This is the best WoW Soundtrack. The composition is just genius, sets the correct mood and is perfectly arranged. The ending of the song is originally from the WoW Classic OST, however I dare to say that in this OST they perfected it. It's super nostalgic to listen to that section at the ending of the song, it makes you feel that everything is coming to an end and I guess that's how the intended it to be. A shame the expansion wasn't as good as the song lol

This piece of music really builds up emotions, sadness for what happend to the world and anger towards the creature that made it happen, its truelly a remarkable piece of music that really gets you into the feel for all thats happend. personally the intro theme's have become better each time, re-telling the previous patch prior to the expansion, for example in Wotlk we had a bit from the fury of the sunwell patch. it almost tells you the story of whats happend so far.

recently i have been hearing the "invincible" theme from wrath of the lich king playing in my head, and it kept transitioning into cataclysm music...so i came here to listen and make sure i wasn't just making music up, and sure enough i was just hearing the echo of years ago back during cataclysm, listening to the loading screen play itself out over and over for the past few weeks, every song in order, almost 100% accurate in my mind and i have no idea why. now that i know this though, whats confusing me that i never thought about until now: why is invincible playing for cataclysm????
and now that im looking back on cata...it was one of the largest expansions in terms of new content and changed/new zones if not THE largest, and is extremely underrated and is probably the least remembered expansion next to burning crusade. Nobody really remembers burning crusade that much, not even when they are in a burning crusade zone lmao

WoW's music is incredible and no game score can match it or ever will... I cannot express my feelings listening to this theme. Although I stopped playing in WOTLK after 7 years and didn't even see Cata, the mix of all main themes taped into this is STELLAR. Even though I will never play WoW again, I will never forget it because of it's unparalleled gameplay, art design and music. For real Vanilla players, no mmorpg will ever top those feelings, not even that thing called GW2. WoW is a Generation
This is all part of the main cataclysm theme. If you're looking for the inspiration for the various portions, you need only look at the previous expansions' theme songs. They basically took those and cranked them to 11.
The melodic line that starts around 11:00 which the one you asked about is part of, is only used in Legends of Azeroth (the vanilla WoW main theme), and probably is related in a big part to Azeroth itself, and changing it for the Cataclysm theme signifies the Cataclysm itself. You can find the original theme at around 1st minute in any vanilla WoW theme vid, it's a little different, but still the same line. It isn't used anywhere else except in vanilla and Cata themes.
Its a mictures of A LOT of the other themes/songs. Combines the old menu music perfectly along with a few other goodies. There was a list somewhere on here that had them all and at which parts.

Its like a "flash-back" of our wow experience (We each have at lasted switched servers at least 4 times for end-game purposes). All those MC 40man raids all the way to HLK 25man raids to arenas, bg, etc... EPIC!!
I honestly have no clue why all these people think it's crap because it's from a videogame! I think WoW music is really nice and well composed and it works perfectly with the in-game world. I enjoy WoW but the music makes it just that much more enjoyable!
