Thank you for the detailed look and explanation of the mechanicals. Finally, a dual engine dual prop boat that enclosed the props and two keels, I always wondered why the other manufacturers don't do this and they leave the props exposed.
What a beautiful yacht! This video is great, but the boat is so much more impressive in person. It was nice to meet you and your husband at the Front St Shipyard. Rangeley, the black dog with white paws, sends her best. Enjoy the Maine coast; we hope to cross paths again!
Laurie - it was great to meet you too! Hopefully we'll see you again over the summer. Would love to have you aboard for drinks - slowly getting the boat all put back together!!
Very beautiful what a wonderful life to enjoy life you're are very blessed enjoy safe fun ventures! Were just starting out with a 14ft maybe someday we'ld get a chance to enjoy a vessel like yours.. Thankyou for sharing alot info with good details.
Beautiful boat and wonderful tour. I suppose if you HAVE to live like that its ok.. ; ) A bit better that my first apartment. lol Enjoy life, you've found a wonderful way to live it.
I have toured a couple of 42 and 48 Nordhavns looking for our next live aboard and being 6'6" the headroom was adequate but I'm wondering if it is roomier in the 72 height wise?
Thanks Cathy, quite nice. Since the Nordhavn's are pretty much a design build, IE; you got a tone of options for layouts to choose,, what if anything would you change if you could?
+TheMILVET We bought our boat used and that's a great question. We thought that if we built a boat we would go with single engine, aft pilothouse. But this boat is twin engine, forward pilothouse, and we are now very pleased with this configuration. The one thing on this boat that's a little disappointing is that there is not a great outdoor dining area - the table in the flybridge is a bit small and it's difficult to re-configure. But it's not awful. Our boat also came with two guest cabins in addition to a master and crew cabin - each with its own full head. We would likely have gone with one shared head as we seldom would have more than one couple on board as guests. Overall, we are VERY pleased with the layout of the boat.
Kathy Clark Thanks Kathy, I appreciate you reply and your vids. I always wondered when people got one with "Crew Quarters" if they actually have crew, bought it for resale to someone who has crew or just has inconvenient cabins for others. Seems wasted space, I would think I would prefer to own and operate.
Our crew cabin could also be a guest cabin, but it is located next to the engine room. We do like to have a deckhand on board to help with cleaning and maintenance and to add safety for longer passages.
Tony Gariepy LOL, not sure we've learned them ALL yet. We previously had a sailboat which had much smaller versions of water maker, generator, vac-flush heads, etc. So that gave us a good foundation. The rest, you just learn a little at a time - read manuals, talk to other owners, pay attention when experts come to do work.
Opps! I though this was a canal narrowboat, you were next on the utube list, I thought I'd have a look anyway Hmmm, Lovely joinery and finish, (any wood with more than 8 coats of varnish just makes me go all gooey) my jaw dropped slightly with the tv/cinema screen, continued to drop on climbing into the pilot house, The matt black panels are very subtle (when off) and the watch berth is a nice bit of fun. I bet its nice to get some free catch food after the maintenance bills, I have a few question if you don't mind... The watermakers are they de-salination machines? Do the stabilizers give any sort of lift, like a hydrofoil effect? Do you reach bliss for more than half the day :) When I get my narrowboat would you consider a holiday exchange :) (just ignore this one) Oh well back to the narrowboat hunting great tour, you certainly know your stuff many thanks
Hi Paul thanks for the questions! The water makers are Village Marine reverse osmosis units making 40 gallons per hour each (x2). No, the stabilizers don't provide lift, mainly stability from side to side motion. We alternate between bliss, reality, and adrenaline - for example navigating through ice and hiking in polar bear country! Let me know when you get the narrowboat!
I had no idea water makers were that efficient, Ir'll be the same on a narrowboat, adrenaline kicks in some of the rougher parts of birmingham I've heard, but I'll let you know. Keep living the life
Hello Ms. Clark: Another informative video. Just curious on the regulations for the Grey Water tanks. Is it permissible to dump grey water in US ports or a certain mileage off shore? Thank you in advance.
For the most part, there is not a problem with grey water discharge. It's usually clear if there are restrictions, for example in the Great Lakes I think.
Thanks for all your videos. I hope you and all your family are doing well. Along with Shear Madness.
Fantastic boat tour, LOVE the engine room. Impressive boat and impressive owners. Thank you for sharing.
Thanks Eval!
Enjoyed the tour of your yaçht. What a beauty she is. Never been on or seen the inside of a boat like that.
Glad you enjoyed it. She was very comfortable for cruising and we had many a great adventure before turning her over to a new family last year.
Enjoy viewing each of your videos and the effort you make to bring us along on the journey! It all begins as a dream... ✌️💘🙏

That coffee station belongs in the Wheelhouse. Looks like you have the space. Otherwise one beautiful boat. Can't wait till I win the lottery!!
Possibly when underway, but we are more often at anchor and drink coffee in the main salon, so we like it where it is.
Beautiful boat and wonderful tour. I suppose if you HAVE to live like that its ok.. ; ) A bit better that my first apartment. lol Enjoy life, you've found a wonderful way to live it.

Kathy Clark I know nothing about yachts, but I have vacation time! :) Thanks for the response.
Wow that is a lot of boat for 72'
I would give good money to be in your shoes. Stunning boat enjoy
In your pilothouse, which do you like better? The high back or low back Stiid?
Thank you!!! Love the Nordhavn 72!
Thanks for the tour of ALL the spaces, how long did it take you to learn all the different systems?

@Kathy Clark if you don't mind me asking, what was the purchase price for your Nordhavn 72?
Suggest you look at norhdhavn.com brokerage listings to get an idea of costs.
Awesome trawler!!!
What year is this beauty?
2004
If ya ever get to the Pacific North West, lunch is waiting for you on Orcas island 😉

Damn one grounding plate dedicated to a radio!
:)
The boat is for sale there done
Nordhavn is a norwegian word
Boat worth millions, potato for a camera.
Not the cameras fault, I'm just not a very good photographer. All my videos are pretty amateur. Never set out to do professional quality.
