, mids and highs. Then i got an opportunity to lend and test the Kali IN-5 in white (beautiful) from a local music store. I disconnected a Neumann from one channel and connected a KALI instead, and played some songs over Winamp - moving the pan-slider from 100% left to 100% right to directly test KALI vs Neumann. I really wanted to send back the Neumanns and keep the KALIs, - the white model is an eye candy compared to the small black toy-looking Neumanns. I would save lots of cash - it`s 350€/piece for Kali VS 570€/piece for the Neumanns. AAAND the Kalis are 3-way monitors instead of 2-way Neumanns. I have to note - i did not use any calibration software, nor used the Neumanns DSP, nor used any switches on the Kalis. RESULT: all praise for the Kalis is ridiculous. 3 Way your butt! Absolute mushy and muddy mids - where instruments and vocals really mask each other, really dull and truncated highs. You may think they are great, - when you hav nothing good or even mid-tier to compare. Neumanns, compared to Kalis hat much better localisation in the mids - vocals and instruments were separated from each other and you could clearly hear every single instrument/vocal. Aswell as crystal-clear highs. Switching to Kali were as if you would listen through a towel (i am exaggerating a bit, but the difference is immense) and switching back to Neumanns were as if you were back getting fresh air again. I were using Yamaha HS 80 M (almost identical to the newer H8) i would even take the H8 all day everyday over the Kalis. But in comparison to the small, toy-looking, cheapest Neumann KH80 the Kalis are trash. Completely underwhelmed and dissapointed. Gonna bring them back in 2 days and keep the Neumanns.
You are talking nonsense. With that being said, please show us the measurements in your room and your listening positions for both, KH80 and IN5. Using some fancy words to describe what you hear is for amateurs and audiofools. If you are a professional or serious about the sound you should know better.
Been happy with my LP8s, they are a little big though. These might be more at home on a desk... been eyeing the new sub they came out with, would love to see a review of that... don’t really need a sub, but sometimes some extended low would be fun...
Hi there! Great video first of all and thank you for once again being the first to review them :) Short question there...how would you include a software like sonarworks when working with a console? I'm running 32Ch IN and OUT....but that means I can't use their software in the normal way....how could I get it to work? Working with a Midas M32 and Pro Tools.
I know you meant good but why compare a Hyundai (Kalis) with say a Porsche (Gens). Can't do that bro! I was about to buy the Kalis but after hearing this AB test now I'm back to square one. Darn it! Haha.

@@Producelikeapro ah ok thank you !
Cheers!
Just wondering if you can also review the new Adam t7v monitors. Supposed to be great for a low budget option.
Yes! Talking to Adam now, hoping to get speakers to review soon enough!
@@Producelikeapro Awesome man! Thanks so much
Thanks ever so much
Yes, would love an honest comparison of the Adams and Kali.
I would work with them on the decond setting
These are great speakers. I have n LCR of them. Kali please make a sub with surround bass management.
Love your vids Warren. I'm so curious about these Kali monitors after watching your channel.
I'm coming from JBL 305s and have been looking for a front port design because of wall placement. The Kali LP6 or IN-5's seem to be what I'm looking for. Would you consider the IN-5s to be worth the difference vs the LP6s?
hi i m curently using lsr 305 (first release). did u buy in5? pls get me updated
I LOVE my Kali Audio LP-8s. I was wondering where yours went :)
Great stuff as always Warren :)
Hi Sam! Glad you enjoyed it
I got a Pair of IN 5 and i live it.
Marvellous
For me, i do all my work on my genelecs 8040. really love them
Buy genelec ones dsp loudspeakers they are oufff... fu..k they are SUPER GREAT
Got my IN-8s would love the Independence babies!
we're huge fans of Kali, I am I know.
I always ❤️ music n indeed it's my hobby ever since my young days till date as life without music is dull.
the k5 are worth to use from time to time at a garden party as a dj?
What's the song at 10:27 . WOW
Love my Kali's
Marvellous
@BojanBojovic my experience is not nonsense 😅 you are nonsense 🤡
Great speakers!! Any differences soundwise with the IN-8's (except for the low end and the selfnoise) ????
The IN-8s also have lower distortion!
Been happy with my LP8s, they are a little big though. These might be more at home on a desk... been eyeing the new sub they came out with, would love to see a review of that... don’t really need a sub, but sometimes some extended low would be fun...

When back in the Uk Warren?
After all of the craziness I'll be back over to the UK and Europe! I miss travelling!!
Hi there! Great video first of all and thank you for once again being the first to review them :)
Short question there...how would you include a software like sonarworks when working with a console? I'm running 32Ch IN and OUT....but that means I can't use their software in the normal way....how could I get it to work?
Working with a Midas M32 and Pro Tools.
I know you meant good but why compare a Hyundai (Kalis) with say a Porsche (Gens). Can't do that bro! I was about to buy the Kalis but after hearing this AB test now I'm back to square one. Darn it! Haha.
