What a good time to be a producer and mixer!! Thanx 4 this video, happy holidays from Paraguay, south america
Bought the Mk1 a while ago, and still happens to me that someone else is editing Voice overs, and I truly cannot notice if it’s the real actor or the playback that’s doing the sound if I’m not in the room. Hardly use headphones nowadays
The speakers are nice but would/could they replace my NS-10's? Amp cost there might make it a wash. That said, I loved seeing your SSL/Dangerous rig that matches mine. :) Merry Christmas! 🎄🎄🎄
I don’t believe I’ve heard the barefoot, but I do own a pair of the Adam A8H. I have their S series in my mix room in Nashville, but was mixing out of town quite heavily for a handful a months so those were a cheaper alternative with that same type of technology and vibe. I was very very happy with them. Because of the 8 inch woofer they absolutely hit substantially harder than the MK2s. But they’re also much larger and heavier. You’re not going to travel with them or hang them from a wall or ceiling mount. I see them both as winners for many people depending on their needs.
@Producelikeapro Thanks a ton for this review. I've been on the fence and this did it for me. Immediately used your Sweetwater link and bought a pair. Also added the Audient Nero Monitor controller to go along with them.
will these make for a good center … currently run some Genelec 8351B with GLM … I don’t mix for center too frequently but was curious if these had great mid range?
@@InTheMixJoeCarrell $800 puts them in range of the small Genelec but without SAM support. They do sound good and I like that they have mic based calibration. BUT, I'll probably have to go with another Genelec SAM to work with my GLM calibrations. I like the idea of iLoud portability, my Genelecs are definitely NOT portable.
Been using these speakers for a couple of weeks now, and I'm mostly happy with them. A bit of a downside for me is aggressive amount of room correction, overcompensating for the bass resonances I'm dealing with here. Would be great to have the option to seamlessly blend between the linear and corrected signal. But unfortunately, it's either on or off, unless I'm missing something.
I haven’t used the room correction on this model, however, the previous ones I was able to dial it back. I would do a double jock Google detach for the question
@ that’s for sure. I mean, the options are still there, they are just more expensive 😂 I believe Mr Trump may have similar plans. It will be interesting to see how that affects US prices in the future.
The ‘flat’ button looks useful for we UK viewers, who wish to use them in a small single-floored dwelling space... but, should the USA version come with an ‘apartment/condo’ button instead... and is there a ‘pad’ function for more groovy/hippie abodes..?
@@Producelikeapro A ‘Maisonette’ button would boost the sound enough ‘2-Floor’ you... ...the ‘Townhouse’ studio button would, presumably, make everything sound like Virgin recordings from the 1980s.
Hi! I recently purchased a pair and noticed an issue with low frequencies that I’m struggling to resolve. When playing frequencies below 60Hz, the bass reflex area seems to produce an unusual resonance or vibration, even at low volumes. I reached out to the manufacturer, and they suggested activating the high-pass filter at 60Hz. While this reduces the problem, it prevents me from monitoring the advertised low frequencies, which defeats the purpose of these monitors for accurate mixing. I’m curious if you noticed any similar behavior during your testing, especially when pushing the monitors below 60Hz. Any insights or advice would be greatly appreciated! Thank you for your time!
Yes, I have my monitors isolated on dedicated stands with acoustic foam at the base, so the issue is definitely not caused by the room or external vibrations. The resonance seems to originate from the bass reflex port itself, and it happens on both speakers. This makes me think it’s not a defect on just one unit but potentially something inherent to the design. I appreciate your insight, thank you again for taking the time to respond!
@@Producelikeapro Thank you for your reply and for offering to double-check! I’ve already performed sweeps in my room and ruled it out as the cause of the issue. My other monitors (KRK Rokit 6 G3) don’t exhibit the same behavior in the same setup. The resonance appears to be specific to the MTM MKII’s bass reflex port, as it’s noticeable on both speakers and occurs even at low volumes. I also have some videos documenting the vibration. If you’re interested, I’d be happy to share them with you via email. Please let me know! Thanks again for looking into it!
I did like my MTMs, but one died. Was a very common issue IK downplayed. See forums for power issues. As I was just out of their 2 year, I was told bye. Bought another new, had infamous noise issue. Sadly lost all confidence and respect for IK. Hopefully newer ones are better for guys. Just wanted to warn folk, as IK don’t allow posts either. Yeah..
I know many Professionals that use the small ones, did you them and use them in a larger room? They work great around my computer screen, perfect for editing and automation moves!

I’ve been tempted to buy these but they are still close to $2000 here in Australia. That’s in Kali audio, Yamaha kinda money :/
