Delta faucet not working | touch faucet blinking red light

  • Delta touch faucets are awesome - so long as they work. But sometimes, out of the blue, they quit working. Our delta touch 2.0 faucet quit giving us nothing but three blinking lights at the faucet base when we touched it.
    You can find Delta touch faucets online on Amazon or at the big box home improvement stores.
    Delta Faucet Essa Touch Kitchen Faucet Brushed Nickel, Kitchen Faucets with Pull Down Sprayer, Kitchen Sink Faucet, Touch Faucet for Kitchen Sink, Touch2O Technology, Arctic Stainless 9113T-AR-DST
    Duracell Coppertop AA Batteries with Power Boost, 28 Count (Pack of 1) - Packaging May Vary
    amzn.to/3Bj6rpB
    The possible issues when your touch 2.0 faucet quits are:
    1) a problem with low batteries or an issue with the battery container. If the faucset is powered with a/c then you could check the plug as well as the circuit breaker to ensure it has not tripped turning off the faucet. If you see a red light blinking 3x when the faucet is touch, more than likely it is a battery issue.
    2) outside a battery issue, you can check the wires going into the solenoid. They need to be securely plugged in.
    3) Finally, the "C" clip on the metal threaded shaft below the faucet (under the counter) needs to be securely attached to that threaded metal shaft. That metal on metal connection allows the touch sensor to work.
    Outside these three obvious fixes, you may want to contact Delta customer support for more unique issues and troubleshooting.

      Hey Joanne,
      I just looked at mine- both sides are same size. Maybe yours broke? Could be differences in productions runs too… hard to say.
      Easiest fix - good ole reliable gorilla tape ( or less strong duck tape ) .
      Just push the top down tight and tape one side to the other over the top .
      A little more work - contact customer support and see if they’ll send you out a new case.

    • @THEJavelinX
      @THEJavelinX ปีที่แล้ว

      You've obviously never used one, it's a small price to pay a few batteries every 6 months or so to have a touch faucet. I smoked 5+ briskets and a hunch of other stuff every week for a couple years, and being able to operate the sink while your hands are gross is SUPER useful...just keep extra batteries...who doesn't have space batteries?

    • @spsanders69
      @spsanders69 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      @@THEJavelinX No actually I have one, thanks for assuming. No the stupid thing is if the batteries run out and you don't have a battery, IT DOESN"T WORK AT ALL! That is the worst design ever. Fail to at least still get water out. Make it so the touch doesn't work, not that the faucet can't turn on at all.
      So yes, worst design decision ever!

    • @THEJavelinX
      @THEJavelinX ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @SS Sandman but if you buy stuff that's essential that requires batteries, and then you fail to keep a deep stock of batteries...then you fucked up lol. Also, if the batteries died and you had none left, you could remove them, put them in the freezer for a little bit, then install them back in the sink, turn the touch sensor on so that it opens the valve inside the sensor, and then unplug it. If you remove power while the valve is open, it just stays open forever, which effectively turns the units into a normal manual kitchen faucet (source: I had to do it yesterday because my sensor is faulty, so I know it works lol)

    I hope nobody watching this needs that much instruction on changing the batteries. Otherwise good info, unfortunately it was no help to me. I wired in an AC adapter in order to not have to deal with batteries, so that's not the issue. It works inconsistently, you may have to try 10 times or more before it will decide to turn on or off. With the clip unhooked and just hanging, it works every time I touch the clip or even the wire, that surprised me since the wire is insulated. Any thoughts?

    • @Tee1471
      @Tee1471 ปีที่แล้ว

      1) Move the clip up as high as you can on the shaft of the faucet. Believe it or not materiel your countertop of made of can cause issues. 2) Unhook your adapter and reinstall the batteries in the box. If this fixes the problem it's a problem with the adapter box itself 3) Call Delta and see if you can get a new Solenoid. Depending on the age of your faucet your Solenoid may not be combatable to the adaptor your using and you might need an updated one.

    • @dustintunis9347

      @@Tee1471 - It was doing the same thing before I got the adapter for it. I did try siding the clip up high and made sure the wire wasn't touching others. I believe it's granite, if it's an issue with the counter material is there a fix for it? Some way to insulate it?
