Have you ever considered experimenting with over seeding with perennial winter rye grass in early fall season? This will have your lawn or your customers with a green lawn all winter. This will in time give you some business cutting lawns in the winter months. The color can be beautiful and it grows aggressively with little watering after it’s established. It comes back naturally every year since it’s a perennial.

Hey Ernest, very rarely. It does look good but it’s not gonna work if your doing treatments so if you decide to use the rye when it dies off you could have a lot of weeds in the turf since you didn’t use any preemergent for the rye to grow. That’s the risk using the rye grass in winter 😊

@@CBeason That is true especially since you spray twice a year.

A lot to learn in chemical applications, trying to learn more about it now, wouldn’t mind adding it.

@@BENNHENDRICKS33 yeah Ben , definitely do especially if your planning to stay solo. A lot of guys will stop mowing altogether and just do treatment/fertilizer. It’s easier and frankly can make more money tbh

How many times per year do you blanket spray with selective? I know on some labels they say like no more than 2 blanket apps per year but it just seems way more effective and efficient than spot treating

Hey Amos , I do 4 preemergent/blanket sprays per year 2 in late winter/early spring then similar in Fall.. really depends on weed coverage and the cost of the selective if your considering blanket over spot treatment. The msm or manor I mentioned is cheap and fairly effective against most broadleaf weeds so I go ahead and put it in my solution this go around
