    Too funny, the comments that everyones making a mess with theirs. I did the same thing. I never Owed a water pik until yesterday. The directions were vague.. I splashed my mirror In my bathroom and got water all over my vanity bc I didn’t keep m mouth closed. I did exactly what this chick said not to do. Lol I actually sprayed the plug socket by accident bc when I turned the darn thing on I wasn’t paying attention to which direction it was In and I thought you had to hold the button down continuously. Boy was I wrong! Last night I was laying in bed thinking what went wrong. I figured at that point I should’ve had my mouth closed to avoid the mess. Today I decided to watch a video on how to use it and get some tips. This is what came up. This video was useful even though I kinda figured out how to use it but she made some great points. I recently went to the dentist for the first time in 5 years, because I absolutely hate going to the dentist. I get really bad anxiety, I feel judged, and I just end up walking out of there with zero self esteem. The dentist I see now is amazing and instead of telling me what's wrong, they tell me how we can improve and maintain. I recently had an SRP and Arestin placed into the perio pockets.
    I always hated flossing as a kid and into my current 30s I still do because of teeth crowding issues (these are being addressed). I picked up a WaterPik online and it has been the best purchase ever along with my Oral B Genius toothbrush. I can get between all my teeth and get below the gums, where I actually feel like my mouth is clean. I don't go any higher than a 3 right now because my gums are still tender in some spots.

    I can't believe how much fun that was lol. You should teach this at grammar school where everybody pretty much has all their teeth at least their permanent ones. I'm going to share you with my sister's grandchildren. When they spend the night it is such an ordeal to get them to brush their teeth. I show them the teeth that I've lost because I didn't take care of my teeth properly. I'm so old to them I don't think it really affects them. Then I go through how you need to move the plaque around your teeth and gums at least every 24 hours or it will turn into a rock. I don't know how exactly true that is but it works the best. Now I have your videos and thank you very much for that. I can't wait to see their reaction. You rock girl!!!

    As a little bit of an older dude, Ive learned that good dental care is more about having healthy gums vs healthy teeth. If you have gum disease, you will lose teeth and experience a lot of pain trying to fix the problem. Switched to a waterpik and basically all my gum issues went away. Use it religiously each night before bedtime and splash in a bit of listerine to kill any bacteria in the pockets of the gums. Works wonders and my mouth is about as fresh as it gets!!

    I bought a basic, battery-operated, hand-held WaterPik and an electric toothbrush for my birthday this year, and I'm still getting used to both. I've been using the WaterPik over my bathtub, and boy, did that visiting spider get a surprise! The first time I tried to use it over my sink, looking in the mirror, everything got drenched. It even shot up my nose. I thought to myself, "Where was this after I had nasal surgery and had to use a Neti bottle?"

    Fun, informative, and “stimulating,” pun intended. As an old geezer, I’m more cognizant than ever to make sure I have clean, healthy teeth and gums. Recently, I purchased a Waterpik water flosser to add to my regimen. First I floss, then I use the Waterpik water flosser, then I brush, and finally, I rinse my mouth with fluoride because unhealthy gums, gingivitis, plaque, tartar, and cavities are the enemy. Stimulating the gums, such as flossing and irrigating between the teeth are part of a healthy regimen, which will keep your mouth, teeth, and gums healthy to last a lifetime.

    I bought one from Walmart for $40. I got the Waterpik Cordless Water Flosser cordless and convenience. My box says a 1 year warranty but I paid $3 for a two year warranty when I checked out at Walmart. My box also says 2 tips included, 1 pressure setting, and 30 seconds of water capacity. I bought mine because it was recommended to me by the dental assistant, because I have a hard time flossing. I wanted to get one since January of this year but never gotten one till now. I just had my wisdom teeth evaluated for oral surgery removal and the dentist told me I have some plague issues with my teeth. So that’s why i decided now was the best time to get one.

    Oh how often do you clean it? I know to use a some white vinegar, and also how do you store it? I just emptied the basin dried it out. I'm worried about the inside.
    And do you still use regular floss?

      Hi!!! So happy you found this video!!! You WILL master it! Just really try to focus on the feeling and you can "feel" where you're aiming it while leaning over the sink and NOT looking in the mirror. I store mine emptied, as well. After I pour out the water, I run the line dry. I hope this makes sense! And, yes I still use regular floss, as well! It's my routine!!!

    I've been using a Waterpik Waterflosser for nearly a year. 2018 was my first visit to dentist in nearly 15 years. I was just so petrified to go, I had been a smoker and i didnt want to deal with potential bad news.
    Fast forward a year now, I've had a total of 4 cavities filled, had a deep cleaning (Not fun, but it's a valuable lesson), 1 tooth pulled. Today, my dentist and hygienist tell me the hard part is over. I love my water flosser, I swear by it. The question I have....
    I use the highestsetting, on this unit. That's 10. Am I ok using this 3 times a day? I went from lacking in oral hygiene a year ago to now being OCD about brushing and flossing. Not sure if it can be "too stimulating " , if that makes sense in any way. Awesome videos. Learning alot.

    • @TeethTalk
      @TeethTalk  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    It's not recommended to use water from the hot side of the tap. This could lead to contracting legionnaires disease. Although you may not swallow the water, why run the risk. Boil water, let it come to room temperature, and use it in your machine. I boil water the night before and use it from the kettle.
